It has come to my attention that quite a few people have a problem in getting a club for their student. xDD So, this thread is set up for people to discuss what kind of club their student can join and to set up a club.

To be honest, I think Sai would prefer to be on the student council. As much as she likes music, she probably wouldn't join the club and I don't think she could contribute in any way to the host club. Not only that, I think being a student counselor would be something she'd think would look impressive to her family.
However, if anyone has any other ideas for a club, maybe Sai might join. She's more of an athletic person, to be honest. And she loves debate. One time I played around with the idea of a Mock Trial club since I was a part of one at school, though I dunno... sweatdrop

I don't know, Audric is in to music, acting, arts like those. I'm thinking that a club with those things is probably the only one he would join. If something doesn't interest him, he doesn't stay there for long xp

Then he should join the music club. Roka is president and Satu is vice. I think including Audric we would have four

I'm considering that one, since it's the closest to what he likes. I'm considering a drama club or something, but I don't know if I'd be able to find two other people xDD

Ah...as it goes, I'm actually trying to work out some difficulties on my part. Satu, would you happen to have any ideas on the matter? My commoners' music has been ruled out and it seems the school board is looking towards something more classical. So much for modern...
I suppose Ouran does need to keep a few traditions, though.

Well what we could always do is make it seem as much of a classical music club as possible but say that as music appreciators we must accept all types of music into our club to give the club variety and a sence of an all rounded musical eduacation?

That's a very excellent idea, Satu. I rather like that perspective. Very well, now I suspect all we need to do is decide a new course of activities our club has to provide. Perhaps you could take care of the musical instrument teaching, Satu? I'm sure with your expanse of knowledge, that won't be a problem for you.
As for me...perhaps I could offer to write songs and pieces for people? I'm not sure, but I really do enjoy composing muisc. It's...ah...a secret hobby of mine. ^^; Though I suppose it'd be more beneficial to us if I didn't keep it a secret.

Oh yeah teaching musicla instruments would be my pleasure! I really like teaching new people, its almost like passing a small bit of my passion onto another person. Thats how I always thought of it anyway!
You write music? Thats so cool! I wish I could do that. I mean I can play but I don't have enough creativity to actually be able to write my own stuff. You must let me hear some of your work!

