A New World

~1. The human race, so secure in itself and content in its power, enough so to consider themself above anything the universe could send at them. Armed with some of the most deadliest weaponry and defensive measures to ensure themselves that any asteroid, meteor, or comet lead astray would be childsplay. The human race were as gods shielded by a blanket of certainty and nothing could penetrate...or rather, that's how things seemed. December 31st, 2034; a great calamity struck the earth and altered it forever. As people stood watch from Time Square and from the safety of their homes, surounded by friends and loved ones, they all awaited the clock to strike zero and ring in the New Year, as the crowd began to chime in unison 'ten' the sky was streaked red with the trailing blaze of a rain of meteors as they struck the earth with great force and nearly destroyed everything. Worldwide, the human race watched in awe and horror as the world they'd created over the many millenia was nearly completely wiped clean. January 1st, 2035 was considered a day of reconing and rebirth as the remnants of the human race were forced to build anew, the world they once took for granted was now gone and they would have to create a new utopia. Earth's surface was nearly left bare, the fauna and flora burned to a crisp, but they could grow again, but what once stood of former cities were now debris the likes of not even a holocaust could recreate in its devastating force.

January 1st, 2035 was the day the human race finally had their grand realization: They were not as the gods and no amount of certainty had prepared them for this day. Restoration took time as days turned to months, months to decades, and so on until the world had resumed a level of normalcy; but not the normalcy they'd planned. The land around where the first meteors crashed were considered highly radioactive and the world below was now warped from its original form. Cities were rebuilt to hover over the land on a grand platform as they took on a more futuristic look than before. Some humans, infected by the meteor had to be left behind for a new world, their bodies deteriorating at an alarming pace, they were quarantined to a structure on the earth's surface and left for dead. The previous world and the calamity that brought it to its end had seemed forgotten, even the government seemed to take a turn towards a more traditional method from a further bygone era enfused with a newfound era, life slowly picked up from where it left off as the sight of a new city brought forth a new leash on life...December 31st, 2899; the world once again gathered in the city squares and stood before a grand building/statue that represented their struggle. The selected leader stood atop the grand structure, microphone in hand as he gazed down at the people below as a communication network connected him with the rest of the world leaders who had all returned to their native lands for the year's end festivities.

"People of a new era! I welcome you to your lives born anew! Over 800 years ago, our world was ripped apart before our very eyes, and in our panic we relinquished all hope...But through strife, blood, and tears; we are born anew. We are a stronger, smarter, better society than we were before and we now know we cannot take nature's force for granted...I stand before you atop the 'New World Centineal building', awaiting to ring in the new year with you! Now, together, let us countdown to the beginning of a new life!"

his words rang loud as the people cheered uncontrollably, it seemed like things were truly going to be great. All major cities were rebuilt on an even grander scale to accept refugees from other forgotten realms, the world was now governed from a central city where only the governed world leaders and the 'knights of the new world' resided. The knights of the new world were strictly peacekeepers in a new sense as the 'Grand Capitol' was truly a sight to behold, trainees were shipped by shuttle from their respective cities to the capitol to become knights in their own right. Armed with a specialized machinegun and one weapon of the old world, they were a symbol of old and new brought to a new life. The clock struck ten and began to countdown slowly as the citizens below counted each number...Ten.....nine.....eight.....seven.....six.....five.....four.....three....two...but the number one never came as a projectile came hurtling through the air and shattered the monitor with one strike as glass rained down on the citizens as they ran about in a panic.

A group of humans, dressed in tattered, burned, and ripped clothing stood at the city's border. Eyes corrupted violet and crimson, the apparent leader stood in the front of the crowd as he tossed a large rock up and caught it. A dark expression across his face as he looked about the city and began to walk forward slowly as the people below calmed down once the glass ceased falling and filled the streets to meet the threat. Violet hair, fluttered in the night breeze as the leader of the band of people brought themselves forward and stopped before the crowd.

"You scum...you wretched, human scum..." his voice hummed low yet echoed softly through the town as he held the rock firmly in hand and looked above the crowd at the middle aged man holding the microphone. Crushing the rock in his rigib palms, it fell to the ground as dust as he now held several smaller rocks in his palm and tossed one with great force and speed as it seemed to strike the man from the incredible distance it seemed to be to reach a man that high and far away from where he stood, but his cry of pain echoed through the microphone as he fell backwards clenching his arm. Several knights ordered to accompany him grabbed onto him and hauled him away quickly as the remaining three stepped off the side of the building and fell the the ground below.

