Atae was treading in a rather zig-zagging fashion in the general direction of HQ, thinking that maybe... she'd go see Terasu. Or borrow a different alchemy book. Or... something.
She'd just gotten back from training with Zell, but even though she was a bit tired she was feeling restless again. In a way she almost wished she could go on an adventure like Ed and Lily had a few days before... Not that she wasn't enjoying life as it was. There was just... something missing.
Her current path led near a stream and she stopped to take a drink, thinking over everything that had happened recently and still not coming up with anything to help Endless... or Valefor... still missing Ed and Lily... still being driven insane by Bryna asking for help with her letters...
She needed a place to go sit and be for a while. That was the problem. Her room was no longer a sanctuary between Bryna's lockpicking and teleporting... and mind reading... Unfortunately the only place she could think to go and just sit for a while was up on the Mountain where she'd met Riku... and she'd wind up thinking and worrying about him if she went there. Where was some peace when you needed it?
Not that she was even sure she wanted to just go sit by herself, either... She and Ed and Terasu may have been like siblings to a degree, but they were all three of them the "follow the wind" sort. Atae less than the boys, but even she had some wanderlust in her... as evidenced by her bouts of restlessness. But still... she wanted somewhere to wander to... and know someone was gonna be there when she showed up. She had long ago given up on expecting her "brothers" to be anywhere she thought they ought to be.
So there she stood, lapping water from the stream, almost but not quite agitated, and feeling rather blah about life in general.

Wow. The meadow grass swayed lightly under the light breeze, like a sea of fine strands. Ears quivered, as the feathers behind them were complaining of the grass brushing and tickling them. A soft sigh turned into a yawn, and green eyes opened against the purple fur.
It took a moment for the kitsu to get his bearings passed the sleepy mind. Terasu lazily scanned the field before him, finding it empty. Well, almost empty. His nose twitched as his body finally recognized the pressure against his side. He smiled before even turning, and the smile only widened when he did. Heh, seems Charity fell asleep too. His head rested down, enjoying to see her so relaxed, without a scowl or smirk on her face. Did he wear just as many faces, and for the same reasons? He hoped not, it seemed too hard.
Something caught the corner of his sight, and the male turned his head curiously. Laying carelessly a few feet away was Charity's black headband. Oops. With a quiet stretch, he stood carefully and walked to the cloth, picking it up in his maw. Well, he hadn't lied when he said she was like a spitfire. And even now, sober after everything, Terasu felt like a burden was lifted from his shoulders. All concerns and hesitation were no longer present. Instead, they were filled with confidence and comfort. All thanks to the kitsu with green hair and her fiesty personality.
Paws moved back beside the femme, and he sat down next to her side while nuzzling her shoulder. "Charity?" If she needed rest, he'd let her be. Considering he had been under the influence of poison. Heh, no one complained though. He continued his nuzzling, tail ends giving feather light brushes to her flank and tails.

She slept soundly up until the point that Terasu was nuzzling her. A somewhat odd feeling as her family hadn't always been that affectionate... but she did like it. The brushing of tails across flank caused a faint smile to appear on her muzzle, just before golden eyes opened and she yawned. Limbs stretching as she lay on her side, "Hm... what?" she asked groggily, tilting her head to look at Terasu questioningly. Had she really fallen asleep? Huh... well she had been pretty comfortable after all.
She seemed content to lay where she was at, green tails thumping lightly against the grass. It was still daylight, so she must not have slept long.

Atae left the stream and turned in toward HQ, passing along the edge of a meadow. Her eyes roved about aimlessly up until the point she spotted a pair of familiar feathered ears. But what was Terasu doing? He picked up something and went back where he had been and.. was someone else there? She couldn't tell through the grass but... was he being affectionate with someone?
She got that sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach when she realized the boys had left her behind... Now they both seemed to have found someone and Atae was still... Well, drifting seemed the only word for it.
She padded a bit closer, curious as to who this person was in the grass. The thought that it might be who it actually was didn't cross her mind... she'd been told Charity was dead, after all. "Terasu!"

