who: Lily, Ed, Ronan, and Setsumi
what: the traveling has begun, along with the chaos. XD
where:first destination: Greot Saewall, land of sand dunes and beaches.
"Good grief, do we really have to go this way?" The colorful male was all eager and set for an adventure, only to be met with a seemingly infinite view of sand. His lips pouted as he considered his own aloud words, already knowing the answer. Blue paws moved at a quick pace, already used to the terrain from being in it long ago. Ronan paused and tilted his head back to the group, grinning despite his earlier complaint. "Hey, you think the fullmetal won't sink in all the sand?" It was an honest thought passed the humorous tone. Surely the metal would just want to bury itself in the softer sand. At least Lily had wings to avoid such concerns. Thankfully, they were on the outskirts of such sand. The ground under their paws now was shallow dirt with occasional hard and cracked surfaces.
Setsumi rolled her eyes at the male, moving at her own slow pace. "Must I really answer that?" She turned to the side to glimpse at the younger of the group. "Enjoying it so far? There should be a small beach not too far away." Yes, even the bland sand held its treasures. The purple femme glanced to the other female. "I apologize for the short notice Lily, and my behavior earlier. I tend not to sit well in crowds." It had been the same when she first visited Lily's home; a sort of quality she couldn't conform to.

Edward was... well... lagging behind. His pace slow and his body swaying in an exaggerated fashion. A none too pleased look on his face with his head dipped. Sweat matted his fur and hair and he looked possitively miserable in the heat of this desert.
"I hate deserts" he grumbled. Naturally he was hotter with wearing the clothing.. but he dare not take it off. Even Lilianna's presence didn't make him feel much better, and while he didn't sink... his metal paws did leave deeper indentions in the sand.
"SHUT UP!" he shouted in Ronan's direction, a vein buldging on his forehead. Although there was a slight hope in his eyes as Setsumi mentioned a beach. "Water...." he murmured, needing some desperately. Hopefully there would be actual FRESH water and not just the salty ocean.. somewhere. Intense heat like this was harder on him than most kitsu.

Liliana's green eyes were wide, taking in the sight of the expanse of sand with no trees in sight. Her body was light enought -being so small- that she did not sink much in the sand, though the feel of it between her toes still made her uncomfortable somewhat. Liliana had discovered though that if she slightly ruffled her brown wings they moved a bit of air between them and her fur that cooled her slightly without stirring up the sand beneath their paws. She glanced anxiously at Edward as hs shouted at the colorful male, noting hos his automail paws sank further into the giving sand.
"No. It's okay." She flashed a slightly nervous smile at the older and more experienced female, clearly trying not to show how all this foreign terrain had the winged female feeling completely out of her element. The crimson femme was not outdoorsy or adventuresome by either nature or upbringing but she was stubborn and determined enough not to want to show her weekness. or complain. "I.. it was nice for you to wait for me at all. I know I took a while..." Her smile was sheepish, crimson head ducking thinking of what things she did not take a while on. Like choosing Edward. "I guess I'm used to crowds."
She gave a small, lilting, nervous laugh. That was something the study-raised kitsu had never thought to say of herself. But looking objectively at her life and upbringing it was true. Yes, she had solitude when she wanted it but there was always someone around too.
Pausing, the witch pulled a canteen of water from her bag and passed it to her 'mate'. "I've more where that came from. The SeeDs insisted on it."

Ronan only laughed in a lighthearted fashion, used to changes of weather and terrain to cope. "Well geez, you wanted to tag along." It may be a vacation, but it wasn't that quick to the joy of it all. The male slowed his pace to be level with the other three. "Unless you wanna cross over." He shrugged his head to the left, glancing passed some dunes to shady and flat grounds, bone dry and grey. "I wouldn't recommend it though. Not much lasts there, especially the smaller creatures. A smirk crossed his maw at the twisted tales of that land and he raised a brow to Setsumi. "How about a quick run through like old times?"
Ears and feathers drooped at Ed's obvious discomfort and Lily's nervous air. "Sorry guys, this is the quickest way I know." Lily couldn't transport to places she didn't know, so that wasn't an option. Plus Setsumi imagined it'd be difficult with so many kitsus. "And you didn't take long at all. It was no problem there." She turned to Ronan on her other side with a scolding look. "Would you hush please?" Lily's first trip and Ronan wanted to speak of any little thrill. "And you already know my answer to that. No." Once was enough for her. Okay fine, maybe it had been more than once. But she was older and wiser now, thank goodness.

