Kalm wandered through the open field, aimlessly, it seemed. Once again he needed time away from his helicopter-mother. He knew she did just mean well, but sometimes it was a bit much. At times like this, he really wished his father was here. But then again, if he was, then this problem wouldn't have come in the first place! Realizing that his mind was racing in circles, Kalm slowly ascended a low hill and looked over a valley. He hadn't met that many other Soquili before, only a green foal that had a heavy accent, a fluttercorn, and a ghost-vamipre offspring. He hope for once he could just meet someone normal, but that never happens now, does it?

Ignacia was a year and a half. Time had flown for her… After turning a year old, she had realized that her mother was pregnant for the first time.. Yes, that’s right she was adopted. She had heard a few whispers of “That poor girl” and her response had been to nearly burn down a tree from the temper that had followed. Right now she stood on the edge of a field and just looked out over it with almost vacant amber eyes. Her mind was so far away thinking that someone could’ve danced around in front of her and she wouldn’t have caught a single thing. Picking up a hoof and stomping it down, letting the flames snap and collect ‘Naci took off running. Her mane and tail snapped and broke as the blue flames make a strange silhouette as she ran.

Scanning ahead, Kalm saw a very interesting sight. A figure, most likely a Soquili from the way it was galloping, seemed to have flames encasing its body. Was it on fire? Wondering, Kalm dashed after it. If the Soquili was on fire, it needed help! Soon he was a bit behind. He noted that it was a foal. Kalm still couldn't see the reason for the flames. He called out, "Hey! Err, are you okay?"

‘Naci’s mind was off in her own thoughts and she didn’t realize that she was being followed by someone. Snorting, the not-quite two-year old stopped almost immediately and spun around to stare at the stallion. He was blue with a black mane and tail that were braided and some green decorative feathers were on him as well. Was she okay? “Oi.. Yeah I’m fine.. What are ye babblin’ ‘bout?” Her sides heaved up and down from the quick bolting run she had just taken and from the extra adrenaline that came from being “snuck-up on.”

Once Kalm looked at her more closely, he realized that the flames seemed to be growing on her, a part of the foal. "Oh, sorry. I though you were on fire!" He chuckled to himself. How stupid! Of course, with the Soquili, anything can happen! But to him, this was another great opportunity to learn more! Eyes ablaze with determination, he asked, "Please, can you tell me what those flames are/how they even exist?!" He knew he probably would end up scaring the foal away with his rantings, but when posed with a mystery such as this, he just had to know!

‘Naci simply smiled while the stallion looked her over. It wasn’t that she was vain, it was simply that her mane and tail were an unusual color for fire and not THAT many others had manes and tails that consisted of it. Probably a couple others that she hadn’t met.. “Dun trouble yerself thinkin’ on it.” It was a mistake that had been made on more than one occasion and really didn’t bother her. How they exhisted and what they are? “I.. I would tell ye more if I knew it.. All I know is that when I hatched I lit me basket on fire an waited til it nearly exploded an’ here I am now.” She had been abandoned and found by her adopted mother.. “Try another question?”

Hanging his head in sorrow when Ignacia couldn't tell him more about her flames, Kalm sighed. He started to sigh again when she said she didn't know much about it, then snorted out in laughter when he heard that Ignacia had set her basket on fire. "Is that true now?" he chuckled. This little foal must be quite a handful to her adoptive mother. "Do you do those kinds of things a lot?
he asked.

‘Naci almost wished that she knew the answer to his question because he seemed so sad that she didn’t. “Aye. When I left it I guess I blew it up.” Her mother liked to tease her frequently not to let anybody ever make her actually mad. She grinned at him for a moment and pranced forward, letting the extra energy in her limbs flow around quite happily. “Oh no.. I’ve got such a sweet temper that I rarely lose it.” Okay, so that was just a smallll fib.

Hmm...he thought to himself. "So that must mean the basket didn't like you in there?" Kalm sighed again. He just could not think of any plausible solution to the predicament! Moving on, he commented, "Well, thats nice to hear. Supposedly many mares are ill tempered," he coughed, "like my sister, so I've heard through the grapevine," Kalm looked through the corners of his eyes. He never met her, but from what he heard, Kalm should be glad he hasn't. He continued, "Its nice to hear that you have such a sweet disposition."

‘Naci felt the strangling desire to burst into laughter. She was being called sweet-tempered. A pain in the rump, ball of fire, and a few others - yes. Sweet? Not so much. Her grin made her face look even younger than it was filled with simple sunshine or perhaps flames. He was an odd stallion to be so curious about tempers and fire and stuff, but that’s all right. Since when was normal very much fun? “Who’s yer sister?” She couldn’t really remember meeting any mares that had that shade of blue to them although the very black of his mane did remind her of her uncle’s mate… Hmm…

A bit shocked that the foal had asked about his sister, Kalm said, "Well, to be honest, I never met her. My family was split into three groups. My sister went with my father, and my other brother sort of lived alone. So I've heard, of course...Anyways, so I've never known my brother, father, or sister. But from other Soquili I've talked with, she seems to be quite a handful." Kalm chuckled. "Her name is Azariel. Have you met her before?"

‘Naci’s head canted to the side as she listened diligently. Very rarely did someone tell her some bit of information and she’d forget it. Once, when her uncle had said a naughty word and she’d repeated it, he had accused her (teasingly) of being a very sensitive sponge. Soaking up anything even close to her. “I know Az! She’s with me uncle. If I’m rememberin’ they have two little boys. Faolen an’ Finn.” Her memory wasn’t failing her at all, she was positive. Would he find that information joyful or painful? If it was the latter perhaps she’d play dumb.

At this, Kalm nearly toppled over sideways and rolled down the hill. "Ah ha ha ha...of course. Normally I would assume someone like you would be pulling my leg, but you never know. Guess I'll have to believe you." Kalm sighed and tossed his head non-chalantly. He wasn't that overjoyed by the news or even affected much in any way, but he knew that his mother, Marina, would make a huge deal and try to track her down somewhere.
"A mate and two foals already, huh? I would never imagined she would be the fast-mover type..." He chuckled. "Say, Ignacia, do you think you could tell me about my sister? Anything you know? I'd like to know about her mate, if they are mated, too. Your uncle, I would presume?"
