I don't know about it being fake. According to http://www.dongbufeng.net/site1 , a trusted source, they have announced the cover, and it doesn't say anything about it being false. OF course it doesn't say it's legit either. I'm gonna wait till Comic-Con, where all announcements will come directly from the creator's mouth. EDIT: Here's what Avatarspirit.net has to say: Quote: This revealing cover art, along with the release date being announced before the episodes have even aired, has caused some controversy in the forum over the authenticity of this information. To settle this fast, we contacted Dave Lambert, the News Director for TVShowsOnDVD.com. He confirmed the information and indicated that TVShowsOnDVD.com gets its information right from Paramount's password protected press website.

tvshowsondvd.com This morning Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the DVD release of Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book 3: Fire, Volume 1 on October 30th. The first single-disc release contains the first 5 episodes of the new season, with a running time of about two hours. Those episodes are reportedly to be titled, "The Awakening", "The Headband", "The Painted Lady", "Sokka's Master", and "The Beach". In order to get this release out at that times, with that many eps, and assuming they are waiting until after the 2nd season DVD collection hits in the second week of September, then Nick will have to begin broadcasting in the third or fourth week of September. Cost of the B3,V1 disc is expected to be $16.99 SRP, similar to the previous individual DVDs in this series. Here's a look at the packaging. Oh, look! Fire! Wait, when did Ang grow hair? Reportedly - basically means, they're just guessing on this. Ang - an error in names usually isn't good, but on a Nick commercial, they called Sokka (soh-kuh), and Appa (aah-pa).
So I have no idea what to believe, as much as I do want to believe this.

Noelani Rules I don't want to be rude but, seriously, how dumb can you get? That's obviously fake. I dunno, that sounds pretty rude to me razz but in all seriousness, I don't know for sure either way, but it's interesting, and it seems more-or-less credible, if this guy's sources are correct. And I'm just amazed by Aang-cosplaying-Zuko and Katara's pretty hair~

Plus Katara looks like Ursa, I smell some crazy zutara plot where zuko mistakes Katara for Ursa.

my opinion: this looks pretty real to me, do i still think it could be a fake, however i think that the fact that aang has hair kind of proves its real why? because its logical that if he is going to the fire nation to learn to firebend and to defeat the firelord he is going to have to blend in and how the hell was he going to blend in with a BALD head obliously he has to grow some hair or even a ponytail to blend in the fire nation, honestly i would believe its a fake if aang remained bald in the picture, but now i honestly cannot tell, but i kind of think its real

If it's real, then YAY!!! It is wierd how they would announce the third season DVD without talking about the Nickelodeon episodes though.
WindGuardianErick has a point. If Aang is going to the Fire Nation, then he would have to disguise himself somehow. I wonder how he is going to hide those arrows?

I'm betting fake (no, no actual betting).
The artwork does look something like the previous works but, well, it feels different somehow. I think it might be the background. I skimmed the article and the one thing that bugged me was how close they were releasing the DVD after the episodes were shown. Usually there is a gap of a couple of months before TV shows are on DVDs (basing this on previous Avatar DVDs). I'm just picturing executives wanting to have high TV ratings for as long as they can before releasing DVDs. The hair also bugs me. The Gaang doesn't have much time left before the comet drops by (so to speak). Wouldn't it take a long time for Katara and Aang's hair to grow out like that?
