Personality - Quiet and tranquil, Hatsuhi is the typical "silent character". She has a very stoic and introverted personality, resembling her distant great-aunt Hanabi the most. When prompted to speak, she does so in a very concise manner, almost always speaking monotonously and displaying a dispassionate expression. She is very intelligent, rational and straightforward, making her comments sound rather sarcastic or non empathetic at times, even if she means no ill intention.
Though seemingly cold and devoid of emotions at first glance, she does care deeply for her friends, and will not hesitate to even risk her life in order to protect those beloved to her.

Biography
Born as an only child into the main family, Hatsuhi grew up as a normal (Hyuuga) kid, with the slight difference of being colder than the rest of the family members even for her small age.
As a few years went by since she was born, she came to grow up as a rather indifferent, non-cheerful child (just like her father) compared to other kids that were her same age; however, she was not as cold as she is now in the present.
During Hatsuhi's childhood, her father was requested to many missions (like many others in the Hyuuga) because of his helpful bloodline ability. As a result, she barely saw him when he was home, for he would leave as soon as he came back, leaving Hatsuhi no chance to talk throughly with him about each other's days.
Furthermore, after Hatsuhi was born, her mother fell seriously ill, and because she felt guilty for putting her own mother into that state, Hatsuhi took at as her self-appointed duty to take care of her. For many years she looked after her mother, assisting her to eat and to take her medicines, always sitting beside her bed reading a book as her mother slept most of the time, leaving Hatsuhi null chance to talk with her as well and to go out and play with other children.
This situation with her parents (which would left her almost every day without talking to any other human being) plus the fact that she was already a rather stoic child, led her to become a person that when spoken to, would reply as concise and clearly as possible; a very cold child who would display no emotion because she never learned how to do so appropriately, for every day she would only contemplate at her mother's calmed and sleeping countenance, and her father's equanimous expression.
By the time she entered the academy to become a ninja, her mother had finally managed to recover after years of intensive care. Hatsuhi was, however, as skilled with social interaction as a piece of log. When one of her classmates approached her, she would respond with as little words as possible, or with a nod with her head. Because of this, at the end of her first day at the academy, she was cataloged as the "silent, not-fun freak". Not that she minded, or she didn't seem to do so anyway.
Notwithstanding, she somehow managed to make a few friends, who despite her straightforward comments and her indifferent attitude, stuck by her for years for who she was inside. Even if she doesn't show it, they know she is a caring person who deeply loves her parents & friends.
