ok so one of my favorite types of music is metal but everyone always says that its bad and evil...ill admit it doesnt exactly invite the spirit sometimes but just because it's loud and different people assume that its bad. but the point im trying to make here is that metal is singled out as being bad but many bands and songs that seem to be accepted by many other members have more suggestive themes and explicit language than a lot of metal music. opinions are good

I'm not too fond of it myself, but as long as the lyrics are clean I don't see anything wrong with this genre. Just try not to listen to it on the Sabbath, ok?

I don't listen to metal. I hate it. It burns my ears out. razz But that's not because I think it is evil. I tend to love classical and pretty sounding music. I do listen to rock'n'roll and that's about it.
But just as kingdom says, if it has clean lyrics, I don't see why it would be bad. The strength of youth says to pay attention to how you feel and don't listen to music that drives away the spirit, encourages immorality and violence, uses curse words, and all. If it makes you feel good, then thats good. razz

well i guess it depends on the person because some people cant be relaxed with loud music but nothing (besides going to the temple) makes me feel more relaxed than hearing some awesome guitar riffs and fast drumming...i guess im just weird like that

If it makes you feel good, that's good then. Sometimes I listen to a lot of rock'n'roll when I want to relax. It puts me in a good mood. ^^

Ok, but promise me you won't listen to it on the sabbath. Metal is really loud and that isn't exactly appropriate for the sabbath, even if the song and lyrics are ok.
