It was the middle of a summer night, the air quite hot around the densite where two wolves and their children lived. Everyone was asleep and the atmosphere seemed tranquil and undisturbed. That was, however, until one of the wolves stirred at this densite. She was a mossy green with black on her back, tail, paws, and face. She was rounder than usual, and due to that there was a twisting pain within her that awoke her from a rather pleasant dream she had been having.
But she didn't want to wake up anyone else, particularly her mate since he was asleep directly beside her. Yet the pain was too much for her to simply lie down and take without making some sort of fuss. So she carefully rose to her paws, picked her way around the white and black male beside her, and wandered out of the den and into the warm night air. The heat was a little annoying with her thick fur that came from originally living in a snowy environment, but she managed.
Lifting her head, she closed her bright green eyes and took in a deep, silent breath. The pain subsided in her belly and she opened her eyes again, allowing herself the leisure of looking around the clearing where she and her family rested. On the outskirts near the bushes were some of her children. She could see Tor clearly, as he wasn't hidden within one of the bushes. She felt some of his littermates were around him, but she only saw the shadow and not the actual bodies of them.
Nevertheless, they were all there. All that were supposed to be there, anyways. She smiled silently to herself and sat down awkwardly, her black tipped tail motionless on the ground behind her. There was something going on with her, something new and exciting, and she wondered how she would tell her mate Damu.
Their family was about to get a little bit bigger.

 The night was quiet.
The summer heat had dwindled and the brisk night seemed to accompany the falling of night. The mass of white and black swirls was asleep beside his mate of mossy green and black, his tail occassionally thumping or twitching upon the ground as rumbles sounded from the back of his throat as he slept. Damu was large in stature and his thick coat that was once an asset for living within the fridgid mountains of snow and chilling temperatures was obsolete within the woods except for when winter lathered the ground with thick layers of snow and frost. But during the winter it did make him a bit uncomfortable.
His head shook slightly as his eyes fluttered open several times, squinting as he lifted his head upwards and looked around the den. It was so quiet- Most of their children still drifted in and out and sometimes stopped by, Aeryn and Juude had gone off elsewhere and there was a strange thought that seemed to linger with the tapered male of white and black as if there was another surprise in store for them.
But that was a silly thought wasn't it?
Damu and Taima were already the proud parents of nine offspring and he was certain that both he and Taima had already filled their quota. Yet, secretly, Damu had always wanted a rather LARGE family and Taima seemed to share the same dream with him.
At this point who knew what was possible!
Yawning as his emerald eyes drifted towards the cave entrance, he tilted his head slightly as he saw his mate standing outside towards the etrance of the den.
"Taima," he softly called with his deep, low voice as he staggered up to his paws and carefully padded towards her. Coming closer, the male rumbled softly and stood beside her as he gently nibbled on her ear and wuffed low.
"Is everything alright, love?"

The mossy female looked back quickly as she heard rustling coming from back inside the den. She blinked a few times, her eyes still adjusting to the lack of light within the night, and she managed to see the outline of her mate within the confines of their den. He called to her, and then she was certain that it was him and not her imagination. She smiled warmly and watched as he came out into the night to join her.
As he came up beside her, she leaned against him and nuzzled him after he nibbled on her ear. She wanted to laugh and pounce on him and start up a game between them, but it was the middle of the night and she had to remind herself of that. Their children were asleep and she didn't want to alarm them by making a bunch of noise.
So instead of giving in to her puppyish urges, she simply sat leaning against him, enjoying his company and his presence. She couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect male.
"Everything is wonderful, Damu," she whispered softly so as not to wake up their children. "I'm sorry if I worried you. I just woke up randomly and I felt that I needed some air."
Not entirely a lie, but she didn't speak of the reason why she had woken up in the first place. She smiled to herself, knowing that her little secret would please him more than anything in the world. She knew that he had always wanted a large family, and she had been more than happy to oblige. But after her last litter she had felt that they were done and that their legacy was complete. But now she knew that their work wasn't quite finished yet.
Taima shifted on her pregnant belly, attempting to get comfortable but finding it horribly impossible to find a spot that suited for more than a few minutes. She wondered vaguely if he had noticed her growing belly along with her growing appetite. It had never failed to slip by him unnoticed before.
Surely he would being to wonder and question her.

