Sorry I haven't been on in forever. Mostly been on pbnation.com and being out with friends lol. But yeah Chicago was definitely one of the biggest events in my life, it really opened up new doors and found a world that i really wanted to blend into. This national atmosphere and never knowing who you will play is just insanely amazing. Strolling through the whole joint, checkin out the companies' booths and looking at the 07 gear and then theres the Bawls booth where they give out free drinks and mints and super balls lmao.
My team and I played Division 3 Xball. (Team Shortys). The tournament is ran for 4 or 5 days: 2 days are prelims, 1 day semis, and last day, finals.
First day we play 2 teams, first one up to 5 points (wins) wins. So we play a team called Zero Tolerance. These guys have a good looking history and look like a well organized team. So we play. Yeah, we lose 0-5... ouch. And Xball is pretty crazy if you ask me because the break in between games is 2 minutes. Which means 2 minutes to pod up, air up, clean up, and rotate players. So that's a lot of chaos. So basically you never have time to sit down. Alright so we been smoked by our first team and now we play a team called Metal. They are an equally leveled team as us. So we play and we are getting penalties left and right i mean it was horrible. Every game against them we had to have 1 player in the penalty box so it was basically 4v5. So we lose that match 3-5. Thats an extremely rough start.
Second day we get what's going on now and our first match is a team called 1up Kids. I've seen these guys before and their jerseys are absolutely ******** amazing. lol I couldn't believe how awesome they were. But they're really awesome guys and they're from Arizona. We start to play good now. but we still lost the match 4-5. But that's alright, we're getting our momentum up now. Our next team to play was a Chicago team called Shock Kids. They're a really good team with like a professional coach and everything. Shock Kids is kinda like a b***h team of the pro team Aftershock. But we didn't let that intimidate us. I start to put in more games and we were up 2-0 and we were just pumped more than ever I mean we were getting our s**t down and getting each other up the field and stuff. And then we tie 4-4 and we have one last game and I'm playing. I was surprised I didn't get butterflies in my stomach... it was something about Chicago that didn't get my adrenaline going so much that I had to s**t every 20 minutes. But this last game was crazy. I fired nonstop and had to shoot my own cover and my teammates cover. I've never played paintball like this ever before. So fast, so insane, so confusing, and just plain awesome. We win that last game and I'm just like skipping down the field to the staging area and everyones all giving each other high fives and hugging each other and all that and it was just a very happy moment. Beating a tough Chicago team, hell yeah you're gonna be happy!
But that didn't matter, the first day was so bad it blew our chances to make it in the semifinals. But the overall experience in those 2 days was worth it. The hilarious times in the hotel to the chaos in the pits, I loved it and you will be seeing me again someday when I'm pro