"You! Identify yourself!" the knight called as the crowd parted to reveal the men hadn't a scratch on their armor as the only damage done seemed to be the dust in their hair. The leader of the knights stood and approached slowly, his two subordiantes following slowly as he stood before the band's leader and growled. The violet-haired man raised an eyebrow and then began to laugh "I'm just a forgotten memory of a bygone era...damaged goods as you would think of me. I'm just here to repay a debt!" he said as a sudden kick to the face sent the leader flying backwards and to the ground as the other two knights were made quick work of as well. The large group of humans behind him didn't make a move without his word, awaiting an attack order, but none was issued.

Walking away from the crowd as they were too afraid to move, he turned around and stared at them as two canine ears appeared on his head and a hang hung from his upper lip. "There's a war comin'...and you're all gonna pay..." he said briefly with a dark chuckle before running off as the other humans he'd brought with him began to transform as well. Some sprouted ears, fangs, and tails; some grew wings; everyone transformed into some kind of beast as others just warped into inconceivable creatures with blackened skin and pure crimson eyes. The new year brought more than a new beginning with it, a new end was at hand and a declaration of war was issued that day...the humans left for dead so long ago were reborn, the world forgotten was their new world. A world forgotten has come back to haunt them, they have no choice but to retalliate, but who will win in the end...Humans or Beasts? Or will the earth be ripped apart all over again under the force of the upcoming conflict...

1. For this particular RP, I expect a minimum of a paragraph post. That's a minimum of 5 sentences, so please abide by this.
2. Post in the 3rd person.
3. Do not use ** for action, I expect you to use proper grammar as well as puncuation.
4. Send requests to me in a pm with the title New World.
5. When roleplaying with someone, please please let them know if you have to get off so they don't wait forever for you to post.
6. No Godmodding!
7. Killing is allowed, however, you must have the person's permission first.
8. Please separate Out of Character from your In Character some how by using ().
9. Romance is allowed (Yuri/Yaoi too, I guess) but keep it appropriate! We have a Gaia TOS in effect in all forums and here is no different. PG-13, anything up to slight nudity, but beyond that take it to PMs where I can't be held accountable in any way.

~3. Introduction

Alright, here's the point where people start RPing. After the events described in the opening sequence above; the knights all return to the Grand Capitol and plan their counterstrike upon the Beasts to preserve the tranquility the humans have worked so hard to establish. The beasts return to earths surface and prepare for battle, their leader issuing a statement as to the events happening in the 'New World'. The beasts are essentially a race of human-beast hybrids, the half-wolves are not Lycans and the half-bats aren't vampires. Some of the genetic variations are not even related to animals and are simply mutations brought about from years of genetic mutations. In this age, weapons from all eras are accepted, but civilians and low-ranking law enforcement aren't allowed to weild anything over the size of an SMG and just like in the old world, your character MUST be 21+ to use a weapon. You are allowed 2 basic weapons that can be like a staff and a gun, 2 guns, two swords, etc.

The Origin Cities are Listed Below:

New York
Los Angeles
Tokyo
Kyoto
England
Beijing

with more being created still...

The Grand Capitol lies hovering above the Atlantic Ocean, sealed off with a barrier to keep intruders out.

The Beasts are confined to slightly rebuilt versions of old cities, though the cities don't have names, they call it home.

