The sight before the pridelands was nothing short of breathtaking as the sun set, silently leading towards the night. Far away from the rock, a copper creature sat huddled with her back to a large rock, her form stark and shimmering. The sunset set the golden hues of her pelt askew, glowing almost as her eyes sat wide at the sight before her. It was the nature that caught Semine's eye the most, and at that precise moment she was at a loss, silenced for words and just gazing at the one thing she could never quite explain.
She took a deep breath and relaxed on her forepaws, her weight pushing them down until her belly was all the way to the ground. With a yawn, she simply relaxed in the dying light, enjoying the silence of being alone as well as just finding a way to collect her thoughts. It wasn't as if she disliked the fact she had eight other siblings, but sometimes it was took much for her simple needs and she just had to get out and relax a bit before it overwhelmed her. And so, the princess simply stayed in the light, hoping none would come looking for her any time soon and ruin the chance she made for herself.

Tufah, unaware of the princess, took a bounding leap and scrambled up onto the large rock. Had she taken a few steps forward, Semine would have come into view over the edge of it. However, upwind from the other cub and with eyes only for the sunset over the Pridelands she didn't notice her. Which was lucky since she needed a moment to calm down, catch her breath and draw in her small claws. The stress of her unusal cubhood sometimes was wearing. When others played, she tried to improve on her skills over having fun. And always, she ran through Taka's story in her mind....
So she'd stalked away from her siblings this night , prepared to stay away as along as possible so long as she didn't have to put up with them any longer. Tufah wanted to be the best she could be and her family, well - she loved them, respected them but it didn't mean she had to like them most of the time. Right now all the reddish female wanted was to view the lands she belonged to at this beautiful time of day.

If she heard the sound of claws on the rocks, Semine showed no inclination or movement. With a soft sigh, she took one last look at the light before turning her head away from it for the night. It was when she turned that her copper eyes trailed upwards and she caught a flash of red.
But it was gone as she blinked, and all she could do was assume it was a flash of light, and she turned to look back to her rock. Nodding slowly, she padded through the dirt and didn't look back, but had she done so she would have seen Tufah settled atop the rock and in the light, looking the same way she just had.

Well, Tufah wasn't making contact. If she heard the pathetic sigh, and the golden-brown form padding away, she had no inclination or movement. All she did was snarl loudly. Go away, you miserable little creature! Get away from this rock. Had I but known one of you were about...
"Good evening, you majesty." She called after the other cub, not turning away from the sun and with a sarcasticly happy little smile on her face. She'd meant it as a goodbye. And a good riddence. She wasn't in a good mood.

Semine felt herself pause completly at the greeting, her ears perking before she turned and looked over her shoulder. Upon the sight of the red lioness cub, the copper one turned completly and blinked her rusty eyes.
"Oh...good evening..." She said a blit slowly, her ears falling slightly as she studied the form of the other. It was a cub she had not met before, though there were many she did not see in her sheltered life, and so it confused her just slightly at the greeting. It was Matlai who enjoyed the attention of his blood, not she, and so every time it happened her ignorace and blissful nature was a bit disrupted.
So, she sat there stark-still, a bit surprised and a bit whistful in her thoughts as the sunlight streamed it's last few minutes of light down upon the two.

Something about her higher vantage point pleased Tufah as she looked down on Semine. Her primal instincts where that she had the advantage if she should fight or ambush. And in a purely symbolic way, it gave her a postion to more importance on her rock, that was almost like a throne. It made her pleased without knowing why, inthe same way the warming touch of the last sunlight was pleasing.
"Yes, it's a beautiful one, isn't it? The Pridelands are such a lovely place in the evening." The snarl died down, mearly a hint of a growl in an otherwise charming voice. Now now, Tufah told herself, anger will get you no where. Use your wits.

And charming it was, causing Semine to flash a pretty smile, meek perhaps but nothing too stunning. Instead, she took a step closer, not thinking of anything too dangerous since the Pridelands were safe in her mind. Clearly, she had yet to discover why her grandfather was not there her whole life.
"It is really a wonder, myself being so lucky as to be born here. Mastema, one of the scouts and a cousin of mine says there are many other, more dangerous places," Settling on her paws, she reflected upon that a moment before going on, "Though I can only hope I get lucky enough to travel when I am older..."
It had been awhile since she had seen a new face and one her age, so Semine for once found her maw moving a mile a minute, the smile still settled while her soft eyes glimmered at what she assumed was a new friend.
"Tell me, you must live in these lands, but have you ever been out of the borders?"

