((This is a Private RP between Skye Starrfyre and Myself. Please do not post unless asked. )) ----------------------------------------- Kale dozed in the slightly cooler shade that the large tree offered, deep enough past consciousness that thought processes weren't very detailed or coherent. That was a nice change from when he was normally. Being with his daughter and her family made him happy enough most of the time, but it also made him rather...nostalgic about his own family, or former one if he wanted to be blatantly truthful. Standing still, the older stallion drifted deeper and deeper into slumber, with only the occasional swat to the flies and bugs to interrupt it. Another summer day, another boring one. Ahhh, life.

Rogue... Had told him flat out that he needed to get out more; that they both needed to get out more. He had snorted at that, giving his head a toss and stomping his hoof. When he 'got out' she worried that he was going to run off with some mare. When he didn't get out she huffed that he and the boys were going to turn the rest of her hair white.
White hair... He hadn't seen his petite chere in far too long. They had shared something special and, in that, he had found himself with his first children. She was still important to him... Still a member of his family, as confused (and confusing) as that family might be.
Shaking his head he made his way towards one of the small streams in the area. He knew a good one not far from where he was... One with large trees and lots of shade that he could find shelter from the warm sun in. His coat was far too dark for a day like this to be pleasant.

Kale drifted deeper and deeper, breathing even and calm. There wasn't much else to do at the moment anyway. Heat was something that was avoided in as many ways as possible, sleeping or swimming preferably.
Ears flicked back and forth slightly, attempting to catch any sounds of something approaching before it had a chance to startle him enough that he didn't have enough of a chance to run or fight. In the distance there were sounds, but nothing that woke him enough to register that there was danger or something such.
At least not yet?

He dipped his nose down to drink from the cool waters that he was glad to have found, taking his moment to ignore everything before looking around. He pawed at the ground with his hoof, snorting softly. Such a quiet afternoon... Too quiet. Where was all the adventure? The excitement?
.... Was he really too old for all of that stuff now?

He was dreaming, though when he woke up, he probably wouldn't remember it and even if he did, the abstract way in which in tore at him wouldn't be something he could easily understand. Something was missing and he couldn't tell if it would come back or not and he ws tired of waiting, but the thought of moving from that spot where he was waiting filled him with a myraid of emotions so contorted he wasn't entirely sure what he was feeling anymore.
The vile mixture of emotions tore at him, whispered things he didn't understand or know and made him feel uneasy in his sleep. His long braided tail twitched slightly in a physical manifestion of his feelings, but other than that he did not move, caught up s he was in the nightmare-like dream.

As he shifted into the shade he caught sight of another dark form. Giving his head a light toss he snorted softly to alert the other of his presence so no one startled and, if this territory was occupied by someone unfriendly he could always mosey on elsewhere. If not? It might be good to have someone that wasn't a member of his family to speak with.

An ear flicked instantly once a new sound was heard, alerting its owner of the new presence. Green eyes flickered open, and Kale raised his head slowly, sleep clinging to his mind.
He wasn't alarmed by the sudden intrusion, he'd welcome chance to speak with someone other than his family...if that was what this person wanted to do, of course.
"Hello?"

"Afta'noon." He nodded slowly as he stepped out to make himself a bit more visible in the shade. "Mind if Ah share th'shade with you? It's a warm day an' dark hides don't take all that well t'th'sun shinin' down on 'em constantly. Seems like a nice place t'rest... And enjoy a bit o'company."
