Left Behind: Stargate Atlantis
A quarter of the population of Atlantis vanishes at the same time as millions on Earth. The team struggles with the loss of friends as the Wraith become even more dangerous. Parallel story to Left Behind : Stargate Command by Star Trek Freak.

I needed to share the pain. I don't expect you to understand the fandom. But I came to you because of THE PAIN! eek I AM DYING INSIDE! What the crap!?!?

It's even more ridiculous because it's SciFi. And it has to do with other worlds and other galaxies and stuff. ........JESUS DOES NOT GO TO OTHER GALAXIES!!!!111!!1!!!11!one!!1!111!! scream scream scream

And let's not forget the fact that Stargate frequently and unabashedly dabbles into anti-religious themes. A lot. Enough that it significantly pushed me down the road of atheism.

Oh, yeah... and the people on the Atlantis expedition are the "best and the brightest," which means the vast majority of them don't believe in jack s**t... so "a quarter of the population" vanishing would be a rather extreme estimate. Psh.

To make things worse, there's also a companion fic for the original Stargate series.

I didn't even touch the fics... I just read the reviews. gonk

Damn Atheist scientists. Always think they're smarter than everyone else!
Always saying things like "Humphf" and "Nonsense."

It was intended to be indirectly striking at atheism and agnosticism. All of the atheist characters (Except possibly one or two after converting, though I haven't read it) are going to be given an attitude like that.

Well, I know I shouldn't complain this much...

BUT GNAWING OFF MY ARM WOULD MOST LIKELY BE LESS PAINFUL THAN READING THAT STORY. Sorry for the caps... it's what I do when I'm frightened.
