Once again, Skye found himself trudging aimlessly about, though he knew he actually did have something to do. Normally, he wold have had nothing to do which really wasn't a surprise. After being stuck on the island for nearly a month, Skye new very well about what there was to do on an island that wasn't more than 2 miles across. Basically - nothing. Get food, eat, sleep, walk... the list wasn't very long, unfortunately.
At the present, however, Skye's problem was not not having anything to do, it was doing what he had planned to do. He had started out in the day with the single thought of saying sorry to Jessie. After all, he had punched the guy in the face, hadn't he? But as the day wore on and Skye didn't see the man walking around, his resolve started to diminish - just a little more than slightly. he was well aware of what was the right thing, but he dreaded another meeting after what happened the last time. Tentatively, as though he wished that if Jessie was in fact in camp, he wouldn't hear him, he called out, "Uh, J-Jessie? You - You th-there?"

Jessie was in his now regular routine of keeping himself busy, and his mind of things. Today he was cleaning up the leaves from round his area of the camp with a palm tree branch he’d forcible removed from it’s tree and moving them over to a pile near the car. Perhaps they’d do well for a bonfire later.
He had even more reason to try and keep busy now, Hailey had changed again jus the other day, after she’d rested on his mattress she’d left without a word. Jessie had though it best to leave her be, she had grown a tail after all. But now, how long would it be until he started sprouting new limbs, by the looks of things he was already to do so.
He heard a very distinct stuttering; there was only one person it could be. “Yes” He said bitterly to the voice coming from behind him.

The forbidding feeling that this wouldn't end very nicely only doubled when Skye heard Jessie's tone. Well, of course! He told himself angrily, you kinda did smash him in the face with your fist! What'd you expect, a friendly greeting? "Uh... h-h-hey Jessie. I j-just ah... I-I j-just wanted t-t-to apolo- pologize f-for... uh... l-last t-time."
He looked down at the ground, he couldn't bear to look at Jessie's face, less he was shooting deadly lasers at him. What else could he say? Nothing that could help the situation, for sure. Skye just wasn't good at this kind of thing.

Jessie turned around the looks at Skye as he was now engaged in a staring competition with his shoes. So he’d already come to apologise, Skye was now officially labelled as a wimp in Jessie’s mental catalogue of other castaways. But admittedly, so was Jessie, he just hide now much of a push over he was, and now was one of those times it’d show. He’d have loved to give Skye a earful for what he’d done, or storm off on him. But the far more sensible part of his mind insisted to continue to try and be nice, it wouldn’t do any good to fight with a guy he was stuck on a island with, especially after he’d attacked him once already.
“Hmph…fine…” he replied, still his cold tone.

Jessie must think he was such a wuss. Skye had never been able to stand up for himself. Standing up for others, now that was a different story, but defending himself? Forget it. Whether he liked it or not, and he definitely did not like it, the truth was that he was a wuss. How he wished that he could just stand up like a real man and tell Jessie off, not knowing that Jessie had similar ideas running through his own head. Why'd he have to come and apologize anyways? Jessie abviously didn't want to hear it.
He was a little affronted by the fact that Jessie didn't say anything other than a few words. Did want an apology or not? Skye had always been taught to apologize when he did something wrong, whether the other person deserved or not. He didn't have to go out of his way to look for the other boy and then apologize to him. He could have just stayed at the other camp, or wandered around in the jungle.
"W-well fine th-then." Skye stuttered, trying to stop himself from blushing with embarassment- though it really wasnt working. "O-obviously y-you don't seem to- to want an a-apology. N-needless t-to s-say, this is p-pr-propbably a lose lose situation f-for me, as y-you probably would h-have gotten m-mad if I h-hadn't apologized t-to you anyw-ways." He crossed his arms, a rare, small frown playing on his lips. For those who didn't know him well, it was hardly noticeable. But for those who did, it was on of the first signs of him getting irked. This time, Skye probably wouldn't do anything, but Jessie's actions bothered him none the less.
Though their first meeting had been civil, it seemed that Jessie had turned out to be one of the few that constantly irked Skye, no matter what they did.

Jessie hadn’t followed through with that, he wanted to try and be nice with Skye, he didn’t need any enemies, Ian was more than enough for him right now. He’d just sounded bitter on account of being tired and rather annoyed at Skye. He just wanted this proverbial water under the bridge as fast as possible, though Skye wasn’t helping be accusing him of not wanting his apology. On the contrary, he wanted it over and done with now that he had apologised.
Why the hell was he blushing now “Look Skye just forget it okay? I don’t care”
Had his mind not been so preoccupied with Skye he would have noticed his grows where beginning to slither down his waist and below his belt line.

If Skye hadn't been staring down at his feet, he probably would have missed seeing Jessie's tentecles begin to grow. But of course, he was looking down, and he did see it. It happened so quickly that he hardly have time to register it. It was so surprising, that Skye just totally gave up on looking at his shoes and just kind of stared at Jessie, his mouth hanging open slightly. "Uh... J-J-Jessie?" He asked tentatively, "I ah... I uh... I th-think... I-I think y-y-our t-tentecles are g-growing..."
There was no way this could be happening again, could it? First Leonard, then Wesley, now this??!?!