Gaianame: Kaito-Oniisan
Name: Shinsei Anbu
Age: 25
Race: Beast/Mutant-Wolf
Status: Refugee Leader
Power: Slight Psychokenisis(Unable to lift heavy objects, usually over the weight of 178lbs.)
Weapon: A double-edged broadsword which sits holstered on his back and a desert eagle on his side.
Appearance: The trademark of his appearance lies in his violet hair and eyes. A tanned complextion from living on the surface and elongated fingernails that resemble claws when in his beast state. His usual garb is a blue, tattered T-shirt covered by a black vest; worn cargo pants and combat boots cover his lower half as his scarred and injured forearms are bandaged lightly with dirty bandages from wounds that have already healed on his body. A long scar runs down from his collarbone to his gut from fighting other beasts off to keep the order within the refugee-fille old world.
Personality: The type of person to strike first and ask questions later, Shinsei was born into a broken world and a broken family. His mother and father were both mutated refugees condemned to the earth's surface for quarantine. He's sworn to pay back the so-called 'normal' humans for condemning them to a wasteland, left for dead so long ago. He has an infinite capacity to care for those suffering the plight of the old world, but shows not a hint of mercy for those who once shunned their kind, his mutation makes him a commodity even among Beasts so he rarely uses his mutation to his advantage, hence why his powers are weak compaired to someone with practice and complete control over their abilities.
Bio: Born in the old world's ruins, he was forced to work hard to survive and fight hard to stay anywhere near the top of the food chain of the lower world. His parents were both mutations, both wolf hybrids, so he became one as well as he slowly came to realize at a young age. His father told him plain and simple that he'd have to fight for dear life from age 10 and up as after that age, he'd have to learn his own way to live. Though refugees lived together in a tight community, beasts had to learn to do things for themselves at an early age as a precaution for what life held in store later on in life. Just as his parents had prepared him for, they both passed when he was 18 of gunshot wounds when a group of lowlives swarmed through the community, stealing, killing, and raping whatever and whoever they wanted. With no official government set in motion, they were helpless to stop them; Shinsei despised this about the lower world and set to change it forever, establishing his own martial law over the course of following years. At the age of 25, the time finally came as he'd established himself as the de facto Beast in command that it was time for the beasts to pay back an owed debt to those of the New World. Hijacking a shuttle, he lead a quick introductory run into New York and introduced the survivors of the old world; setting into motion the declaration of war that the humans would never forget. January 1st, 2900; everyone was at arms and ready for battle as the camp that the boy was born in was now a reconstruction of an actual city from the 20th century...despite the remnants of unmoved ruins and no cars.

User Image
Gaianame: Kaito-Oniisan
Name: Zack Murphey
Age: 23
Race: Human
Status: Kngiht
Power: None
Weapon: Two Standard Issue Gunblades. One that actually fires projectiles and the other with a trigger-activated vibro-blade feature.
Appearance: Standing at around 6'4", Zack has rather pale skin and deep brown eyes. Brown hair reaches down just to his eyes as he sports a very standardized build, not being very muscular, but substituting with some decent speed. Having a pretty secluded lifestyle before training with the knights, he has no real injuries or scars whatsoever, making the sensation of pain a foreign feeling as the newbish recruit type. Clothed in light armor, a chestplate, and leg armor. He doesn't really have an extensive wardrobe except for what he can make the best out of when he's in civilian clothes where he just puts a vest and jeans over the standard body suit most wear under their armor. When not wearing armored shoes, he walks around in sneakers for the most part but sometimes substitutes for light boots.
Personality: Calm and of a slight fragile nature, he has a tendancy of being easily surprised when yelled at and a slight coward when not completely prepared. Easily taken by allies in sparring matches, he's learned a stick and move tactic to move quickly and strike before he's striked. Around others, he's the sociable one who is often teased for being a lightweight among men as he tends to take on the least physically straining tasks around. Specializing in tactics and science, it is rare for him to actually have to do something dealing with physical combat, though it can't be helped at times. When in a real battle, he is jumpy and insecure, but does what he can to end a conflict with emense speed and skill; in a close-up battle, he isn't as efficient and quickly moves to keep his distance unless he can't.
Bio: Born in an upper level family, he was the usual rish boy with the silver spoon in his mouth. His father owned a business in the new born world and thus, he looked up to his father and took on his personality a bit. Following his father's footsteps seemed the obvious choice, but his calling seemed to go towards the knights as seeing them in action made him want to get his hands dirty for once. His mother never really seemed to understand it, but his father knew perfectly well and enrolled him at the age of 18 as soon as his son gave him the thumbs up. At the turn of the century, he was in the audience on leave when the beasts struck. Amazed by their strength, but frightened by their brutality, he had to defend the people. He could relate with their want for revenge if he thought about it, but he couldn't rightfully stand there and let innocence get caught in the crossfire so he trained hard to defend, but what side was right and wrong was not the question. He didn't believe either side was wrong, but the wrong way of resolving the issue had definitely been introduced.