"Heh, you got bed head." He pawed lightly at her green hair and dropped the headband before her. Her own yawn made him do so again, darn contagious action. She remained laying, and he didn't bother her to get up. He on the other hand was wide awake now, gaining energy lost and frankly hungry. He tilted his head, finding the rabbit remains eaten clean.
Head perked up alertly and he glanced around. Another was here, and he knew that scent. Her voice soon followed, and Terasu turned bashfully in the direction of the slope. "Hey there Atae." Still, he wasn't concerned knowing Atae was an agreeable kitsu. Hopefully.

"Puh" was the responce to the fact that she had messy hair. The femme kitsu sitting up just enough to come her claws through her bangs to get them straightened again, before taking the headband and slipping it back on her head. However, it was then that she heard a voice... a feminine voice... calling Terasu's name. Erk.
They had just discussed how they would behave if the other got unwanted attentions by the opposite sex. Charity hadn't forgotten... and she turned a learing eye towards Atae. She didn't know what his relationship was with her... but for the moment... her very presence was cause for suspicion. Oh wait... didn't she slap that one before? Huh.

Atae padded closer at the answering call, looking with curiosity at the grass in hopes of spotting the mystery kitsu. When she did she stopped, an incredulous look on her face, and sat down.
There were a number of things on her mind at this point. That Charity had a different... feel? than her father; that maybe she had interrupted something that day; mostly, though, was a very confusing state of life where she had been told there was no longer breath. "...Can Terasu bring the dead back now or is self-ressurection one of your talents?" she asked dryly.
Maybe the bolder shift in the belted femme came from the sheer oddity of the situation... maybe from a sense of familiarity due to being in that former tense situation. Maybe something else. Whatever the reason, Atae saw no point in being fearful at the moment... though the absence of any sort of aggression was also notable.

Eyes shifted back as Charity moved slightly, giving his own glance. He didn't forget his words, but it was only his friend Atae. So, if Charity got pushy, he'd just have to be too to keep the peace.
His head swivelled back when Atae was among them, with an expression he predicted. After all, last she knew Charity was dead. And on horrible terms at that. He started at her tone, and smiled reassuringly. "No talent of mine. She simply...survived." Had she not been Envy's daughter, then most likely she'd be dead. Terasu stood and walked half way between Charity and his belted friend. "Atae? You alright; how's your arm?"

She remained serious with a small frown on her muzzle, watching Atae carefully... scrutinizingly. The question being given a flick of the ear, "If you mean I can regenerate... then yes." That bite hadn't been a pleasant experience, and its one she'd rather not recall. The sin's daughter looked on as Terasu got up and came between her and Atae, listening silently to the words that were exchanged. She wasn't feeling incredibly social..but then... when did she ever? Aside when being around her family or with Terasu. Thus, she just sat there and held her tongue for the time being.

Atae listened thoughtfully, and didn't fail to notice the other femme's distate for the question, or at least the memory behind it. Well... subject closed. She had her answer.
She glanced over at Terasu now. "Am I interrupting? I saw you being cuddly at her... brother dear."
The last bit spoken in a playful tone, though everything else about her remained serious. She'd have given him a noogie or something but Charity looked like she'd bite if Atae got too close to him. Even that made Atae sigh softly in an exasperation at her little sibling jealousy. "Geez... you and Ed get girlfriends at practically the same time... I feel like I'm gonna turn into a spinster."
She rolled her paw in a demonstrative manner. "Good. Lil and her brother helped heal it. Just landed on it wrong... I'm learning about paw-to-paw from one of Lil's housemates now, though... so if it happens again I know to roll." She grinned sheepishly at that.

At least they were punching blows with words. With that, Terasu could sigh. Ears tinted at Atae's honest questioning and Terasu just chuckled it off. "No, don't concern yourself." Just thank gawd she came later than sooner. That had the male sweat-dropping, shaking away such thought.
The brown femme's sigh made him peek up, but her words answered his silent question. He padded forward slowly, before grinning and turning the noogie on her. Not too hard, considering her small frame. "You're no spinster! Your time will come soon enough." The noogie ended, Terasu patting down some ruffled chocolate locks before pulling away. "That's good to hear; lessons will do you good in the long run."
He backstepped the distance back to Charity, the side of his face grazing her eartip. "But, it is true. I do have relations with Charity now." Atae seemed pretty calm about such discovery. He only hoped she wasn't hiding any negative thoughts against him and his decision. He'd rather face any discontent now than later down the road.