Feeling her lean up against him and nuzzle into his thick white and black swirled fur made a widespread grin slip across his maw. Every moment he was blessed to be with her, how he managed to win her heart- well, Damu thanked his lucky stars or whatever force or inspiration led them to find one another. He had found the most perfect wolfess to be his mate.
He nodded his head as a tender smile curled upon his maw. "You know that you and the kids are the only things that can ever worry me- I want to make sure your comfortable and okay," he rumbled softly, brushing his muzzle against the side of her face.
"It gets hot in there- I needed to check up on you and cool down a bit. Heavy fur is not ideal for winter," he chuckled softly.
The last few weeks had seemed to catch his attention, no doubt. It seemed as if when Damu brought home a small fawn or rabbits that there- well, there wasn't enough food to go around. Along with that, Taima seemed a bit more round around her belly. It was strange- not enough food, increased appittie, round around the-
Damu blinked several times as his eyes glanced down towards her stomach as she shifted her position, ears flicking as his tail swayed behind him.
Could it be? Was she- did he? Did they bring sexy back....
Again?
"Love," he softly spoke, cocking a brow upwards as he gazed into her eyes while the corner of his maw tucked into a grin.
"You brought sexy back....."

The two wolves were both blessed, having found their soulmates and having started a family together. A rather big family, nonetheless, and one that was about to get just a little bit bigger. And every time she thought of the fact that she was pregnant again it brought a large smile to her face, one that Damu was bound to notice and question her what it was she was thinking about.
"Yes, I know that, but I don't like it when you worry. There's no need to worry tonight, though. Everything is perfect." Including the fact that she and Damu were going to be parents for the third time. Her mind wandered over the endless possibilities of number of puppies, the appearance of the puppies and so on. The suspense would be killer for her, but it would be completely worth the wait. There wasn't anything she loved more than being a mother.
When Damu finally began piecing things together, her smile widened ever so slightly. He had been a little bit slower in figuring it out this time, but she hadn't done much to advertise her pregnancy in the first place. She had acted normally within reason while being pregnant to see if he could notice without there being any clear signs.
And he did. Tai knew he would figure it out eventually. He wasn't stupid. But it was sometimes fun to play little games.
"We," she said softly. "We brought sexy back." She stood up then, a rather awkward movement with her growing belly. She smiled at him then looked at her belly. Their new children were growing in there, and she could feel them moving about ever so slightly.
"I think they know their daddy is near them," she laughed. "They're squirming about like no tomorrow."

"I wouldn't say worry, love," he corrected with a soft rumble, "I'd say I'm just lookin' out for you." The two most important things in his life was his mate and his offspring- their safetey, happiness and wellness was what made him happy and satisfied. He felt invigorated- his family gave him strength, they filled him up with a feeling of invincibility and great compassion.
His family completed him.
Watching as her smile widened, it was clear to him. She was pregnant! Of course he had been so busy and hadn't been able to catch onto her low key signs and advertisement that was docile, it made sense to him. Damu would have been able to tell sooner but with so many to take care of and feed sometimes it was hard for the male to keep his thoughts straight and piece things together.
But that didn't matter- Taima was pregnant...they were going to be parents again!
A smirk took hold of his maw as he nudged against her, licking her face as soft wuffs and a small, estatic whine emitted from out of his maw. "We brought sexy back again- another genereation! I guess we're not done yet are we, love?"
Damu's black ears perked upwards as he looked up towards his mate and towards her belly. Carefully, Damu inched his muzzle closer and delicately pressed his nose onto her swollen belly.
"Hey little ones," he tenderly spoke, feeling several squirms and movement, "are you gonna be just as beautiful and handsome as your mother and father? And if you can tell me how many I need to expect that would be perfect." Damu laughed softly, drifting his nose across her belly as he placed his ear up to it as well. He sat there listening as he couldn't help but keep a plastered, wide grin upon his maw.
"I'm anxious to be a father again. I can't wait to be with you and watch when they're born."

