Jess sat on the sofa in the livingroom watching but not watching the drama on TV. She was worried sick about kayne. The jungle drums had been sounding eversince it happened. Since the ambulance came and drew a ton of attention. The police had been around too but thankfully a donation from the Gennai family fund had sent them on their way with smiles on their faces.
Breathing deeply she closed her eyes and fought the urge to have another cigarette. He would come soon. he had to come soon. She thought to herself. She knew he was probably thinking he'd lost it but she knew, she knew they'd pushed him. The very fact that Ra had been seen throwing a punch made her -know- something wasn't right.
"Come on Kayne." she muttered to herself, willing hs key to turn in the lock.

Kayne sat outside of Jess' house for a few more moments, his cigarette poised between his lips. He really hadn't meant to go so far. Truly, if Ra had not been there, he might have actually killed the guy. When things had started to get a little hairy around campus, he had slipped off to the beach for a while. It didn't matter that it was raining. In fact, it was better that it was because no one was around. It wasn't until it started getting dark that he decided to go and see how upset Jess was with him. Even with Ra's reassurance, he wasn't so sure. He had really gone too far this time.
Pulling one last drag on his cigarette, he exhaled and dropped it to the ground to snuff it out with the toe of his trainer. Rising to his feet, he got up from her porch steps and turned around as he fished out his keys. Unlocking the door, he stepped inside and breathed in deeply.
"Jess?" he called out, as he closed the door behind him, little drops of water rolling out of his ginger hair and down his face.

Jess jumped as the lock turned and hopped up to her feet. As she saw a rather dripping wet Kayne, she half launched herself at him and wrapped her arms around him tightly.
"God, you had me worried sick." She said, pulling him down into a kiss. "The police came to talk to me and everything, I was so worried about you. So, so worried. Are you all right? They didn't hurt you?"

Kayne blinked as Jess launched herself at him, and wrapped his arms around her. Still surprised by her reception, it took him a second before he returned her kiss. When she pulled away, he opened his eyes and breathed in deeply.
"No. He didn't do a bloody thing. He didn't stand a chance really. I'm sorry I worried you love. I wasn't too sure about how upset you would be about it. Things just... got way out of hand," he said softly, reaching up to touch her face gently.

Jess smiled broadly and stood on tiptoes to kiss him again.
"Honey, i don't care about those shitheads. I have no doubt they deserved it. But, you have to be careful or you are going to lose everything. You could have done some serious damage today."
She sighed and looked away for a moment.
"The police took some convincing, but I go them off your back. " She breathed out and looked him over. "Let's take a bath and get you warmed up." She said reaching down to take his hand.

"Yeah. I know," he said softly. He actually felt really bad. Not for what he had done to Bruno, but for allowing himself to get so carried away. At her next words, he frowned a little, but allowed her to lead him off to the bathroom. A hot bath sounded -really- good at this point, starting to feel the cold of the rain starting to set into his bones.
A few moments later, he was stretched out in the hot water, holding her tightly with his eyes closed.
"You're really not mad at me?" he asked softly, cracking his eyes open. "What did you end up telling the police to leave me alone?"

Jess had her head resting on kayne's chest as the steam from the traditional style bath enveloped them. This was the perfect way for her to forget the rest of the world existed.
She heard his voice though his chest and shifted to rest a hand on his chest so that she could look at him.
"I paid them off." She said frankly. No more lies. "And name dropped a little. And don't stress about it love. I've done worse." She said, kissing his chest.

Kayne looked into her eyes, though his brow slipped up as she kissed his chest.
"Worse? What's worse?" he asked, searching her face as he ran his hand over her hair. Several things went through his head, none of them pleasant, but she wouldn't be like that, right?

Jess shrugged and slipped her hands up into his hair.
"It's not important." she said shifting against him and kissing his lips in an age old dance of avoiding the subject. "It is not in this life." Breathing deeply she traced her fingers overhis tattoo and kept her eyes on his. She should tell him, if they wanted a real relationship, her life should not be a secret. "I'll show you when we are done here." She said softly.

Kayne returned her kiss softly, though his mind was far from her distraction. When she pulled away a soft smirk slipped over his lips as her hand slipped over his chest, though he wasn't entirely sure he was comforted by her words. With his mind still whirling around the possibilities, he pulled her into another deep kiss then onto his lap so he could hold her against his chest.
"Alright then, but I'll hold you to that," he smirked a little, tracing his fingers over her shoulder.

Later and feeling much more relaxed jess rummaged through the cupboard in her bedroom searching for a bag. Locating it she pulled it out of the depths of the cupboard and reajusted her robe as she carried it over to the futon where Kayne was lounging.
Unzipping it she pulled out her swords and handed them to Kayne, then a stack of shuriken, a wire, her black suit, and several other various weapons and items of use.
"You know I said I was in security." She asked, holding his eyes with hers. "Well, heh, you are soo not going to believe this." she smirked.

Kayne sat up as Jess walked over with her bag and watched her as she started pull things out of it. When the swords came first, he smiled a little. But then came the shuriken and suit and other weapons, all he could do was arch his brow a little more with each item she pulled out. Looking down at the beautiful swords he held in his hands, he nodded a little at her words.
"Aye, I remember," he said, looking up at her trying to gauge what it was he was not going to believe.

Jess smiled a little and took a deep breath.
"I'm an asassin." she said, holding her hands out and giving a nervous laugh. "Suprise." She joked as she watched him for his reaction. She sincerely hoped it would not be a bad one.
"Iwas not in a car accident Kayne. I was ambushed and almost killed." She smirked and traced the scarson her thigh. "By my father."

Kayne stared at her for several moments, then looked down at the swords he held and the other various weapons laid out on the futon. After a moment, he gave a snort of laughter and looked up at her with a raised brow.
"Wow. And I thought I had family issues," he smirked slightly and watched her for a few moments. "So, um, wow," he said, trying to digest all of the new information. "How long?" he asked with slight interest emerging from his surprise.

Jess smirked and nodded.
"Yeah, he's a grade A psycho." She said, rolling her eyes. "Since I was eighteen. so nine years." she said, watching him for a moment. "I work for a big Osaka mob king. That's how I got rid of the police and how I can afford my car and this place." she sighed and shifted to sit cross legged. "Does it freak you out? That I am a killer?"
