Well, that was very random. Somewhere in said field, an usdia lay on the ground, listening so the little song the other usdia sang. Thatwas.. very odd. But Paco didn't care for someone's state of mind, or for anyone else in general. So he stayed where he was.
And got tripped on. "OI. " He snorted, wriggling up to his paws in annoyance after having been knocked further on the ground by the other usdia who had tripped on him. "Watchwhereyergoin! " He snorted. Sure, Paco was kind of.. hid, with his colors being tan and all. And hewas also shorte than most of the grass, especially lying down.
He stomped a hoof in irritation, tipping his ears towards Ahote to wait for some sort of apology. But he didn't truly expect one; no one ever apologized to him. but then again, this one.. wasn't bigger than him.

As he stumbled over the usdia lying on the ground, Ahote fell face first into the grass. Quickly standing up, he realized with a great deal of happiness that he had come across another Usdia! His smile returned and he jumped a tiny bit in his excitement.
"Oooh, I'm really sorry! I didn't even see you there! But hey, you're an Usdia, just like me! I've only ever met one other one, but now you're the second. Have you met any other Usdia before?"
He spoke quickly, like an excited child. And even though he might look like a foal to others, Ahote was actually a full grown stallion.
"My name's Ahote, what's yours?"

"No. " He snorted, just to shut the hippy hoppy stallion.
"My name is Paco. " He said, an ear folding backwards. He had a feeling this meeting wouldn't be so great; but then again, this was his first encounter out of the fence. Ohmigod. What if everyone out here was like this?! He was so doomed.

The bright smile on Ahote's face vanished as he received such a sharp answer from Paco. What was the deal? Was he in a bad mood or something?
"Hey, are you angry because I tripped over you? Because I'm really sorry, and I didn't mean to do it. But you shouldn't have been laying in the grass like that. Its almost the same colour of your coat, so no wonder I didn't see you!"

"No. It is my right to lie wherever I want, this is no ones land. " he blinked. "But no, I am not mad for you tripping on me. You're just too.. hyper. " He snorted. Paco was in a bad mood, oh yes. If one bothered to look more closeley, he was terribly battered and beaten, fur a mess, one eye slightly closed. He would get in better conditions with time, of course, he had just gotten away a couple daysago, but.. that wasn't exactly enough to get better.
He snorted, shrugged his shoulders, and sat. Not that this was normal, but he was just.. tired, y'know. Usually, when you're tired, you act differently.

Well, somebody had a bit of an attitude. And who was he to say that Ahote was too hyper? If Paco had the right to lay wherever he wanted, then Ahote surely had the right to be as hyper as he wanted. And anyways, Ahote didn't really think that "hyper" was the correct word. "Enthusiastic", maybe, but not "hyper".
He watched as the other pony lowered himself back to the ground again. Now that he had time to take a better look at him, he realized that he was quite the worse for wear.
"What happened to you?! Did you get in a fight?"

Gee, took him long enough.
"Yes. " Paco snorted. That was.. well, pretty stupid, y'know. His recent whereabouts were screaming at Ahote right in the face! He flicked his tail, and got back up to his paws, yawning, though realizing with an annoyance that stretching his jaw too much kind of.. hurt.
He shook his head in annoyance, which was no good for his current headache. "Where issere water? " He asked suddenly, looking around. He'd found places to drink, but they were more like shadow puddles, rather than anything truly useful.

He had hoped to get more information than just a simple "yes", but Paco didn't seem willing to give out anymore information. When he asked where there was some water, Ahote brightened back up and smiled. He knew exactly where to find some water. He knew these lands like the back of his....hoof?
"This way! There's a really nice stream over here. Follow me!"
He turned to the southwest and began trotting merrily towards the stream that was less then a mile away. He took pride in knowing where things were around here. It came in handy, and he could often help others get to places they wanted to go.

Paco sighed. Apparently, he'd brought back the hippy attitude. But hey, he was going to get water, so best not complain. Instead, he trotted after Ahote, ears back as his sore shoulders supported his weight. Soon, he broke into a gallop, as it was more.. relaxed than trotting. Trotting was just far too jumpy for him right now.
Of course, galloping for a runty creature like an usdia wasn't as fast as for a normal soquili; but Paco managed well, covering about a couple meters every stride for someone not going very fast.

As Paco pulled ahead of him, Ahote yelled after him.
"Hey, you've gotta follow me, or else you're going to get lost!"
But when Paco didn't stop, Ahote thought that maybe he was racing. He smiled and pushed himself forward, quickly gaining on Paco. Soon, he was right next to him, matching his pace.

When Ahote caught up, Paco didn't quite seem phased; he wasn't racing. He didn't even care to glance at the other usdia. Instead, he just kept going at his own pace, moving slightly away from Ahote, not quite comfortable with anyone being at his side. It was either behind, in front, or away.
Yes, thats it. He didn't trust anyone, neither did he have to.

As Ahote noticed Paco moving away, he frowned a bit and slowed down.
"Where are you going? I thought you wanted me to show you where the water was..."
He was confused by Paco's attitude. He seemed very distant, and Ahote didn't really know how to react. After all, he had asked him for help, so why was he moving away from Ahote now?

"Just because.. " He stopped, giving himself time to stop his gallop and look back at Ahote. "I asked you to show me where water was, doesn't mean I want you right at my flanks " He snorted. This was perhaps a rude thing to say, but it was obvious Paco was rather jumpy right now, he'd just beeen beat up not to long ago!
"But ya already showed me wich way it is. So if ya dun want, I can handle. " Yes, he could always handle. That was Paco.

Ahote still didn't understand why Paco was being so ...distant, for lack of a better word. Didn't he want to make friends?
"Well, I'm a little thirsty, too, so I'll go with you. Its not too far now. Just by those trees."
He gestured towards a patch of young trees not too far away. He didn't want to seem like he was clinging to Paco, so he started off on his own, heading towards the water.