Taima smiled and nuzzled her mate again as he said that he was simply looking out for her. That was Damu, the protector of the family. He was the strongest and he was always looking out for their kids and even herself sometimes. It was nice to have someone around who wanted to protect her no matter what. She was the same way towards her kids.
It was the family, their offspring, which had changed them both. And for the better. She remembered back when they had first met. She had been naive and alone in the world, a reject of her family. Damu had been angry and slightly a beast. But now they had both mellowed out into real parents: calm, wise, and very protective.
And now, with a new litter on the way, they would get to expierence parenthood all over again. They would master being parents and they would end up being the best in the world. It made her proud just thinking about it.
"Nope, doesn't seem like we're done yet," she laughed, leaning forward to n** him playfully at the ears. "We're going to have one more go at all of it." Being a parent was without a doubt the best feeling in the entire world, and she was getting another chance to live through it with her mate. There was no one else in the world who she would rather share the experience with.
As he leaned closer towards her belly, she steadied herself. It always set off her balance when she gained a big belly like this, but she had gotten used to it by now. This would be her third litter and everything was tradition. She had it all down pat.
Damu spoke, and she could have sworn she felt little movements in response. She smiled and watched her belly, waiting to see if she could spot any movement from the outside. It was a little hard to notice, however, with her breathing moving her stomach as well. "Oh, if only we could know!" she said wistfully. It was always a surprise, the number of puppies she birthed, and it was always a wonderful surprise. But there were times where she wished she could know the number.
"I don't know how many are in there, love, but I think they're big," she spoke, sitting down carefully again. "They feel heavier than my last two litters." She was panting by now, the strain of standing up with the extra weight taking its toll.
When he said that he wanted to be there when they were born, she smiled and leaned into him again. "I'll get the message to you as soon as I feel they are ready to come out. I'm sure the puppies will want to meet their father right away. They seem pretty anxious as it is right now," she chuckled, looking down at her belly again.
Her third litter. She could hardly wait.

Love and their offspring had helped transform them. Dam remembered when he had first stumbled upon her that winter afternoon- Taima was alone, estranged from the world itself and looking for something or someone, her green eyes held no lustor as they seemed glaze over and confused. As for Damu, he was cold, distant and forlorn; his heart was panged and his emotions were disoriented. Parenting had helped shape their personalities and brought out their true selves.
It was a blessing.
And with a third litter on the way, the joys of parenthood would be relived once more. They were writing the books of how to be efficient and idol parents- well, if one believed in having fun, messing around and expressing love non stop then their approach would certainly fit any couples lifestyle who were seeking to hav a family of their very own.
He rumbled softly as the mossy green and black hued wolfess nipped at his ears playfully. His tail swayed behind him as he looked into her eyes. "One more time- we must have done something right," he smoothly spoke with a smirk forming at the corner of his maw.
As his head continued to delicately lay on her stomach, Damu mused with a soft laugh. He could feel them yet he wanted to know exactly how many puppies were in there. It seemed as if four was their lucky number as each litter so far had been four- would they be graced with four new lives? Maybe five? Or perhaps six? It was exciting, it was mysterious- but Damu couldn't. Whatever number he would still be just as estatic!
"Perhaps the third times a charm?" He grinned, pulling his head away from her stomach and looking into her emerald orbs. "They must be the strongest litter, or maybe they've inherited my size," he rumbled softly and nudged against her, offering himself as a tool or object she could lean upon to release some of the extra pressure.

It seemed like such a long time ago when they had first stumbled upon each other. Damu had been cold hearted and seemingly emotionless except for fury, but Taima hadn't paid much attention to that. Perhaps she had been naive, but she felt that it was something different. She had seen something in him, something better and something good, something other than what he appeared to be. She had worked at it and finally she had brought fourth the real him.
With the help of a litter or two, of course. And now they were about to embark on their third litter, perhaps their last ever. She wanted to make every moment count as they had before, and she wanted this to be the best experience of their lives. She simply couldn't wait.
"We've been doing things right from the very beginning," she said, smiling warmly at him. "I think that's why we've been blessed with this third litter. It'll be our very best one yet. I can't wait until they are born. I can just feel them, they are so alive.." Her smile widened and she just sat there for a moment, allowing the puppies to squirm about for a bit. But after a minute it became painful so she shifted around until they stopped.
"Whether they're the strongest or they have your size, they certainly are energetic. They woke mommy up in the middle of the night," she spoke, speaking to her stomach.
When he offered himself automatically, she sighed happily and leaned against him. But she was careful not to put too much weight on him. Chances were she would simply shift about in a minute or so and she didn't want to bother him too much with all of her squirming.
"I love you so much, Damu."

