Tiffany through the woods towards a field. She had never been very found of the woods: All Sticky, and dirty. But around here it seemed as if they were the only way to get around, anywhere. They were in all directions, and sometimes, even as the last resort, she just HAD to go through.
Now was one of those times. She had just finished bathing in the river and had to go into the field to try off properly. Because otherwise her hair might not go right, and that would be COMPLETELY tragic.
At least today wasn't totally horrid. The sky was a bit overcast, but it didn't threaten to rain, and everything was dry. That was good. The last thing she needed was rain to totally ruin her hair like it did so many times in the past. Then again, the rain did make everything look so pretty. But how pretty she was is MUCH more important than how pretty everything else is!

Faolen had had a pretty much picturesque childhood when he really thought about it. Then too, he was still a child so it didn’t take too much to remember it… His brother played with him.. His father taught them all sorts of manly things that made mamma cranky.. And mamma was just well… why wouldn’t they love their mamma?
Currently, he’d decided to go off on his own for a few minutes. Something that most parents would fuss about but his dah had just said to stay within a stone’s throw of the teepee or whatever that meant…
The weather outside suited the little one’s mood just fine. A bit overcast made the sun less obnoxious and made thinking and pondering less… hot. His steps were very careful and thought out since falling down was still a possibility even after several months of learning to run and such. Up ahead something caught his eyes.. A.. mare? With really prissy hair too. Oh lord.. Was he going to get cooties today?

Tiffany's elegant ear's perked forward. She heard a sound. Certainly not loud enough to be made by a full grown Soquili. Hopefully it wasn't another one of those tragic little Usdias!
She turned to the side. It was not a Usdia...it was a foal! Tiffany had not met a foal since she was one herself, and even then she had only met one or two. The little colt looked so small and lanky! She hadn't seen one in so long, it was a bit of a surprise to see them like that.
But she knew one thing of foals, particularly colts: they were dirty, messy, annoying little things. And you couldn't be mean to them because they were too stupid to get it. Great. Just great. She hoped the little guy didn't notice her, or come over.

Faolen had already spotted the mare and he was trying to decide whether or not he wanted to go up and talk to her of if she was a waste of his time. Mares were after all, rather inferior, right?
Sighing, he decided that he might as well go and see if she was worth talking to because if he didn’t talk to anybody he’d just be wandering along until he went home or someone else happened upon him. Yawning a bit he blinked and stepped several feet closer to her.
She had weird hair that was piled up on her head with flowers that gave off a funny scent. Wait, weren’t those considered weeds not flowers? Shrugging he spoke lazily, “Oi.. ‘ello.” There, he’d said something now what would she have to say for herself?

Tiffany watched the little guy. Oh, he saw her. He defiantly saw her. Now he was...coming over to her? Great. Just great. Now she would have to entertain the little twirp until his stupid mommy or daddy came calling. Fantabulous.
"Hello there...little...thing" she said, rather stiff and unsure how to handle this situation. She was just waiting for him to do something horrid. Like kick her or put dirt on her just because colts were crazy and had no control over themselves, right? No manners at ALL.
She took a step back from the little beast, not wanting it to get too close. It probably smelled and was dirty already from rolling around in garbage and other such things. After all, that's what foals did. Got dirty and annoyed others.

Faolen continued to look at the mare for a few moments after she spoke. Little thing? Was the girl so dumb didn’t even have a clue as to what gender he was. He shook his head slowly and almost felt pity for her.. Almost.
“Hello.” There. That seemed to be a fitting enough greeting since she wasn’t seeming all the inclined to speak. His tail swung back and forth lazily and his eyes shut slightly. The heat made him feel relaxed and as of yet nothing of interest had really happened.
His teal eyes narrowed and took note of the fact that she stepped back from him. What a strange behavior, he usually chose to just stand his ground. “What brings ye here?” His voice was calm and collected with just a hint of mischief, he was still a baby after all.

