Posting:

All players must post to the game at least twice a week per character. If you play two characters, you must post four times a week. Players who do not post will be warned and banned per guidelines.

If you know you are going to be away for awhile, please let us know so folks aren't hanging on for you to post your character.

Posts are expected to be of substance and in proper form. One Sentance is not a post. Neither is Two. A long paragraph or two is a post.

You can speak for other characters in your post, but if you aren't sure of how another person's character should act or react, contact the player. Be respectful of what you write.

2. Characters:

Characters are not Superman. Play them with their limitations. Xavier students are not all powerful and all knowing otherwise they wouldn't be in the school. They're teenagers. Play them as such.

No full blown telepaths EVER. This power can be abused too much and it is not RPed correctly many times. Give them some sort of weakness. Have them sneeze and read everyones mind for a mile radius

Keep it in character. Remember your limitations.

3. Storyline:

Players cannot alter or change the plot line without permission. If you want to add a plot that you think is something major, ask the mods first. . We're not opposed to creative thinking. We are opposed to thoughtlessly changing storylines without permission.

NO GOD MODDING. Yes, you can write other characters on a minor level to help your post go along, but you cannot kill or mortally wound another person's character OR make another player kill or mortally wound somebody else. You also should not make a major character change for another person. For example, you cannot write into your post that Penance's parents were killed if Penance did not write it herself OR you don't have permission.

4. General Conduct:

Play fair.

Respect for your fellow players is required. Conflicts in the game stay in the game and are not to be made a personal issue. Conflicts outside the game stay outside the game. If need me work it out yourself then pm mods for intervention

Cursing, violence, and other suggestive material are not prohibited if its in character. Don't be vulgar to be vulgar. Respect the other players.

If you aren't sure about something, ask.

POSTING 101 (Required to be read by all members)

Game Rule: Posts are expected to be of substance and in proper form. One Sentance is not a post. Neither is Two. A paragraph or two is a post.

Why? When players only post something that is one to four sentences long, generally it does not contribute to the plot. (I say generally because sometimes all you need is a paragraph to get your point acrossed) It is hard to develope characters and to properly develope a story without detail or information about a character.

What makes a good post? Character development. Character interaction.

Examples:

Bad Post

Quote:

Kitty walked to the kitchen. She grabbed a cup. She drank some water. Kitty noticed nobody was around and sighed.

Where that gives you the basic idea of going on, it makes for lousy reading. There is no character development, there is no point.

Good Post

Quote:

Kitty came to the kitchen that morning hoping to run into Kurt or one of her friends. The Institute was quiet that day and she was growing weary of the silence. Seeing that nobody was there, she grabbed a cup out of the cabinet and settled for some ice water. The silence started to bother her so she sighed audibly and went to look for one of her friends.

"Nobody is around when you need them, and when you don't, there is a swarm of villains trying to bust the gates down," She mumbled to herself and left the kitchen feeling disappointed.

This one is shorter, but better because it gives some emotion and feeling to Kitty.

When writing put yourself in your character's shoes. Think about things like:
1. What they are feeling
2. Why they are doing what they are doing
3. What they desire

Non official Rule: Please use proper grammar and punctuation when writing a post. It is considerate to your other players.

We aren't all English majors. Punctuation and grammar just makes a post more legible and more clear to read. Break out quotes and seperate paragraphs with an extra line. It is hard to read a post that looks like this:

Quote:
Kitty talked to Kurt in the hallway, "What class you get stuck in this afternoon." She was looking out the window wishing she wasn't going to be in training. The day was too nice. "I have the afternoon off," He teased and flipped his tail back and forth. "Soooo jealous," she answered.

Non official Rule: If you are posting for more than one PC characters, use two different colors to differentiate.

Just to keep posts clear, use two different colors when writing a post that has your two different characters. For example, Ginko Kitsune writes Regina in black and Gen in purple. LadyJedi writes Penance in black and Porter in dark red. It changes depending on who's perspective you're writing from.

If you need help with your posting, just ask a mod.

Hello everyone. While I was updating the character list I realized how many of us have a second character. Now I've got no problem with someone making a second character, but I'm gonna put some rules on this before something goes wrong with it. If you're making a second character, then re-submit an application, to me. I don't need a RP paragraph (If I let you in, then you've already proven you can RP fairly decent) all I need is the character's name, alias, powers, and side. The secondary character must be approved, before you can use it. You'll only be allowed one secondary character. In other words, you can only RP up to two characters on this guild (not including magneto, Professor X, or any other characters we've got up as mules) I'm setting this rule up for two reasons. One: I don't want the secondary character having some kinda powers that could easily be god-modded. Two: To make sure your character's powers aren't given away. If you don't let me know about your second character's powers and they're given away to someone who's applied, guess what? It's your fault!!! And I won't tell ( or allow you to tell) that person to change their powers. So I'd like everyone to check the character's page one last time. If your powers aren't on that page, PM me Oniongirl.
