Ok, since all my friends in real life and on the internet
have failed to help me other than laughing at my stupidity,
I decided to come to you guys =(

I'm 16 and a junior at my high school. I am a member of
our marching band and colorguard. And for one year
I've liked the same guy. He's a year older then me in school and age.
Yet I could honestly care less.
He's dated my best friend and she's just shoved it down my throat countless times.
My other good friend called him on my sweet 16, the day after school ended.
He asked to talk to me.
him: Hey, sorry I couldn't make it.
I was giddy, as such, and said it was alright.
Then he said "I wish I could have gone. My last high school party."
me: What are you talking about? You still have your senior year, don't you?
him: Yea, but I'm dual enrolling. Only taking one high school class: photography.
me: what about band?
him: Oh I quit.
and that was it.
I never got to see him again.
My friend called him back up saying "Hey, you know. She likes you and this how you
repay her?!"
him: I have a girlfriend.
her: well, if you didn't, would you go out with her?
him: I don't know, maybe?
Should I try to be friends and work my way up?
Even though he could care less...
