What's the point of fame? To be on a list of the highest people with fame? I mean, seriously. There is absolutely no point, right?

-ichigo_ringo- What's the point of fame? To be on a list of the highest people with fame? I mean, seriously. There is absolutely no point, right? Well, no, I mean fame does have a two-fold point, one being that fame helps you wear certain items and do certain quests, and it's probably the best way to judge if someone is a high level hacker (fame does not match level) or going to scam you for something (like fame trade, or scrolls). There's plenty of gray area, but amount of fame is probably the best way to initially tell if you're going to get scammed or not.

Except I once KSed a member of a hacker guild when they wouldn't CC, they had so many hi level hack accounts and people, I got mass defamed ( not like I cared, I still KSed them razz

I don't hack on any of my characters [9 in scania], and most are in the negatives. I think the highest fame I have is 20. And I don't scam, either. I just don't pay for the bs, or care enough to ask my friends to fame me. Fame's purely for popularity, in my opinion. [Although, I do admit, I have seen armor that requires fame, even if I haven't yet seen a quest that requires fame 3nodding ]