It wasn’t noticeable until one day in elementary school on the playground when shiny white wings grew forth out of her back, causing severe blood loss and two scars on her back where the wings come forth. Unable to hide the truth, federal officials eventually came to take the child into quarantine. Both her parents died trying to save her, but it was in vain. She was then cast away from the world and shunned, and lived in quarantined area with her distant cousin, who taught her how to fly. Gaianame:Animegurl145
Name:Namine
Age:19
Race:Beast[mutant/fox]
Status:Captive
Power:able to track anything/heightened reflexes
Weapon:none right now
Appearance:This is her appearance in the norm. There are times when her mutation shifts. She can look normal at certain times. Sometimes she may have ears, or a tail, or have hind legs.
Personality:Namine is reserved and quiet due to the fact that she is a captive. She used to be cheerful and trusting. Loving those around her with all her heart.
Bio:Namine was born from a human mother and a mutated father. Her fathers mutations did not manifest in him, but it did in her. Her father worked for the government and everything was fine till she hit puberty. Suddenly a mutation manifested in her body. Her eyes became dark as night and ears protruded from her head. Her parents tried to keep this a secret but the government knew and they captured her. Namine's parents were killed trying to protect her. That day her world was shattered. She no longer had anyone to love anyone to live for. She turned from a bright cheerful girl into an introverted, reserved, and quiet girl. Her eyes the only portal into her soul. All she knows now are the white walls which confine her and the stream of testing that is done on her to try and reverse the mutation. Because of the testing her mutation changes. She may have sharp claws one moment and normal hands the next. One time an experiment went wrong, it caused unimaginable anger added to by her horrible experience. She mutated into a fox like creature, too big to actually be one. She went berserk killing many of the researchers in the room with her. At this point she tried to escape but she was subdued and tortured till she passed out. Because of this she was unconcious for a couple of days. The only kindness she knows is from one of the knights who knew her father. He visits her often and tells her about the outside world. Promises that one day he will take her away. It's these moments when the old Namine returns, when her sad visage blesses him with a timid smile. Currently Namine is chained in her room awaiting the day when she will be saved and she can take revenge.

Amelia
Gaianame: Freya_Mykmak
Name: Amelia Franklin
Age: 25
Race: Human
Status: Knight
Power: None
Weapon: She wields a staff with an intricate, circular blade on the end. She also has a longbow that she uses occasionally.
Appearance: Amelia is not tall, standing about 5'4" in height. Her skin is porcelain white and without blemish, accenting the oddly light blue of her eyes. However, she does have swirling blue tattoos on several parts of her body that she has had since she was very young. She has naturally blue hair that reaches her waist. Her build is slight, thin and not muscular, however her dexterity enables her to fight as well as the other knights. Amelia prefers to wear dresses of a slightly antiquated style, but she will don various levels of armour if the situation calls for such things.
Personality: Amelia is kind-hearted and somewhat outgoing, but she eminates a certain shyness about her person that protects her from some of the male knights that would want to do her harm. For the most part, as one of the few female knights, she is greatly respected by her male comerades. She enjoys spending time with and getting to know the other knights. Amelia is very helpful, especially in high stress situations. She knows how to keep her calm during and battle.
Bio: Amelia was born into an upper-class English family living in Paris, France. She was raised as any proper female child should be, learning the ways of etiquette and how to host an excellent souiree. However, she always watched the Knights with awe and wonder, envying the prestige that was granted to such a select group of individuals. When she was of age, she ran away from home and enrolled as a knight. As soon as her training was complete, she was sent to the ceremony at the turn of the century where the beasts staged their attack. Amelia sympathized with the plight of the beasts, but could not understand their position, as she was not one of their race.

[x]
Gaianame: Coldflame08
Name: Nebula Estrelli
Age: 24
Race: Human (normal)
Status: Knight
Weapon: A shotgun and a small pistol.
Appearance: Nebula’s bluish black hair is very long, and almost always worn up to keep it out of her way. In contrast, her eyes are a very light shade of blue that always seems to grasp a ray of light, often giving her a friendly appeal (which sometimes can be deceiving). She’s usually found wearing a tough leather corset under a moderately long black jacket with long pants and tall boots to match. She’s 5’ 11” and has a slender build.
Personality: Well, she’s reasonable. When face-to-face with a difficult situation, Nebula’s first instinct is to sit down and think. She’s not impulsive, but she can be quick to act if the predicament calls for it. Although one can’t quite claim her to be sociable, she does have the ability to speak to anyone she so chooses, though it’s possible she won’t choose to. Overall, she’s kind, but stands firm about her beliefs.
Bio: Growing up in a struggling but well-off family, Nebula has watched the city around her grow, a shadow of what it maybe was before. She often wandered around the streets, a friendly child always willing to help with just about anything that needed helping. Her favorite spot to play in was the latest construction site, where she befriended the workers and helped carry tools or drinks for them. Years pass, Nebula grows up and leaves her family behind, but not forgotten. She moves into a small apartment, making her living as an architect and construction worker, not unlike the ones she enjoyed watching back then. When word of an attack reached her, anger and confusion filled her heart. Who would do such a thing? Not now, when we should be working together, not now when we are just starting to rebuild. Not now, and not ever. In an instant she left, joining the knights in the fight against the vengeful.