She took a deep breath. He seemed calm. For a foal at least. He wasn't going crazy or anything. Yet. The mare felt something click in her mind when he spoke again. Ye? What was with that accent. She must have heard it somewhere before....oh yes! That annoying green Brute!
Tiffany eyed the green on the foal. Could it be? No. It was just a coincidence, right? Plenty of Soquili in this area must have accents. After all, what were the odds of running into that green thing's...son?
"I was just coming to dry off my fur" she said, still rather tense. "You see when big-mares like to bathe, if they have any class at all, they will make sure they dry properly so their fur looks good." she talked slowly, wondering if the colt could possibly understand such a thing.

Faolen continued just to look the mare over. The gaze would someday be very sensual and probably make more than one more blush or squirm a bit but for now it just seemed that he liked to think everything over quite thoroughly before acting upon anything. Maybe even considered… slow?
This ability to watch others was certainly paying off. The mare seemed to be a bit wary of him all of a sudden just from him speaking a sentence or two. Had his father managed to make an enemy? Impossible! Nobody disliked his dah.
Didn’t fur dry wherever one was at? Bah, he’d just pretend that what she was saying actually made a lot of sense. Had to humor girls after all. “Big-mares..? Are ye sayin’ yer fat?” She didn’t really look fat to him.. But hey, what did he know he hadn’t really met many others.

Tiffany glared down at the observant little thing. What in the world was it doing? Maybe it never saw a mare before. Maybe it;s mother looked like complete rubbish. Maybe he was just stupid. Either way, she hated him being so annoying.
She Looked down at herself, her fur was almost dry. Drat, she knew that the journey through the jungle would cause it to dry a good deal. Now it wouldn't be perfect. Double drat. Next time she would just have to find somewhere else to bathe. Follow the river until it came near a clearing. How dreadful. She hated forest.
She gasped at what the colt said. "FAT? No! I mean...Adults! Full grown mares! Not little...little" she held her tounge the best she could. Little snivallying twerps that can't keep their mouth shut... if only she had the heart to say such things. Tiffany was no saint, despite what she thought. However, she had enough sense to know that foals were simply stupid.
"I'm big, as in an adult, therefore OBVIOUSLY larger and taller than yourself. You are small." she said, leaning down, as to be nearly eye-to-eye with the colt. He didn't seem horrendously dirty. Still he certainly didn't look like he spent the time on his fur that he needed too.

Faolen gave the mare a frown of his own when he received her glare. Even his mother didn’t give him looks like that when she was cranky with him. Shifting slightly he forgot about the incidence, she didn’t have a reason to be annoyed save for being a crazy female.
… Then she started looking at herself again. He checked over his coat in the morning and before bed, just because sleeping with dirt caked to his fur was rather irritating. Maybe she thought she had dirt on herself and wanted to be sure of it. Bah… That couldn’t be it she looked like she’d been in water recently.
Now.. That was something he’d have to remember. The look on her face had a chuckle or two being restrained. Faolen had obviously gotten his father’s sense of humor and the desire to rile others up just a little. “Well.. Then I wouldna be usin’ “big” with yerself… I’ve nae met any others an’ don’t have much clue o’ yer adjective choices, miss.” Just a word of advice for her…
His teal eyes opened and closed slowly when she lowered her face to him. He was going to be a big stallion that much was obvious already since already he came up high on his dad. “Aye… I’m small an’ growin’ an yer nae getting any bigger.” Fair’s fair.. Who liked being called small? His little white-green tail wiggled innocently.

