Reasons for being Friend...
I. In The Sorcerer's Stone, why did Snape Attempt to protect Harry from Professor Quirrel?
II. Why didn't Snape go immediatly to the graveyard upon being summoned by Voldemort in The Goblet of Fire?
III. In The Order of the Phoenix, why did Snape alert the Order that Harry was facing danger at the ministry?
IV. In The Order of the Phoenix, why did Snape agree to teach harry Occumency?
V. Dumbledore tells Harry he trusts Snape in The Order of the Phoenix and again it is implied in The Half Blood Prince. Would Dumbledore, the most powerful wizar of his time, misplace his trust in Snape?

Reasons for being Foe...
I. Beginning with The Sorcerer's Stone, Snape displays a dislike for Harry. Is a childhood grudge against his father reason enough to hate Harry or is it something more?
II. Why was Snape so set on expelling Harry from Hogwarts in The Chamber of Secrets?
III. In The Goblet of Fire, what were Snape and Karkaroff conspiring about?
IV. Knowing the danger Harry faced, why did Snape continue to goad Sirius in The Order of the Pheniox?
V. In The Half Blood Prince, what were Snape's motives for his Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa?
...And of course there is the most obvious reason. We'll leave out the details for anyone who may not have yet read the book(s).

I also think Snape is good. I would say why, but it would spoil it for those who haven't read Book 6....maybe I'll elaborate later.

I really think Snape loved Lily but I don't know if he's good or not. I think he's more good than evil though.

Anyways, I've read it the last one, but my opinion was the he was bad before I read it all.
