There are few things to think about when you're writing profiles for your characters.
For your pokémon: What is their relationship with their trainer? Are they obedient, and love getting scratched behind the ear? Do they see their trainer as an equal, a partner? Or do they see their trainer as an antagonist? Not every pokemon needs to be at an extreme of hate or love.
Do they remember being a normal pokemon? Did they live in the wild, or did they have an owner? Many, maybe even most, of the pokemon given out by the lab are stolen.
What attacks do they know? Pokemon here will be considered around level 25 or 30. Their elemental attacks aren't as strong, but they can still use them! Do they remember how?
For your trainer character, if you choose to have one: How they come by the lab? Remember, the lab is trying to lay low for the most part, and is suspected to have ties with Team Rocket. Was it an accident (the lab looks a lot like a pokemon center!)? Do they "know a guy"? Did they hear a rumour?
Are they a trainer? Or maybe a breeder, or a ranger? Maybe they're just a normal person without any ties to pokemon at all!
What do they feel towards their pokemon? Do they think of them as a friend, a pet, or a problem?
