Heh sweatdrop Im not trying to sound high and mighty or anything, I just thought some of you might like a brief introduction to them.
Here is the gist of the first part of what I usually said:

To begin, this is not your ordinary roll play. Collaboratives do not thrive on endless character-character interaction. The key here is not the way characters affect each other, but the way their stories affect the main plot line. There are no concerns with weapons, cloths, or anything of that sort, In-fact, I would go as far as to say that HOW you reach the end of the story is really your only main concern. And thus:
Collaborative rule #1: Reach the end of the story.
And since that's really the only specific concern you'll have while writing a collaborative:
Collaborative rule #2: There are no rules after rule #1....only guidelines.

I could walk you through the guidelines but some how I feel as if that would be superfluous, seeing as I would only be restating what most of you should already know. You see, the guidelines for a collaborative are really just tips about writing with respect to other writers.
Just don’t be afraid to explore different styles and mediums to achieve your ends; that and cooperation are what make a good collaborative. And, honestly, that’s all you really need to know.