Isn't it strange how love could heal the soul and all of its wounds? The past mends, burdens dissipate and love is the only thing (besides sustenance) one truly needs love to survive. Taima had awakened that love within him- a love that transformed his cold, ruthless heart and, with the help of his children, the 'real' Damu had been brought forth.
"We must have to be able to have a third litter," he remarked with a soft chuckle. "I can't help but agree- I think they'll be our best yet. They feel a bit more lively than the others this time around." To the large in stature white and black swirled male, the pups seemed more awake and aroused. He could only picture them as being quite large, beautiful and breathtaking- pups that bore their mothers sheer beauty and the courage and stamina of their father. But the possibilities were endless.
Not every wolf in Damu’s family was black and white- he and his half brother, Kaizen, were the only exceptions. His family was quite colorful but in fur hues and personality alike; a range from reds to pinks, blues, greens, yellows and orange (demonstrated by Jaxom) and also some very natural hues.
The outcome was a mystery yet even the slightest thought made the soon-to-be father again grin from ear to ear.
Damu felt good and confident that their last litter would certainly carry on their legacy.
He couldn't help but grin, a plastered smile upon his maw as she leaned against him. Those memories of being parents were soon to become another tangible reality once again- for the last time unfortunately. But never the less, both Damu and Taima were ready than ever.
Third times a charm, right?
"Taima, I love you. I can't wait to be a father again- we're in for another adventure aren't we?"

It was amazing the transformation they had both gone through. They had truly come a long way from when they first met, and she was glad to have traveled the long road with him. It seemed like so long ago when they had first met, and now they were coming upon their third litter. It was absolutely invigorating.
"We were meant to be parents just one last time," she agreed, glancing down at her stomach. The puppies had settled down from before, but she could still feeling them squirming slightly within her. It was the most amazing feeling a mother could have, the feeling of her children developing inside of her belly. She could just feel their tiny lives growing and awaiting the day that they would get to join their parents in the real world.
As her mate commented on the fact that the pups seemed more lively than the ones before, she couldn't help but smile. They certainly were more active. Never before had she been so uncomfortable all the time. It was strange, the way she was happy being uncomfortable. Sure, she had to move around a lot and she felt she often disturbed her mate while he was sleeping, but the whole uncomfortable feeling simply meant that she would get to experience motherhood again. And nothing was better to her than being a mother.
"They certainly are," she commented. "I can tell we're going to have our work cut out with these ones."
Continuing to think of the puppies, she began to wonder on their appearance. She and her mate had pondered that before, with their first litter. They had thought of random possibilities, combining their looks along with what could be passed on from other family members. Yet whatever they managed to come up with, they always seemed pleasantly surprised when their pups came out differently. It was refreshing, actually, having a bit of a surprise. At least she felt that way. Sometimes it was nice to mix things up a little bit and be in the dark about some things. It made things interesting.
Yet she couldn't help but wonder if the pups this time would take more after their parents or after their parents' family. There was no way to be certain and their were endless combinations and possibilities. She couldn't wait to see them!
"I believe we are," she spoke, laughing slightly. Their third and last litter. The best adventure they would ever go on.

One last time.
It would seem that when the pups were finally born it would be a bitter sweet moment- it was their third and final generation yet the large in stature wolf of white and black wasn't dismayed or saddened, he was looking forward to the new generation of offspring and to raising new lives along with their other nine children. It would be a little crowded but neither Damu or Taima saw it as a bad thing- they would have an even larger family and they were more than excited.
They were ready.
"One last time- I...I can't wait! I wish we could know more. I'm never patient when it comes to these type of surprises," he replied, grinning broad from ear to ear.
His black ears flickered as his tail swayed gently behind him. Damu could only imagine what the pups would look like, act like and what each of their personalities would be molded after. It was certainly always a mystery but when they would be brought into the new world and their identities were finally revealed it was always a thrill.
Would they look like their family? Or after either Taima's or Damu's family lineage? Black and white? Swirly? Tapered fur? Small? Large? Throwbacks of color?
The possibilities were endless!
It would be their final adventure in being parents- their last generation. But the family was soon to get bigger, oh it was bound to get larger! If they're children had families, their childrens children had families and including Jaxom's offspring-
Well...it could easily be said that their family would be very, very, very large and spread out through Telk.
Such a realization could only make Damu smirk as he rumbled softly and nuzzled against his mate of mossy green and black.
"I love you, Taima."