I'm glad! Don't forget; you told me you'd teach me too, remember? I intend to hold you to your word! XD Though I assure you, I do not lack passion in the least.
Ah...a little. ^^; As I said, it's sort of a secret hobby. My parents have no idea. I'm not sure if it's any good, though, because I've never been able to play it perfectly right; not like I hear it in my head. I'm not too good at reading and playing fluently at the same time. I play better by ear. But...perhaps you would be so kind as to play my pieces...? I'm sure you'll make them sound good no matter how terrible they really are. XD
Anyway...here was my club proposal, and here was the board's letter back to me. As you said, we could focus more on classical music, and Mel even said we could keep things like DDR, but stuff like Rock has to go. At least I think that's what she was trying to get at. Mind helping me modify this a bit?Roka Toshiro Ouran High School - Music Club idea (by Roka Toshiro)
President - Roka Toshiro Vice President(s) - Satu Kimura Treasurer - Mitsuko Takara Additional Members - Unknown
Possible Club Activities: ~ Customers may trade/buy CDs, MP3s, & Players ~ Customers can create & record their own soundtracks (singing, bands, etc.) ~ Dance Lessons - Commoner dances & games like DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) ~ Dance Parties? - with DJs, student concerts- bands, disco lights, commoner dances (Cha-cha slide, YMCA?) ~ Customers can sell their own soundtracks
Benefits of Club: ~ Customers recieve a diverse education of various music ~ Customers learn about commoner dances, possibly giving them a chance to be more social and relate with others ~ Customers can prepare for a career as a rock star, famous band group, club DJ, celebrity singers, and jobs in the music catagory in general. ~ Customers recieve an understanding of commoner's music which may prove useful if pursuing a music career involving commoner entertainment ~ If a successful customer makes enough money selling his or her soundtracks to other students, he or she may be offered a job contract with Toshiro Music Industries ~ Makes students aware of the importance of music not only in commoner lives, but their own.
Club's business/profit/income plan: ~ A portion of all sales of MP3/CD players and soundtracks made will go to the club ~ Certain music equipment donated by Toshiro Music Industries will require a fee to use ~ Dance lessons and DDR machine will also require a separate fee ~ The money earned by the club will be spent on CDs for customers to listen to free of charge, some party equipment (lights, plasma TV, disco ball, refreshments), hiring popular commoner bands, the very best dance instructors, and other benefits for customers. ~ The remaining profit will be divided amoung the club members, who will work hard to keep the club fun for everyone
Open to: ~ All Ouran High School Students, Classes A-D, 1-4.
Takes place: ~ (Yet to be decided. Depends on school board and other club members.)
When: ~ (Yet to be decided. Depends on school board and other club members. Possibly after school on certain days.)
Reason/Idea for Foundation:
Toshiro Roka wasn't very into music as a child until his older sister gave him headphones for the first time. Being mute, she can only communicate through sign language, writing, and music; music being her favorite method with her younger brother.
It was in this way Roka learned to understand his sister. When she was upset and needed his comfort, she would play a sad song for him to listen to. Other times, to express her joy, she would play happy, merry tunes. It didn't matter if it was commoner music, popular music, or any other kind - she loved them all.
Soon, not only was Roka familiar with his sister's intentions and feelings, but also with a variety of music. His parents, being in the music business, decided this was a good way to start their son off as the heir to Toshiro Music Industries, and they encouraged this passion of music he and his sister shared.
It is this passion he would like to share with the students of Ouran High School through this club. He would like to create it as a tribute to his sister, who first taught him to see music in a new way and love it; whther it was for commoners or not.
Though she currently attends Lobelia according to her parent's wishes, Roka wants his older sister to know he is ever grateful for all she teaches him and hopes others will learn the meaning of communicating and expressing themselves through music, just as commoners already have seemed to learn to do.
Thus - The Music Club. (hopefully to come up with a more interesting name) .Ouran.High.School. The admistration has reviewed the Music Club proposal and would like to point out some flaws. Most of the students in Ouran High School come from wealthy and influential familied. Therefore they can get CDs, MP3s and Players you intend to sell quite easily. Moreover, not many would be interested in getting second hand products when they can get new ones by themselves. Same goes for the soundtracks. What makes you think that the customers will buy from you? Remember, the point of a club is to manage it, earn money and get profits. How will you get profits if you are unable to sell the products? Some families may be against students creating and recording soundtracks, plus, most families insist on their children learning classical music and instruments such as the piano and the flute. Perhaps you could limit it to classical, not rock music and such. The school would not be happy in getting complaints from parents if their children turn out to aspiring rock musicians. Most of the children, may we point out, are groomed to take over their family buisness. The school would not like to be blamed for the downfall of influential buisnesses. Please review what we have said and reply us with a edited proposal. (xD I hope I'm not too harsh, I'm just putting myself in the admin's shoes. o3o They wouldn't like an angry parent to storm right up to them, would they? xDD)

Oh! Another minor adjustment to the form:
Katsuo Arata wishes to join our club. I'm not sure, but so far as I know, he's the only other addition we have.

Satu: That all sounds very good to me Roka. The administration are kinda mean arn't they? After all all we are trying to teach is a very well rounded music taste. I think that it is very important that more popular music must be taught too, as it help people to become more all rounded as adults and that is very important!

But Satu... XD I didn't change anything yet. I need your help to change it. That form up there was the one I sent in and it got rejected.
Yes, I suppose, but you can't blame them really. They're only trying to uphold tradition. Besides, that's your specialty, isn't it? Classical music?
They asked me to take out Rock music. ^^; I'm not too sure what else. And I agree about the more popular music; that's what I was trying to get at.
((Mel, could you please help us change this? XD We seem to be at a loss here.))