Tiffany gave a long, deep sigh. Colts were so difficult. This one seemed to be, at least. With their stupid logic that made them THINK they were smart, or witty. Or funny. But they weren't, they had just as poor sense of humor as most adults did in this area.
"Well, that isn't my fault now, is it? Why should I have to alter my speech because you haven't been properly socialized?" she said. It seemed mean, but Tiffany could do much worst if she wanted too. She could have made fun of his accent. Or told him he was a hypocrite, since she had to strain to understand him properly. But he was just a stupid colt.
She inwardly rolled his eyes. What a little brat. "Well I don't want to be big. In fact, my size is perfect. You are FAR to you to understand this, but usually mares are and prefer to be slightly smaller than stallions" she said, shaking her head. "Anyway, you are big for a colt, I suppose. Which is good. But otherwise, you are still smaller than me. It certainly isn't your fault, but I wouldn't go around calling OTHERS small" she said, a bit of an edge to her voice.

When the mare sighed it took all of the manners that had been so painstakingly stuffed into his frame not to just sigh right back at her. This conversation wasn’t very fun, maybe she wasn’t good at having fun conversations. Some people weren’t, yanno.
“Perhaps it is?” He wasn’t really sure at the moment what they were talking about because he was getting a bit weary of listening to yapping. As much as he held himself back from over-doing his playing and not letting himself get too over-done in the sun and such the colt wanted to have a bit of fun right now. “Isn’t the sky beautiful?”
Sure.. That had come from nowhere, but the value of snipping at some person he’d probably never see again served only to annoy him. “Have ye nae found the word perfect ter be a bit… difficult ter pin down.” His tone was musing and his eyes were still up on the sky with a bit of a softened expression. Mindless of whether it was “polite” or not he continued to look up, so lovely was it outside right now… Even in it’s over-cast glory. Maybe it would storm?

Tiffany shifted a bit, getting bored with the little thing. All the other mares seemed to always rave about how wondrous foals were, as if that was their reason for existence, to bring more twirps into the world. Well, Tiffany didn't agree with THAT. Have foals, whatever. Sometimes it was a good thing. But there are better things to do in life.
She looked up. "No. Its a funny color. I hope it doesn't rain or storm. That would be horrid" she said, flicking her long tail a bit. It was dry by now. The last thing she needed was it to rain and get her all horrendously messed up again. It would just be tragic.
Tiffany once again looked down at the colt. As if she was going to listen to the musing of a foal. "Not really. I mean. I am perfect. It's pretty straight forward. To me" she said, not feeling like getting into a philosophical argument with a foal.

Faolen did the same shifting. It seemed that he and the mare just simply weren’t going to have very much in common or she was just refusing to see anything as interesting. He had given a decent enough conversation starter hadn’t he? Bah, maybe he’d just ask he what she wanted to talk about. Mares like that, right?
His gave went up again at the sky, “I think I like it.” The rain always felt good to him, perhaps Faolen was just a darker hearted stallion. (or colt) When it rained he wanted to just dance in it no matter how “dreary” other thought it to be.
“Yer perfect? Who tol’ ye? I’d like ter know how close I am or how close I’m not.” Obviously if she was so very sure of herself there was something to it and he was curious about that too. His dah said he was perfect as-is, but he wasn’t like this mare was.. So?

Tiffany raised an eyebrow. This colt was turning out to be rather uninteresting, and not the little devil she expected from him. At least he hadn't messed up her fur. That was a plus. Although he made at least SEMI DECENT conversation. Not the best. But he hadn't freaked out yet.
Others always had a tendency to get into jealous rages, which was INCREDIBLY inconvenient for her. "Oh. Well that is stupid. The rain is only annoying. I GUESS the flowers need it. Which is stupid. Why can't the flowers get their own water like the rest of us. Or MUST they have it brought right to them? How selfish!" she said, shaking her head at the injustice of it all.
"Well, I decided myself" she said, looking up at the sky again. It hadn't changed, and you could barely make out the fact that they were drifting slowly to the east. It all looked the same though, really. "How far are YOU from perfect?" she said. What an odd question. "Well. Certainly not close to me, and I am perfection in itself. So. Hmm. Being a young colt it is hard to judge. But you don't seem horrendously dirty or rude. So you aren't the WORST thing I've ever run across. But you have a way to go" she said, nodding.
