 This is it, it has finally happened. Nascar has decided to change the Nascar Nextel Cup Series name to the Nascar Sprint Cup Series beginning in 2008.
I personally don't know what to say about it. It kind of sounds weird to me. Especially since there's Sprint cars. The new logo looks pretty cool, so I guess it doesn't matter much to me.

I have nothing against Sprint or NASCAR, but I voted no.
They really need to stop changing their name, it's hurting the series.
I still call it the Winston cup occasionally, I'm just now getting used to Nextel cup. Now I have to call it something else? stare

I was used to Nextel Cup, but this is just jerking us around. I don't know who on earth had a hand in deciding this but maybe they should have a good long look at what they're doing. By this time next year, 3 of my shirts with the Nextel Cup logo on them will be out of date.

Triple Homicide I was used to Nextel Cup, but this is just jerking us around. I don't know who on earth had a hand in deciding this but maybe they should have a good long look at what they're doing. By this time next year, 3 of my shirts with the Nextel Cup logo on them will be out of date.

If it were me, It would be "The Bill France Cup presented by Sprint"
This way we could just call it the Bill France cup, regardless of who sponsors the series.