Gaianame: Lady Harusaki Taisho
Name: Taisho Harusaki
Age: 23
Race: beast (half akita inu)
Status: Refugee, and undecided beast siding
Power: The ability to control and create fire, to use poison which seems to be secreted from her 'claws' and a whip, though the source is unknown it seems to also be manipulated by her claws.
Weapon: Walther P99, A katana which was passed down to her by her father.
Appearance: Due to the radioactivity, her hair was turned a lustrous silver, and her eyes a brilliant, fiery gold. Her hair reaches the small of her back, though it is usually tied up into a topknot or braid. she has a lithe body, which is, somehow, sun-kissed. Two equally silver dog ears protrude from her head, in lieu of human ears, and a knee-length tail protrudes from her behind. She usually wears flexible, black clothing, mainly the haori and hakama she had been given at birth. the Walther is hidden in a holster within her juban, where it is easily accessible when needed. The katana is more visible, strapped to her hip, as is her family's tradition.
Personality: Ever since her parents had been killed off by humans, she became withdrawn and emotionless, constantly wearing a mask to shield herself from more hurt. Nobody really knows her personalities for this reason.
Bio: The meteor storm had destroyed her family, and her life. She hadn't even been born, though because of those accursed rocks, her family had been plagued with animalistic attributes since her ancestor's time. Furthermore, the humans wouldn't let us back into their grand city, for they believed that we were contagious, which wasn't true.
The radioactivity had merely caused her ancestor's DNA to mix with the DNA of their family dog, which had been slain by a falling beam of wood. After generations, the dog-like qualities became more dominant, until finally, Harusaki was born with ears and a tail. her family had been killed by rogue human mercenaries, who thought her 'sort' were nothing but bloodthirsty animals, even though, when they had been killed, her parents and sister were betting for their lives.
Now, she was the only one left of the Taisho clan. She had rebuilt her home, and resumed living there. She had even gotten electricity to work, by rerouting her lines to a blessedly undamaged power plant. She saw what the Beasts had done on the Eve of the New Year, and she seemed to agree with it, though she really wasn't one for fighting. She could, if she had to, but she didn't like it.
She knew that war would break out between the humans and the beasts, and that it was only a matter of time. from her bedroom, she could hear the base in her hometown, which used to be the city of Kagoshima on the island which was once called Japan. She still called the places by their real names, even though nobody else did. She just found it was easier for location purposes.
The War was coming... Taisho Harusaki knew she had to fight. Knew that, in order for true peace, she needed to win.

Gaian Name: Shady Mane.
Name: Iris.
Age: 17.
Race: Beast... Snake.
Status: Refugee.
Power: Can turn into snake, and can read minds.
Weapon: Silver whip.
Appearance: Iris’ pale skin and silver hair are a trademark of her Albinism. Her eye pigment levels change depending on her mood, when she is angry or stressed; her eyes turn crimson, as she is unable to produce melanin (pigment), and instead produces blood. When she is happy or calm, they are a very pale blue. She stands at about six foot seven. Iris is lithe, and has a striking appearance, a result of her young-looking body and old, wise eyes. She has a scar on her left cheekbone, a series of silver tattoo-like scars on her arms, and a scar running along the right half of her neck. She wears a black leather shirt and breeches, and a hat, regardless of the weather. When it is cold, she will also wear a dark green cloak.
Personality: Iris is person who loves seeing other people happy, even though she seldom is herself. She is a ready listener, and a ready talker, and enjoys doing what she can to help other people out.
Bio: Iris was born into a high class family, the second born daughter, and the heir after her older sister died. She suffers from a rare disorder that is responsible for both her overbleeding and her albinism, where her melanin-producing cells; which release skin, eye, and hair pigment into her blood stream; produce red blood cells instead. To handle this, she now cuts herself. She had constant heavy-flow nosebleeds as a young child, but they were chalked up as clumsiness. She was discovered as a mutant on her seventh birthday, when she fell off of her horse and turned into a snake. She was shunned, and discarded by her parents. She lived on the surface for years with a kind man, until he was killed by humans. She has sworn revenge on the people of the floating city