Edward just rolled his eyes at Ronan, before glancing sidelong at the terrain he mentioned. Puh. Whatever was over there, it didn't scare him.. but Ed wouldn't put himself or anyone else at risk unless it was nessecary. Besides, he had other concerns at the moment. Automail and deserts didn't exactly mesh. The heat and sun heated up the metal rather quickly and unbearably.. which is why he wouldn't remove his clothes. For atleast they were covered and shaded.
This could be an excellent time to use his alchemy, but his energy was already pretty drained from the heat alone. Not to mention, Lilianna seemed to be a step ahead of him today as she handed him the canteen. A look of joy crossed his face as he took it from her and quickly chugged down half of it and then poured the rest over his head.. letting the water cool his body. A huge sigh of relief coming from him, "Thanks Lily.. you're an angel" he said gratefully, giving the canteen back to put in her bottomless bag.

She flushed lightly, as her father often called mother an angel and she liked hearing Ed say that of her. "You're welcome. Anytime." Slipping the canteen away, Lily lightly put her nose to his cheek. She did not want to be a burden or drag on this venture.
"It's a fine way. What ever way we go." Lily was relieved Setsumi said she had not taken long. Stopping to tell Endless... well it had to be done, hard as it was. Painful as it was. Of course telling her massive family both blood kin and not was no quick matter. "Not much lasts there? Why?"
She nuzzled Edward's wet muzzle lightly. "We can apparate past this on the way home, if it makes you feel better, Edward..."

"Fine fine, I knew that." He didn't want to bother going through that terrain anyways. He looked much more forward to the glimmering beaches! If he remembered correctly, one was soon up ahead, with a thin trimline of palm trees. The thought of water didn't bother him, though he did gape as Ed downed himself in water. "Hey hey kid! Won't that rust up your metal?" Plus he didn't want the smell of wet kitsu in the air. A sigh heaved out, blowing passed his hair as he walked forward. No point crying over spilled milk. Come on beach!
Setsumi moved her eyes forward and to the side in intervals, both watching her steps and glancing at the couple. In the end of everything they went through, it seemed they finally glowed. Of course thoughts would burden them, but at least now they could be who they were, happily together. This trip allowed such peace to happen. One ear rose at Lily's question about the lands nearby. "Oh, that's just the way that land is, dark and dreary." Green eyes moved to look at the said location, noting how the land and sky seemed to gray in that direction. "It's just as harsh as the desert, but abit cooler. Carnivorous sand creatures hide underground, while rabid canines scout the lands in packs. Not a good place to sleep at night." She snuffed lightly at the memories of survival between herself and Ronan. Good times to laugh at now that they could look back at them.

A look was passed at Ronan as if he'd asked the stupidest question on the face of the planet. Didn't he think that Edward would know the limitations of his automail after having lived with it for so long? Sheesh. If his automail rusted, he couldn't very well bathe himself. It was made out of stainless steel after all.
Feeling the nose on his cheek, permitted a weary smile as he looked to Lilianna and he nodded lightly to her offer of apparating past this place on the way back. That was something he would definitely consider, despite the fact he didn't care much for the apparating thing either.
Attention reverted to Setsumi as she spoke of the dark lands that loomed nearby. Brows raising at the dangers she spoke of. Certainly sounded ominous, didn't it? A glance was given in the direction of the darkened area as he continued to plod along... his mind starting to wander as he thought of times past. As they crested a dune, Ed wasn't paying much attention to where he was going, misstepped and sent himself rolling down the face of said dune to land at the bottom. How embarassing. Sitting himself up, the alchemist shook himself, now even more covered in sand then before. Did he mention how much he hated deserts?

"Oh." She shivered uncomfortably at the thought of sand creatures underground more than the rabid canines. Those she could see and might be able to stun or hex before they got too close. Things beneath her paws were more terrifying. "I... can understand why that would be less favorable than the desert."
Green eyes flickered in momentary disbelief at the colored male for said interjection. Did he never notice how Edward smelled clean? Well, when not traveling of course. Liliana blushed a little then, realizing that was something she was more likely to pick up on than another male -especially where Ed was concerned. Then a flicker of sad guilt, remembering having told Endless he looked clean... and shook her head lightly with a soft relieved sigh. Although it would not have been bad, per say, Lily could not be unhappy with her change of heart. Not when...
Edward! Her green eyes called the shock as he tumbled down the dune, so stunned that he fell she almost toppled after him. As it was Lily had to hold herself from running to him. That did not still her from spreading her wings and gliding down to Ed however. After a quick nuzzle to affirm he was indeed all right the crimson female started to giggle. Somewhat at herself for being worried when the alchemist certainly had more traveling experience than she did, and partially because Ed looked quite comical with sand clinging to his fur & clothes.