It was total bliss, this feeling that she had. This was to be her final litter and she couldn't wait to raise the puppies with her mate. Their lives were almost too perfect. They would certainly have a large family after this. Three litters and those would only go on to have puppies of their own, as one already had. In a sense, they would live on forever. It was an amazing feeling.
Smiling wide, she leaned against her mate a bit more and sighed deeply. She simply couldn't wait to be a parent with him again.
Laughing slightly as Damu spoke of being impatient about these things, she poked him playfully with her nose then ran a tongue over his cheek. "But you have to be patient, love," she whispered. "We both have to. They will be here soon enough, I'm sure of it."
Her belly was bulging so much that she felt she could burst at any moment. But she knew at this point that there were either a lot of puppies or they were bigger than usual. She wasn't due for another few weeks, at least. But it was a bit confusing, being so big and yet so far from her due date. Perhaps she had calculated wrong... no, she couldn't have. This was her third time and she was plenty experienced with figuring it out. This was simply a strange pregnancy.
But it would all work out. There were no complications so far and she felt that everything would continue smoothly. All they had to do was wait it out.
"I just wonder what they will look like. Do you remember when we were first going to be parents? We thought of so many possibilities." She laughed to herself. They had been so wrong, but it was so wonderful to have been wrong. Their pups couldn't have been any more beautiful. It was a wonderful surprise. And now, they were about to be surprised for the third time. She could hardly wait.
Nuzzling into her mate, she thumped her tail on the ground. "I love you too, Damu."

With this final litter and their other offspring, their legacy would continue. Leith already had found a mate and had his own offspring and the idea that the family would only become much larger in the future was a certain reality. It was exciting to think that their family bloodline and traits would be passed down and this final litter's appearance and personalities seemed unfathomable.
Anything was possible!
Damu gave a sheepish smile as his mate poked at him with her nose and licked at his cheek in such a loving manner. "I know...." he whispered as he turned towards her, nuzzling deep into her fur with a small chuckle risng from his chest. "They'll come soon but...the excitement seems to add up day by day."
"But though this is the last litter that doesn't mean we can't stop being parents," he winked with a smile. "I'm sure we'll have alot of grandkids to help take care of and that will be parenting all over again. The fun's really only just begun, love," he added.
Wait it out- it seemed hard but possible. If only time could speed up it would make things much easier.
The white and black swirled male grinned with a nod of his head. "How could I forget? All of the speculations of colors, fur patterns, gender and size? We were wrong....but that made the wait better. Surprises are fun but this last litter seems to have a bit more surpises than ususal, eh?"
Feeling his mate nuzzle into her, Damu gave a tender smile as he rested his head around her.
He couldn't be happier.

It made Taima so completely happy to think that their family would continue growing and growing. Three litters, thirteen children including the adopt Kaede, and all would grow up and probably have litters of their own eventually. Then their children would grow up and have children of their own... it was just a neverending genetic line. Their family would live on forever.
"I know what you mean," she whispered with a smile. She too felt the pent up excitement as she waited for the day that the puppies would arrive. It was a horrible torture, yet at the same time she absolutely loved it. It was wonderful to be able to dream up different possibilities for their puppies and then be completely surprised when they actually came.
As Damu talked about them being grandparents and thus parents all over again, she murred happily. That was completely true, and she couldn't wait for her children to have children. It was strange, thinking of herself as a grandmother, but it was very exciting too.
"You're right," she spoke, nuzzling him again. "I just wonder how many grandkids we'll see." She looked off into space, imagining her children with little puppies running about them. The image made her smile.
Time couldn't have been any better to her. She had come from a family that completely rejected her and hadn't cared when her foot had almost gotten snapped off by a human trap. But now she had a family of her own, one that completely cared about her and would seemingly do anything for her. It was such a dramatic change and she was glad to have met Damu so long ago.
Sighing happily again, she rose to her paws slowly and shook out her fur. "Being surprised is the best part, I'd say," she laughed. Such possibilities!
Sighing, she stretched as best as she could and yawned wide. "Oh, but I'm tired Damu. All of this excitement has really gotten me beat." She smiled at him. "Shall we go back into the den and get some rest?" she asked, feeling as if she were being dragged down by the weight in her stomach. This was definitely her largest litter, either in number or in size of the actual puppies.
If only time could go faster.
