Obie was sitting quietly in her room. The TV was on, but she wasn't paying any attention to it. She had a mountain of studying to do and several assignments as well, but luckily her instructors were being fairly leniant. A very fortunate thing since Izumi had messed up her dominant hand and she was having to do everything on the computer one handed.
After deleting the millionth typo, she had given up for a while. Sitting on the sofa, she held the silly little beanie dog that Ra had given her and small smile was on her lips. He made everything better. Kyo had warned her about his mothering getting obnoxious, but it wasn't. She liked spending all of her time with him. He was safe and he loved her and she didn't have to worry about stupid things around him. Though she did have to admit, he seemed a little tense lately. Breathing in deeply, she let it out slowly and looked up at the clock. Speaking of him, she wondered where he was.

Breathing deeply Ra stood outside the door for a few minutes, collecting himself. He would not take this out on Obie. it was not fair. Besides, she couldn't know about all this.
"Hey, I'm back." He said, brightly. Pulling the door open and walking in in his soaked state. Closing it behind him he flexed his fingers a little. Damn there was going to be a bruise there.
"Sorry i took so long." He said. Walking over to kiss her on the cheek. "I'm going to take a quick shower and pray for a bit." He said, taking another deep breath and watching her for a moment. "This was not her fault." he reminded himself again as he stepped back. "Then I'll be back to distract you."

Obie looked up as she heard her door open and smiled brightly as he walked in trailing water behind him.
"Hey baby," she smiled as he walked over and kissed her cheek. She always felt secretly relieved once he was back in her sights. Even though Makito had promised her that she no longer had to worry about things, she was still a little paranoid about some form of retaliation, even if she hadn't done anything wrong. Looking up at him as he went on, she continued to smile warmly up at him as she nodded though she could see something in his eyes.
"Sure love. You want me to make you something to eat for when you're done?" she asked, keeping her eyes on him, trying to read what it was that was bothering him.

Ra smiled and shook his head.
"No love. i'm good." he smiled, disappearing off to do exactly what he had said he was going to do.
Returning a while later he walked over to the sofa, flopping down and resting his head in her lap.
"I am so glad today is over." He said with a smile, looking up at her. He supposed he should say something. She was going to find out about the Kayne incident. "Had to pull Kayne off some a*****e. Seems trouble is following him again." He said, convieniently leaving his part in it out.

Obie smiled as Ra walked back into the living room and flopped down onto the sofa with her. Combing her fingers through his hair, she rested her plastered on his chest and arched her brow at his words.
"You had to pull him off of someone?" she repeated, looking down at him. Giving a soft snort of laughter, she looked up at the TV with a small shake of her head. "He seems to attract it like flies to honey. What set him off?" she asked looking back down at him. "You didn't get hurt did you?"

Ra smirked and shrugged.
"Jess seems to have gotten herself in a bit of trouble. I'm suprised tou haven't heard." He said, looking up at her with a smirk. "She was seeing this PE teacher. He talked s**t about their sex life with the soccer team and Kayne hit him. He deserved it." he added, resting his hand gently over her injured one. "Somewhere between that and now, jess and kayne must have got together again. "One of the soccer team was picking on me. The usual stuff and then started on kayne. I think he was justified." he said, closing his eyes for a moment.
"The ignorant ******** was implying gang rape. kayne went nuts. obviously and almost pounded his skull in." Ra smirked, an unusually cruel smirk. "If it wasn't for the fact Kayne would have been slammed in jail i would have left him to it too."

Obie listened to him, her expression becoming troubled as he went on. At his final uncharacteristically harsh words and unusual smirk, she could only watch him carefully for a few moments before her brain would work again. Swallowing a little, she looked away and shook her head a little.
"How could you say that Ra? No one deserves that," she said softly and looked back down at him. "Why was he picking on you?" she asked, though she knew. She had heard the whispers, but she wanted to know if that was really what it had been about.

Ra gave a soft snort of laughter and shifted to sit up.
"Somebody has to stand up to these people, or they think they can take liberties. Play their own games." he said, gestuing to her current state. "I said," he shrugged, "The usual stuff. The bin ladin insults." He rolled his eyes and sighed heavily. "And what if he and hi cronies had carried out their threat. Would they not deserve it then? Did you deserve this B? Do i deserve to be accused of doing it to you?" He breathed deeply and stood to walk to the window and look out to the evening sky.

Obie watched him as he sat up and dropped her eyes to her lap as he stood and walked to the window.
"Of course not Ne-chan," she said softly. After a couple of minutes, she looked up at him with worry in her eyes and she rubbed the palm of her hand nervously against her leg as she watched him.
"I'm so sorry Ra. I did not expect them to be so cruel," she said softly. "I'll try to make it better so they'll stop."

Ra smirked and turned back round to face her, reaching out to cup her face in his hands.
"It's not your fault people are ignorant, you do not need to do anything B. If it was not this they would hve found another way to get to me." he sighed and held her eyes with his.
"It just makes me so angry that someone did this to you, undid how far you had come with your trust and confidence. Guys like Bruno just make it worse."

Obie looked up at him as he cupped her face between his hands and watched him carefully for a moment. It broke her heart at what she saw. The change was subtle, but it was there. His eyes seemed a slight bit jaded, a look she had once held before she had met him. Rising to her feet, she closed the space between them and wrapped her arms around him despite the pain to hold him as tight as she could manage.
"It's not as bad as before. As long as I have you, it could never be that bad again," she said softly as she rested her head against his chest.

Ra smiled softly and wrapped his own arms around her ever so gently.
"Good." He said softly. "because, you need to know I am always here for you, whatever you need." He smoothed his handover her straight hair before easing ehr back a little. "I love you B, just remember that." He smiled and leaned in to kiss her gently. "It will all work itself out. It has to."
