Here is what the Bible says:

"And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before for God out of the angel's hand."

That comes from the book of Revelation, Chapter 8, verses 3 and 4.

A lot of people are doing a thing called Operation Global Rain, and that is pretty much a huge group of people getting together and praying at the same time for a mass outpouring of the Holy Spirit, kind of like the Day of Pentacost, except bigger. In the Bible (I couldn't tell you the verse; perhaps someone can help me out with that) something called the Latter Rain is supposed to take place right before Jesus returns. This is what they are hoping will happen.

Personally, I don't have a big problem with what these people are doing. Nobody will lose anything by getting together and praying. However, I have always thought it a little silly to try to make God do something. I mean, He's got His own plan. He is not waiting for us, we are waiting for Him.

Others argue that maybe God's plan is for us to try this, and in doing that, we will fulfill the passage cited above. I never thought much about that particular passage until today, when someone pointed it out to me. I am beginning to wonder exactly what it does mean.

I just want to know your thoughts on Operation Global Rain. If you have none, maybe you could tell me what that part of Revelation is talking about.