Gaianame: Enaella
Name: Enaella Miyuki
Age: 21
Race: Beast (mutant eagle/rabbit)
Status: Fleeing Captive
Power: While most of her senses are normal, Enaella’s eyesight is more than four times sharper and improved than that of any human’s, giving her excellent accuracy and enhanced detection skills. Also, because of her mutant-eagle status, her bones are all hollow, making her extremely lightweight and therefore a very, very swift runner and high jumper. However, the downside to this is that she cannot lift heavy objects and isn’t very strong. On the other hand, her rabbit status gives her an amplified stamina and strengthened legs, which increase her agility and counter the hollowness of the bones located there, making it easy for her to deliver sharp, dangerous kicks. Lastly, as a partial rabbit, Enaella’s hearing is incredibly sharp, making her capable of sensing things from afar. To briefly sum everything up, Enaella has enhanced reflexes and senses.
Weapon: Enaella carries around a pair of revolvers that she keeps hidden in holsters strapped tightly to her clothes.
Appearance: What with her small, seemingly fragile figure, it’s hard to believe that Enaella is actually part-eagle, one of the most powerful and largest birds of its category. She is quite slender and petite for her age, mainly due to years of being forced to eat very little. Her mid-back length, red-auburn hair is usually wound tightly into a messy bun with a black ribbon, though several long locks are usually framing her face, often mainly due to the fact they fell out of the bun. Enaella’s wide, cautious, violet-silver eyes are also often darting from place to place, inspecting every shred of surrounding possible, a wary trait she derived from her rabbit side. Additionally, Enaella weighs less than fifty pounds, which certainly gives people who attempt to pick her up quite the shock when they actually do so—if they manage to catch her, that is. Surprisingly, upon first glance, Enaella appears to be a regular human thanks to her lack of “animal-appearance-qualities”. Usually, this female can be seen wearing a white-collared shirt with a simple, buttoned, dark violet blouse worn over it, dark red dress pants, black fingerless gloves, and black combat boots. This outfit is flexible despite what its appearance suggests, making it easy for Enaella to perform complex maneuvers and running.
Personality: Sweet but timid, Enaella has a strange personality. Often at the brink of having an identity crisis—managing to maintain being part eagle and part rabbit well is not an easy thing to do—Enaella can be extremely meek and nervous one second and confident and persistently stubborn the next. Though her “rabbit-personality” seems to manifest more, making her very shy, easily frightened, and overly cautious, when her “eagle-personality” does reveal itself, Enaella becomes rather feral and… weird. Maybe it just comes from being the predator and prey at the same exact time… Strangely, when she thinks she’s alone or when she’s attempting to defend herself or others, Enaella can be quite violent as opposed to her usual nature. Oddly, Enaella has a fear of being forced off the ground by someone other than herself, and, when this happens, she puts up quite the struggle.
Bio: Born to a mutant-eagle father and mutant-rabbit mother, Enaella grew up in hiding with them… until their hideout was discovered by humans. Upon that confrontation, Enaella was torn away from the safety of her parents, who were killed, and forced to work on reconnaissance missions and to be a test subject or "specimen" for humans, who were both interested in her strange heritage, genes, and the layout of the now tarnished earth. At first, she resisted with a surprising amount of force, refusing to work with them in any way. After years of torture (and dangerous tests that suspiciously involved a lot of her DNA being inspected), Enaella submitted to being sent on one, but instead, used the mission as a way to escape their clutches and search longingly for freedom, as well as a place to stay and be safe. Guess they placed too much trust in the “fact” that she had been “broken” already.

Nina sat on a large rock. Looking down she realized that it was a piece from a demolished building. At a glance the decrepit wasteland that was this town, was full of decaying bodies. A war party had passed to too long ago. Leaving a massacre in their wake. She knew that the demon camp was not too far away as well, she had been travelling in that direction for some time now.

She wondered if she would be accepted. She was not really a human, she wasn't a real beast. She wondered if she would fit in.
Standing up she spun around. Doing an old ball room dance that she learned a long time ago. Her skirts flying up as she moved her feet in complicated patterns, making sure to avoid the dead bodies scattered on the ground. This close to the camp, she thought, I'm probably going to be found out by one of the beasts on one point...

