 Khael was lazing next to a shallow stream, at once soaking up the warmth of the sun and cooling off via her three tails which she had dipped in the water. Her varied light & dark pelt finally shone with real health again, and while she still had not recovered fully from her old injury, she was doing much better. Her steps were still slow and measured, at least most of the time, and she had overcome her shuffling steps and no longer stumbled every few paces. What she could not recover in speed she had gained in strength; both of body and of character.
She was wary as ever she was around strangers, and really was only at ease around Valefor, her friend, and around Llyr... her mate. He meant everything to her. In fact; the weather was just right, the grass was soft, the sun was warm, the water cool, and the one thing that was missing that would make the day perfect was Llyr. She'd gone to visit Valefor earlier in the day and paused here on her way back to the den she shared with Llyr. Out of a sudden hunch she made a soft calling sound to see if he was near as she hoped.

 Ah, he had been caught. Llyr chuckled as he heard the chirp from Khael, certainly unable to resist the call of his mate. He had been watching her for a while now, marveling at how she had grown and flourished during their time together and figuring out that he was happier than he had ever been before. She could walk with such confidence now... It made Llyr so proud of her. Standing slowly from his hiding place in the brush, he returned the chirping call, stepping forward leisurely to join his mate at the stream, moving to nuzzle gently at her ears. "So you found me, my dear love," he whispered in her ear, stepping lightly into the water and shivering just slightly. "Did you know I was there?"

Khael chuckled softly and flicked one of her wet tails toward Llyr playfully. "I had a feeling, love..." She stood and moved to stand with him and leaned against him, a soft, delighted rumble vibrating in her chest. "I ssseem to be much betterrr at feeling yourrr prrresssenccce thesse daysss." She nibbled affectionately at the tip of his nearer ear and then tucked her head under his chin.

Llyr laughed softly and supported Khael easily, purring at her still. It felt so good to be near her again... so pleasant. "So it seems, yes, my love... You always know when I'm there, even if I'm trying to hide so I can watch you for just a little longer," he murmured, smiling warmly once more and licking lightly at her ears.

It felt nice when Llyr did just about anything to her ears. She purred contentedly at the attention. "You can alwaysss keep watching... I jussst like having you nearrr morrre." She rubbed the top of her head affectionatly along the underside of his jaw, minding that she didn't turn where her horns could poke him.

A steady purring came from Llyr and he snuggled even closer to Khael, letting her lean more against him. "I enjoy having you near me as well," he murmured, unable to stop smiling. She just made him so happy.. it nearly seemed impossible. "Were you enjoying the sun, love? You seemed so comfortable."

Khael purred softly at the snuggling and licked Llyr's cheek. "Mmm. The sun and the grass was nice... but you're more comfortable and you're better at keeping me warm." She purred again and nuzzled at his neck.
