Okay, so we've had such threads as "Favorite Character" and "Favorite Episode" but I've never seen a "Favorite battle scene" thread.

There were some episodes that I feel "so-so" on but I always watch it because of the battle scene. So, in this thread, tell us what your favorite battle scene is and why you like it.

I have two: The escape/battle scene in "The Blue Spirit" and the battle between Azula and Aang in "The Drill." I like the various techniques Aang and Zuko used to fight the guards and escape. Very creative. As for the drill, I thought the idea of the drill moving and the crack in the drill gave the feeling there was a time limit and it was Aang's only chance since Azula wouldn't allow him another try. Plus I liked the choreography of the battle especially the part where Aang runs up the wall for an extra boost.

The chase, the drill and the blind bandit have my favorite battle scenes. Yeah, the drill is very thrilling in the time limit aspect, and the chase has an emotional side to it with the Zuko vs Azula bit; plus, it's a three-way fight, which is awesome.
And with the blind bandit...Toph just kicks a** each and every time.

and...hmm, Yue vz Suki? you mean like a zombie fight?

I'd say the 4-on-1 battle against Azula in "The Chase," or the fancy angst-fest in "The Crossroads of Destiny."

Ye gads, the angst fest. That was nice, and made me angst a bit too. The battle was dramatic, and the lines between sides for Flamescar (Zuko) were stressed.

Dammit, I still want Toph to conduct jailbreak for Iroh.

Oh, dang. I dunno, man. Half the joy of Avatar is the battles.


Uhm. I really love the battle scene in The Blind Bandit. With Toph pwning ALL the guys at once, y'know.

The Crossroads of Destiny battle is really well-animated, if not all that original.

The Blue Spirit escape scene is kinda nifty. I also like the bit with the Yu Yan archers.

I love the battle scene in The Chase. (I still giggle at the bit where Azula just manages to keep from falling and Zuko charges in blindly.)

The battle scene between Zuko and Katara in Siege of the North pt 1 is awesome.

Oh, of course the Agni Kai in The Southern Air Temple. If for nothing else than shirtless Zuko. :3

Oh, in Appa's Lost Days, the Kyoshi Warriors VS Ozai's Angels battle is awesome.

Katara VS Pakku in The Waterbending Master, of course.

Ozai's Angels VS the Gaang in Return to Omashu was pretty awesome too.

Zuko VS random-angry-Earthbender in Zuko Alone is cool too. The fire-tipped swords thing was great.

Jet VS Zuko/Lee in City of Walls and Secrets was cool. More fire-tipped swords.

Dai Li VS Gaang and Freedom Fighters in Lake Laogai was amazing.

Oh, the Gaang VS Dai Li in The Earth King! That was awesome!


I LOVE ALL THE BATTLES. ;____;

If I had to pick ONE FAVOURITE, though... Probably The Blind Bandit. I watch that episode over and over JUST for that scene.

(oh, and. I want to see Katara and Azula duke it out again. >.> no this isn't the yuri fangirl in me... why do you ask? heart )

yuri aside... Yes! Zuko's too much of a pushover to fight Katara (at least right now, I hold out some hope for the next season)

But no! It should be a prodigy v. prodigy, bully v. bully deathmatch. I wanna see me some dangerous lady action!

That episode proved once and for all how awesome waterbending is.

Agni Kai, heck yeah!
Not only was it intense, but it was really well animated.

I enjoy most of the battles, but those are my top 2. 3nodding