Kiyoko sat by one of the few lakes left in the refugee camp. She gazed into the water, her long blond hair blowing in the slight breeze. The water was crystal clear, and you could see a couple fish swimming around, carefree. Smiling, she yawned and streched her wings, white as the moon, and leaned against a rock. She had traveled a long way, by flight, and had just recently came to this new camp.

I wonder if there have been more killings, more innocent deaths, she thought to herself sadly. She didn't believe that a war with the "normal" people would solve anything. Peace had worked in the past, so why does a horible deed such as murder rank up to that?I guess I shouldn't worry about it too much, she decided. After resting for awhile, she decided to check out the area just outside the refuge. Concealing her wings again, she skipped out into the much more waste-landish looking area. The moment she looked over the hill, she stopped cold at what she saw.

There were dead bodies all over the place; it was obvious that a battle had taken place shortly before her arrival. She then noticed someone dancing around the bodies, her movement as graceful as a swan. She slowly went closer to this mysterious person, her hand resting on her sword. "Um, excuse me, but, who are you?" she asked curiously.

Walking around slowly, violet eyes scanned the surrounding area carefully, his hair swaying gently in the breeze as the sun began to set on the horizon and the sky began to shift into a reddish tint. He moved along effortlessly through the area as children ran past, playing games, and teenagers walked by as they spoke amongst themselves but stopped for a moment when they saw him pass. As the rebuilt city around him towered a bit, they'd even managed a power source from a combination of natural energy sources the former millenia seemed to high and mighty to utilize.

Looking up slightly, he could see the neocentric New York above, hovering in its so-called 'glory' as he growled slightly at the sight and looked away quickly spitting on the ground. "Think they're so great...we'll show them..." he said in a casual tone before making his way further out towards the city's edge. Office buildings were now homes and stores were restocked with items and foods of the surrounding area as he stopped infront of a food stand and picked himself up a piece of cooked meat and paid the man with a piece of salvaged material. A bartoring system now lay in effect as there was no 'printed legal tender' in such a slum as this.

Biting down into the meat, some of the blood soaked into his mouth as he took a chunk of the food into his mouth and chewed with ease. Evolution was a wonderous thing, a human boy now had the strength and the apetite of a wolf as his jaws ripped through the meat easily and he swallowed. Guzzling some water from a canteen at his side, he continued his treck through town to ensure there was no trouble in his territory. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but how could you tell collatoral damage from debris? The only thing he could discern was the scent of blood and cries for help...in this day and age, most stuck together and aided one another so a cry for help was scarce unless the knights were making their weekly run about the place.

So much to do, so little time...so many soldiers to beat down, so many ways to choose from... he thought to himself, finishing his food and throwing the bone into a trash bin and wiping his hand clean of the juices and blood.

Namine could hear yelling in distance. People were panicking everywhere. She listened as hard as she could and caught the words "There's been an attack". Alarms were going off everywhere and she could hear the mechanism to her door opening. In stepped her only friend in the world, the knight. He explained to her what had happened in the city. He told her that there was chaos and so this was her chance to escape. He blasted the chains, as he did not have a key and had her change into the standard uniform that was worn in the facility, hiding her mutated features. There was so much going on no one even bothered to look at them. He led her out of the facility and when they reached the open air he told her to get as far as she could. This was as far as he could take her. They hugged she knew he had risked his life to save her. From here on she was truly alone and looking forward to the day when she would extract her vengeance.

Zack sat in the locker room as people scrambled around like crazy to get things back under control after the raid. His brown eyes closed as he leaned against the wall and sighed, the vision in his mind as he got a clear look at the leader and how angry he seemed. Was the situation down there that bad? He knew they had a right to be angry for being persecuted and condemned, but to cause such an uproar...it didn't seem right.

"Man...what a day..." he said calmly before he finished changing from his civilian clothing and into his uniform. Looking at the armor he wore for combat and trainng, he smirked and sighed, glad he wasn't ordered back onto the field in armor and instead asked to return back to the capitol for a bit to complete his training. At times, he envied the fullblown knight; but times like this made him glad he was just a recruit still.

"God bless incomplete training...I still got another week to be safely tucked away in my bunk and running drills. Oh happy day." he said as anyone who heard him would think he was being sarcastic, but he was truly glad to not be running crowd control or be in one of the forces having to do weekly runs on the surface for beast renegades.

Namine ran. She didnt know where she was going or what she would do. All she knew is that she had to get away from there. From the horrible memories and experiences she had. She was scared. Scared that they would discover her gone and come after her.Scared that they would investigate how she escaped and harm the knight.