The looks went effectively ignored as Ronan paused his walking, white eyes scrunching to look in the distance. The golden hue of sand continued out till the eyes could no longer decipher it between the ground itself and the heated fuzz of the air above it. Still, with steady eyes scanning the area ahead, Ronan grinned as he spotted the familiar dark patch. From here it looked like nothing more than shrubbery, but as distance shortened, the palms would soon take familier shape. "Well, there's the beach yonder." His blue paw went up to point the direction, head turning to the others. A mass of red cloth and fur, however, caught his attention as Ed rolled down the dune like a kitsu snowball. The male simply raised a brow with a smirk, before walking down after Ed and the panicing Lily.
A nod was given to the red femme while Setsumi rolled her eyes at Ronan. Dork, always stating his quirky opinions. She paused when Ronan did, shifting her paws now and then to keep from sinking in the hot sand. Almost there. An ear flitted horizontally at the sound of heavy steps, and she turned her attention back to the couple. Ed seemed to be giving the distant lands a scrutinizing look, while Lily....let's just say her gaze was zoned out on the teen male. Setsumi shook her head before ears rushed forward, catching Ed's step on the dune edge. "Eward, watch your..." Too late. She watched as Lily darted after while she herself treaded to where they just stood, peering down at the group.

He was sand covered and slightly stunned, but otherwise unharmed.. that is if you didn't count his ego. Ed blinked and then coughed and even sneezed as he sat there.. while Lilianna came running to him with Setsumi also making her approach. Golden eyes looked up as Lily started to giggle. Ed stared at her blankly, but the laugh seemed to be infectious and he too was soon laughing at his own mishap.
Picking himself up, the alchemist gave himself a shake, sending sand flying. Ugh.. this was going to be a pain to get out of his hair and fur later, but he would worry about it later that evening.
"Are we almost there?" he then asked, thinking he'd heard Ronan say something about the beach being 'younder'. The thought of being in less arid conditions certainly was appealing and gave him some hope. He was burning up out here.

"Wha!" Lily turned her head and closed her eyes from the flying sand, a wing automatically going in front of her head to try and shield the openings there. Worse, she was still giggling & finding it difficult to stop. It was... almost refreshing in a wierd way. When Ed ws finished she stuck her tongue out at him, then laughed again since the recent dousing seemed to be holding sand in better there than on the rest of him.
Not knowing what else to do Lily circled to stand flank to flank with her love, signifying she would walk up with him and should he need her... she was there. Sand covered Edu or not. "Or I could levitate you up..." Liliana whisperered, her red muzzle close to Ed's ear. The last thing she wanted was to hurt his pride. One of the things she loved about him.

Giving a sigh, Ronan decided to join the others down the dune. Of course after the little flury of sand had left Ed to rest surely on the ground. "There that way." He hated repeating himself, and simply nodded in the direction. The general giggly attitude of love birds was something he normally stuck his tongue out. Course he didn't this time in fear of Setsumi ripping it out. Twisting his tails, he continued walking to the location at a slower pace.
A small smirk drifted to the femme's maw at their joy. Of course, giggling wasn't something she had heard in some time. Ears turned and she looked back to her colorful companion. After a moment's pause, she too followed his steps. Ed had his company, so she'd stick with hers. No need to interrupt.

Pride was certainly something Edward had a lot of. Which was all to obvious at the blank stare he gave Lilianna for a moment, before smirking a bit and shaking his head, "Naw.. I'll be fine." See? Getting himself up, Ed looked in the direction that Ronan indicated. He paused to sniff at the air, thinking he might smell a bit of a sea breeze.
He looked rather silly with the sand clinging to damp fur, but he didn't care all that much, atleast he was cooler than before. When Ronan and Setsumi continued on, so did he, glancing at Lilianna and expecting her to follow. A boyish grin given in her direction. They're almost there! He could hardly wait to back in the shade of palm trees and the cool breezes.

She smiled and nuzzled him softly, closing her eyes to the sand on his fur & hair before she giggled again & breathed it in. So what if she got some on her crimson pelt? They could always have a bath later. "Never doubted you would be."
A moment of worry was not doubt. Only natural.
Liliana padded softly at his side, just behind his shoulder so she could smile to herself at Ed's braided hair... clung to with sand. Her heart skipped a beat, just as golden eyes caught hers, followed by a boyish grin that had her insides going all topsy-turvy. Green eyes sparkled. Coming love... She quickened her pace to come alongside him fully, just barely not touching.
In its own way... the desert was quite beautiful. Still, the prospect of water and a good bath sounded marvelous. Lily would not admit it... but she would much prefer the desert's beauty through a window. Traveling as exciting, but Lily was still a housebreed kitsu. It would take a little longer to grow accustomed to the wilderness.
