Shizuka Doumeki-San Captain

Throughout the series, Watanuki has constantly stated that he hates Doumeki. But even though he is always saying it, there are many things he does that scream the opposite. I won't go far enough to say it is love, but simply to state that Watanuki does not hate Doumeki.
First of all, Doumeki is always asking for outrageous bento lunches. While Watanuki says that he does not take orders, he almost always makes Doumeki exactly what he wants anyway. He can play it off with 'I like to cook,' or that he couldn't think of anything else to cook after Doumeki's order. We all know that those are just excuses!
Now that that's said and done, I decided to go through all the volumes (I've done up to 8 for this, but will add more later), since Doumeki's appearance and look for even the smallest things that shows Watanuki doesn't hate Doumeki.
this one isn't as important, and is why I have decided to put it as the first point (it is also the first thing from Volume 2), right after Doumeki is introduced, Himawari asks if it is true that Doumeki lives in a temple, and Watanuki says yes If he hated Doumeki even that early on, why would he even care where Doumeki lives?
Next comes with the tenshi-san arc in volume 3. (Here is a little side rant...) Why they insist on calling it 'Angel-san', I do not know, since the proper name is Kokkuri or Kokkuri-san.(I am completely disregarding what Yuuko said...) Oh well, anyway, when Doumeki caught Watanuki on the roof, a spirit got a hold of his arm, and he was injured. Watanuki does seem to be a little concerned at this point. Later when Doumeki says he will start archery the following week, Watanuki says to Doumeki, "Don't you think it's a little to early for that? I don't care how good at archery you are..." More than one thing right there; it shows that Watanuki is concerned, and that he has noticed that Doumeki is good at archery. He must go to the competitions even this early on then?
Now on to Volume 4! Valentine's Day chocolate is so much fun, and Watanuki makes Fondant Au Chocolat for Yuuko, with some sent to the Tsubasa crew, one for him, and he saves one for Himawari. Of course, it is eaten by Doumeki. Later the Zashiki Warashi takes it from him Yuuko tels him that Doumeki has lost his soul and Watanuki asks how he can get it back; which of course will cost him. (He seems to think that Doumeki's condition is his fault...) So he goes after the Zashiki Warashi to get the chocolate back (not knowing that she was planning on giving it to him anyway...)
Now on to the identical twins, also in Volume 4! Near the middle of this part, he tries to convince the older twin to talk to Doumeki, and he actually said something.. kind of nice about Doumeki, and didn't get angry. At the end of this part, he is talking to Doumeki, reflecting on something Doumeki had said earlier. Then tells Doumeki he'll make him whatever he wants for lunch the next day. So he actually pays attention to things Doumeki says.
Let's see... Near the beginning f Volume 5, Watanuki is helping Doumeki study. May be payment for the hydrangeas, but who really cares... At the Night Fair, we get to hear so of Watanuki's thoughts; one specifically, "...even still, I respect him a little bit..." Even Watanuki's thoughts are confusing. (his feelings for Doumeki are confusing him even now). He is trying to convince himself that he does not like Doumeki... It also seems that with more volumes, he is talking more and more to Doumeki with a decrease in the actual 'fighting'. Too bad Volume 5 is mostly Doumeki doing things for Watanuki, I actually feel bad for him; Watanuki is so mean!
Even with all of the things Doumeki does for Watanuki, he continues the one-sided arguments, And while none of this stops, something changes about their relationship in Volume 6, after the encounter with the lady in the park. This is near the end where Yuuko tells Watanuki that Doumeki didn't want him to disappear, and that he needed to decide how he was going to treat Doumeki from now on. (Just a foreshadowing thin, nothing special..)
Starting in Volume 7, he is walking to school, and finds himself in front of Doumeki's temple. Subconscious thing I guess..He helps Doumeki with some of his chores and gets stuck in a spider web that Doumeki helps him with. Soon later, the grudge from the spider seals his eye shut. Watanuki doesn't like this and later asks Yuuko how he can fix this, In order to transfer the Spider's Grudge to himself, he will have to do something worse to the spider. Watanuki loses his right eye, and Doumeki can use his again. This is so far the best example of something Watanuki has done for Doumeki, and this could probably be used as the one example that Watanuki does not hate Doumeki I mean, who the hell gives up an eye for someone?
In Volume , he receives half of Doumeki's right eye. If he hated Doumeki, he probably would have refused it. After he receives the eye, he passes out, and Yuuko says something very interesting; "When someone makes a connection, there is always something shared. And so people will never be free. It's that which brings out fun... and sadness... and love." The 'and love' part is in it's own bubble, separated from the rest of the text, and is much larger than the other text, showing its importance.
Well, that is all for now... I will go through Volumes 9-12 later, and I will post more. So for now, we can discuss this.

Sakurazuka-sama My thoughts exactly! Watanuki is so full of crap. He obviously doesn't hate Doumeki. I do, however, think he is a bit jealous.

Mister Watanuki Watanuki was not in love with Doumeki first...Doumeki fell for the handsomeness that is Watanuki! I never said anything about love.. lol. But I am sure Doumeki had feelings for Watanuki first anyway, so I agree with you.

Might I add that when something is wrong, in the most recent chapters, he trusts Doumeki enough to tell him what is going on.

he even told doumeki about forgeting his parents names.. do u think he would of done that at the beginning of the series? im not sure he would.