Namine stopped. Maybe she should go back? she thought. Images were racing through her mind of the knight being apprehended and killed. Images of her body being tortured once more like they did to her before.
Namine shuddered at the thought."No Namine, he sacrificed himself for you dont let his effort be in vain" she said aloud as if to give herself the courage to continue. Its a good thing no one was around to hear her or notice her strange appearance. A beautiful girl dressed in the manner of the knights but with a noticeable mutation her fox ears and tail which lay hidden like a bundle in her back. Namine knew that her mutation could change at any moment and tried to will her appearance to seem normal. She had been trying to control it as she spent her days in chains in that room. She had succeeded but could not hold control for long. What now? she thought. Where do I go?

Namine still dressed in the knights clothes thought of a way to get out of the city. She hoped she didn't get caught. She approached the shuttle depot where they kept the transports for the city. She could use one of these to escape and find herself to her own kind. Namine hesitated for a moment. They most likely wouldnt accept her. "Doesn't matter", she thought. "I'll make my own way". Namine slipped past the soldiers guarding the area and entered one of the shuttles. It had been some time since she had been in one of these and wasnt sure how to manuever it. She pressed buttons...hit switches..and shifted gears till finally it moved. The shuttle woke up as if from a slumber moving dizziyngly fast. She had no control over and tried to maneuever it as well as she could. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh" she yelled as she realized she was gonna crash. She crashed into the outer world in a body of water. The shuttle was sinking fast and if she didnt hurry she would sink with it. "dammit" she muttered. Water was already beginning to seep in and the door wasnt budging. Namine took one of the metal guns held in the compartment and battered the glass till it shattered causing water to rush in. She swam for her life conserving what little oxygen she had, the gun still in her hand. She reached the surface swimming to the edge her body exhausted from her struggle. She lay there on the banks of the water wet to the core. Her hair spread out in wet strands around her the uniform plastered to her skin. Namine felt so tired....She closed her eyes and drifted to sleep.

Stopping at the city's edge, the town emptied into nothing. A Barren wasteland stretched out for a good mile before a forest began to grow back. The dirt wasn't even brown, it was red, as if tainted by blood upon creation as he moved out and looked around. Despite the lifeless land between the city and the forest beyond, a river still flowed and acted as one of the many power sources as a mill used the water to push a turbine they'd managed to get back operational.

Sitting with his legs crossed, Shinsei reached deep into his pockets and drew a broken CD player, of course the technology was dead up in the new world, but down here it was like a godsend to find something like this as he opened it up and tinkered around with the innards. It was like his little hobby to put things back to their former glory, tech wasn't his specialty, but there was a time and place for trial and error. Replacing similar parts with what he could find around, he had accumulated quite an assortment of devices in his own home as he looked around carefully and made sure no one was around.

"Hm...okay, I think this part goes here...but I'm not sure..." he said as a screw began to undo itself and float in the air as the panel it held shut fluttered open and certain pieces began refixing themselves. Shinsei had the ability of Psychokenisis, moving and reshaping objects with his mind, but he was far from perfect as he couldn't lift objects heavier than himself and maintaning a mental grasp on too many objects put too much of a strain. Miniature parts like these were no trifle though as he thought quietly and picked which parts to replace.

Looking to his right, a shuttle from the city above crashed into the river and began to sink fast as all th objects he held up with his sheer concentration fell to the ground and he scrambled to his feet and moved upstream to see what was going on. Clenching tightly to the gun in his pocket, he drew it and unlocked the safety, moving forward quickly until he noticed a figure unconscious. Pointing his gun at it for a moment, he slowly approached to realise it was a girl... "What the...?" he couldn't help but question as he could see the uniform on her, but he had to pull her out of the water quickly before she slipped under and drowned. With any luck, he could use her as a ace if she was high-ranking with the knights.

"Come on, out of the pool princess..." he said as he picked her up with one hand, grabbing onto the soaking wet back of her shirt and dragged her out of the water before laying her down on the ground, stomache-first as he lowered himself down and listened to her back and heard a faint heartbeat. "Cool, she's alive...well, isn't this my lucky day?" he said with a smirk before putting up his gun and sitting down infront of her, looking at her for a moment. He couldn't resist toying with her a bit when she woke up, so he didn't take her back to town just yet, as a precaution incase she proved to be too much he could kill her here and dump her in the water.