“Huh?” Jessie stared back and Skye who appeared to be staring back at his waist. At first he just thought he was looking at his growths again, he’d have thought by now Skye would be used to seeing them, Jessie certainly was. By the look of Skye’s face was of newfound horror, not morbid curiosity, something was defiantly up.
He looked down to his waist once Skye stated this “Tentacles” as he had dubbed them where growing. And they where, they where past his waist and reaching his knees. A sudden pain shot through his body like he’d had the first time he’d changed. A new webbing of skin was forming between the “Tentacles”. He clutched his stomach with his now fusing fingers , knelt down, and fell back into a seated position. It’d ease the pain…somewhat. Jessie knew this was coming, but why had Hailey changed again before him, like Wesley had said, none of this made any sense.

Uh...
Skye was having a difficult time processing anything - even though he had been faced with a similar situation not too long ago. What had he done then? When he thought about it, he hadn't really done anything. So what could he possibly do now? At least Jessie seemed to be in slightly less pain than Wesley or Leonard had been. That was good, right? He wasn't growing a tail, but his tentacles were growing... longer. And if Skye looked closer, he fingers seemed to be... fusing? Kind of like Leonard's, but not.
"Uh... ah... Jessie?" This was way too much for him to handle. Why did it have to be him? He asked himself those words over and over in his mind, trying to come up with some possible explanation. When he had met Hailey, he had wanted to see what the 'virus' was all about. But not like this. Neer would h e have thought that he would view it so closely.

It looked like Jessie had really bad luck in this department, both times he’d changed, and both times he was in the company of someone completely useless, but at least Skye was still here, had it been Hailey she’d have run of screaming by now. So this was mildly better.
His new found tentacles had now grown to about as far as they would for now, they wriggled a little as they finished. Jessie would have to learn how to move them now, as their nerves where now fully connected to him. His fingers had fused too, leaving with only two on each hand. But more notably, their bones where gone now.
“Arrrr” he moaned as it seemed to finish, the pain in his tentacles subsiding. “Sk-skye”

"I'm s-still, st-still h-here Jessie." He knelt next to the changing boy, putting his hand on his shoulders. He didn't know about Jessie, but a lot of people he knew felt better when they were physically touching someone else. Nothing extreme, even a pat on the back, or a handshake, or something like that would suffice. He didn't know why, maybe it was because humans were naturally social creatures or something.
At any rate, Skye still didn't really know what to do that could help Jessie. Then he remembered back to the other day, when Leonard was changing. Wesley had said that water often helped sooth the pain. "Uh... d-do you n-n-need some w-water or something J-Jessie?"

The worst part was over, well in a way, his tentacles where done growing and ceased their wriggling. (Since Jessie had control over their movements now, but he’d didn’t know that yet). His ears had stretched backwards now, unlike Harleys their points where now downwards. His toes followed in suit with his fingers and also fused now, their bones literally dissolving anyway, leaving him with only muscle to support him.
But at least Skye wasn’t running away like Hailey had. Granted Hailey was there when he actually grew these things. But Skye was managing to comfort him. “Ye-yes” He spat, and half coughed as his two front teeth where now forming his new buck tooth. It’d bee a while since he’d moistened his grows as he needed to do every so often. They became rather painful if he didn’t

"O-okay... y-y-yeah... water." He rummaged into is satchel and pulled out his very beaten up and very dirty soda can that he had received on his first few days on the island. He had often thought of throwing it away and getting a new one, but dismissed the idea, telling himself that the can had served him far too well. He took it out, showing it to Jessie.
"Th-this... this is the only w-way I know h-how to t-transport w-water, sorry... b-but ah... but i-it m-might t-t-take a wh-while for me to get t-to the n-nearest s-stream... y-you th-think y-you'll be o-okay b-by yourself?" He didn't want Jessie dying or anything while he was gone - it would probably haunt him for the rest of his life if anything happened.

“Thanks” he muttered, he had some trouble speaking with his buck tooth, as the meagre trickle from the can poured down through his hair, the skin o much of the back of his head, scalp and forehead now the same slimy texture as his forearms and feet. But it certain felt better now all the reddish skin on his body was now moistened.
“Its…okay, I think…I can mange” he replied glumly. He had good reason to, he looked like a freak now. H e had a huge buck tooth now, his feet where like tentacles, and his growths where freaking huge now, it was like he had a permanent skirt now. How the heck could he ever go back home like this? He slumped down to reflect his miserable thoughts.

Skye felt bad for the other boy - he looked so depressed. What was going through his mind right now? Was it the life he had left behind? His current condition?Skye had stopped think about those thing... before he had reached the island - for the most part anyways. When he dozed, he could still see their face, but at any other time, they were locked away in the far recesses of his mind. His mind wandered for what seemed like forever, entertaining his thoughts. Then he remembered Jessie. He snapped out off his trance and took the soda can from Jessie. Hopefully there were no holes or anything in it.
Skye started to stand, ready to leave. "Uh... okay... I'll b-be right b-b-back, okay? I'm p-p-pretty sure I kn-now where the n-nearest s-stream is." Then he took off, looking over his shoulder once, as if to see if Jessie was really still staying there.