"Oh I live in these lands. Have done my short life luckily."
Tufah had nodded where appropriate and been a 'good listener' - she already knew that people liked to be listened to. She'd swiftly come to the conclusion that Semine was one of those sweet cubs. Combined with her royal position, this was an intriging possibility. Could charming the royals help her out later in life? This was an oppertunity to plant seeds of a plan...
"And yes, I've been out of our lands. Not too far and I've not met any rogues yet, but since I plan to travel when I'm older too...though I'd always return here of course. The Pridelands are perfect."

"Oh..." Was her whimsy reply, a bit disappointed that this female had not been out and about like a few others had been. While she had been traveling, Semine could only assume that it hadn't been to the forest of water or the large sea of light dirt that Mastmea spoke of. At least maybe she would have told a thing or two without any reservations. Eyes fluttering down to her paws, she kept silent a moment as the appendages played with a few stray grasses in the dirt, dainty as always in an effort to not get too dusty. Bath time was fun, but only if there weren't eight others squabbling around near by.
"I could never leave the lands for so long, even though I don't spend as much time playing with my siblings...I couldn't imagine a life without them..." Her smile returned at the thought of them, thinking of both their perks and their downsides, and she looked towards Tufah with curiosity if the female would indulge in her own family as well.

"I'm the same. We all sort of do our own thing but I'd kill anyone who hurt my brothers and sister. Can't help but love them." Tufah's claws were extended slowly in and out as she thought about it, the only action that'd give away the fact she would actually want to kill - or at least get to hit - anyone who harmed one of her siblings. Luckily it was hidden by the rock her her tone was still light and friendly.
"I think I'd be able to leave the lands for a long while. There's several interesting places I wish to visit, like the Graveyard, the Jungle...but I'll return here." She studied the other cub. "Anyway...how many siblings do you have? I don't think I've met anyone from your family before."

She laughed lightly at the way Tufah expressed her love for her siblings, not catching the truth behind it and just seeing it as a way to show how one feels. Moving across on her belly, her smile turned to a grin as she looked up at the red lioness, copper eyes gleaming with contentment.
When she finally asked about Semine's siblings, the princess perked up, "Well...I have eight other siblings..." She said with a bit of a nervous undertone, "We are big, but it helps to make it so everyone has a best friend...Matlai always is dragging me around on adventures, but mostly I love to sit back and watch them play..."
Drifting into the memories, she looked to her paws before an idea popped up, "Oh, if you want to meet others, I can always bring you to Priderock someday!"

"I have a brother called Matisho I'm close to. He likes playing alot to, while I'm a bit more laidback. Funny, we're sort of alike. Though I don't have so many siblings. Four brothers and a sister." Oh how ironic! She'd have to tell her brother later that he had a name like one of the dear royal cubs.
Tufah lept down off the rock with ease and padded towards Semine. Hmm, she was a bit smaller than her majesty...how annoying! But she must remember, charming friendly...let none of her bitterness show.
"I'd like that. I've been up the back trails to the top of Priderock but not seen the bit inside, the main cave. And it's nice meeting new people, y'know?"

"I completely understand!" Semine said with a nod, noting silently the name of her brother before a sudden thought brought a heat to her cheeks. Scraping meekly at the dirt and grass below, she let out a nervous chuckle.
"I'm sorry, I've forgotten my manners, my name is Semine, and it is a pleasure meeting a new face in these lands," Nodding her head in greeting, she paused for a second before going on with her prior thoughts.
"Also...I can easily take you even to see my mother and father, father loves meeting all of our friends, says it helps him make friends too or something like that...he tries to get to know everyone!" She wrinkled her nose at the thought, more because she couldn't imagine doing that task with the sheer number of pridelanders around them.

"I'd love to meet them sometime. I'd offer the same to you, but we're moving constantly at the moment so it may be harder to find my home that yours." Really, Tufah didn't want her pretty little 'friend' to get pounced on by Mat or something and ruin her oppertunity. Over time maybe she'd feel real kindship towards Semine but she was too angry inside this morning to think of anything but her ambitions.
"I really should be getting back soon...but where are my manners." She grinned, pretending to have forgotton, and joking about it. "I'm called Tufah. It's been nice meeting you Semine."

Tilting her head, she nodded a bit in understanding at the offer, before pouting at the idea of her new friend leaving. But with one look at the setting light, she too realized it was time to get home before someone came hunting. The downside of being royalty, she thought with a bit of a frown, before getting back onto things.
"The pleasure is all mine!" She said with a bit of a chirp, "I do hope we can meet again Tufah!" And with that, she did a sort of bow with her head before grinning and rushing off, hoping to make it home before anyone took note of her absence. Sure she was a rebel when leaving, but she would always be the good little girl at heart.
And all along her run, she thought of the new friend she made, not even clued in to how much connection they really had. Or what the future held for them as well.