Wise choice of words there, Atae... she heard the word 'brother' and Charity almost immediately relaxed. If they were brother and sister, then she had nothing to worry about. The mention of Ed having a girlfriend though, caused a somewhat triumphant smirk to cross her muzzle, until she realized what she was doing and the expression quickly fell away. *cough* She knew nothing about such things... nope.
Terasu's verbal confirmation of their relationship resulted in Charity glancing at him sidelong when he sat next to her. Ear flicking lightly when he touched it.
She remained quiet and let them talk, unless she was spoken to directly. She had little to say to Atae since well.. she didn't really know her. And Charity wasn't the type to apologize either.

Atae didn't think an apology would have been forthcoming, in any case... and really she wasn't going to ask for one. She'd never really been sure about what Charity was going to do that day, but... well, Atae had done what she thought she had to and defended Terasu, and Charity had simply retaliated after Atae's actions. As odd as things were now... it seemed all had been forgiven and wanted to be forgotten. Anyway... she actually owed Charity after a fashion for the rather eye-opening experience. Not that she was going to thank the green-haired femme, either.
"Hmm..." It was the only verbal reaction she made to Terasu's confirmation for a few moments as she looked thoughtfully at Charity. No... there really was no reason for bad blood. Terasu had accepted Charity's advances, apparently, and hopefully Charity wouldn't have any reason to be aggressive toward any of them without provocation. As long as no one Atae cared about was in any real danger... and since Terasu was doing this of his own free will... she actually didn't see any problem with it. "I guess I should wish you two happiness then. Though... I gotta say I'm glad you decided on this after Ed and Lily left. I'm sure Ed at least would have plenty to say about it. At least you'll have some peace and quiet for a while." She grimaced. "Though I'm sure I'll get an earful too when he finds out I knew about it."
She stood and fidgeted for a moment, looking around. Well... she felt like a third wheel at the moment, so she decided she was going to get moving. She just wasn't sure where yet. Unless... "You two want me to show you where the house is? If you ever wanna come over." She looked to Charity again. "I'm pretty sure the others won't mind. Though... Shoom and the kits can get annoying." They'd been all too annoying before she left to come out here. And she was pretty sure Chairty understood the duality of the part about the others not minding. Her group was... surprisingly open minded in most cases.

Terasu sat back in the quiet, just observing reactions and tucking them away. He had already done his forgiving and forgetting, if not still in such a process. The best part of it was Charity was willing and surprising agreeable in this path they'd taken.
Atae's own silent observation left him in a jittery state, turning to Charity with a placid face. He hoped this bond would be in a way a sort of pact. But that could only go so far as people accepting it. Eyes widened as Atae pointed out timing, and certain kitsus to discover the news. Ugh, that was going to be very complicated, what with not knowing the whole story. And Ed's temper...
Oh well, he chose his ground for good or worse. Terasu had broken no bonds, though he was aware of the strain he placed on them. It was up to his friends whether or not to curse him and break the bond themselves. He knew he wouldn't take that role. "Thank you Atae, it means alot. Heh, I'll try and keep Ed off your back for you." No one else should suffer from his own decision. The male tilted his head at Atae's proposal. "Really, you don't mind?" He turned to his now mate with a challenging glint. "Are you up for it?"

Charity had been attracted to Terasu the first time she'd laid eyes on him. You have to admit, he's quite the looker. She had been willing to somewhat tame herself to order to be with him. She'd never wanted anything so badly in her life. Terasu was the only kitsu outside of her family that she really fancied, and well.. she got what she wanted. Seems like a happy ending, no?
She remained straight faced at the mention of Ed. Like the other two, she knew the fullmetal pipsqueak would be upset. He had a right to be, really.. but she wasn't going to verbally admit to that.
The idea of going to Atae's household caused her brows to raise. A bemused smirk coming to her while she shruged, "Sure, why not. I'm up for it." She'd never been welcomed into anyone's home before, so this could be interesting.
