User ImageSherlock FTW (12:54:33 AM): This sort of thing ALWAYS happened to him, always! No matter how hard he tried, how long he worked, or how nice he was, this sort of thing was ALWAYS the end result! There was no justification of his means, oh no. That happened to the ones who were actually lucky in life. He, for one, had no luck. Bad things just happened to him constantly. And of all people, it only had to happen to him.

Of course, the term 'people' no longer applied to his kind, as Silas longingly looked into the pond's waters at himself. Soft, tan fur now replaced the skin he'd gotten used to, with delicate paws, wings, and a tail suddenly finding their way to him. Honestly, the boy couldn't remember a detail as to why or how this had happened to him, only that it had. These thoughts and more passed Silas' mind as he lay by the pond, stirring gently in his own reflection. Sure, there was a lot he had in common with his former self, but so much of who he was had changed. Ears and wings drooping in unison, he found himself in a staring contest with his red-eyed reflection.

"This.. wouldn't be so bad, if I just knew how I'd gotten into this mess.." he muttered absent-mindendly, really thinking outloud as to organize his thoughts. And if someone overheard? Big deal. It wasn't like they would understand his problem, or anything. Pulling his left paw from the water, Silas shook it gently and tucked it under his body. Sighing heavily, he pulled his gaze up to the night sky.
"Then again, I never do know how it happens. I just.. get into trouble easily. Is anybody else this generally unlucky?"

Covenmice (1:13:05 AM): "Perhaps you should try retracing your steps?" A soft voice asked from a nearby tree. "That always seems to help me when I don't know how i've lost something, i'd only imagine it would help if one didn't know how they'd ended up where they are at current...."

Xanatos, glittering his unsual cosmo blue from the treelimb up above blinked as he trailed off, pondering his own words. For a moment he seemed slightly confused, head cocked to the side so that one ear was further up than the other. Whatever he was pondering he came to a conclusion about eventually, actually giving a physical start as if he hadn't a clue he'd spaced out like he had, and offered a sheepish, startlingly swhite smile at the other male. "Of course, it just occurred to me that you hadn't actually asked for anothers input and I do hope you'll forgive the interruption." Xanatos spread his wings and glidded down to the forest floor, giving a little stretch as he approached and gave a slight, quadraped version of a bow. soemhow he seemed to have ended up a mixture of two of his housemates--the intelligence of Franklin with the gentil nature of Secolus... and perhaps a dash of his mother's old bashful ness ((before she'd taken Mewtwo as a mate and lost all means of being sheepish)). "You do seem to be rather bothered, however.. I hope it isn't anything terrible!"

Sherlock FTW (1:19:50 AM): Nearly jumping when another responded to his speaking, Silas whipped around a moment untill he caught sight of the other as it landed square in front of him. Blinking in confusion at the other, it seemed to take a moment for him to register that he was indeed being spoken to, at which he cocked his head to the side. Well, he certainly hadn't expected anyone else to take an interest in his problem. Pawing idly at the familiar tie around his neck, Silas grumbled.

"What I've lost.. isn't exactly something you find easily, y'know?" He started, considering if it was findable at all. Shrugging it off, he looked over the other as he continued. "It's.. partially mental, partially physical, and I've got know way of starting how to find it. My steps only lead me.. from when I woke up here yesterday, but that's about it." Looking up from his tie, Silas frowned slightly.

"And, no, you're not bugging me. I'm already so bugged that it's not possible for me to be bugged any more."

Covenmice (1:28:10 AM): Xanatos hesitated slightly, eyebrows raising at the last line, though oddly enough the gem between them didn't move in the slightest. For a moment he seemed at a loss of what to say, then gave the softest chuckle and offered, "perhaps, then, you should be less... bugged?"

It sounded so simple, really, but it was one of the hardest things to do. Xanatos sat down near by and held up a paw to his chest area as he closed his eyes to breath in deeply, "Long slow breaths.. and clear your mind...." He exhaled before smiling at the male once more, an expression that made it into his oddly twirling eyes, "and slow exhale. If you calm down, and don't focus on what is bothering on you, it can be easier to deal with."

That said, he stroked his chin lightly and pondered. What could be missing that was both physical and mental? "If you don't want to tell me whats missing, I understand... but two heads can, at times, be better than one. ... Oh dear! My manners!"

Xanatos's eyes flew open for a moment and he hopped to his feet. "Xanatos, at your service sir. How could I ever forget such things! My oh my! Hah. Well, I do hope you'll forgive me, wot. You just looked as if you might need a spot of help."

Sherlock FTW (1:45:50 AM): Managing a crack of a smile at Xanatos, Silas rose to his own paws, nodding gently at him. "Mhm. I'm Silas, to be fair and return your manners." He teased gently, returning his gaze to the poolside reflection. Padding gently over to it, Silas stared at it once more, and forced a laugh. It was crazy, even to him, and he was the one who was actually going through it. Who knew how another creature would take it?

Following Xanatos' advice, Silas drew a deep breath, closed his eyes, and attempted to relax. It was peaceful out here, despite the trouble he was in, and almost soothing. Letting out his breath once more, and letting his eyes open, the momentary relaxtation fled as he was met with his reflection once more. Glancing back to Xanatos, he weakly smiled. "It.. sounds crazy. Trust me." He muttered, turning fully back once more.

"I.. wasn't always like this, I know it. Not one of you anyway. I know this definately how I wasn't born, since.. before this.." pausing, Silas's gaze fell to his feet. Well, best to get it over with, instead of drawing it out. The longer you waited, the crazier you seemed.

"Before this.. I'm sure I was human. I know it."

Covenmice (1:51:43 AM): Xanatos nodded along with the male. He wasn't exactly agreeing, though it might have seemed as such, but he did glance to the right in thought. "A human?" He knew what those were, of course, as he lived with one... but that seemed rather odd. However, the Seraphim had yet to mark Silas as a lunatic so that could only be a good thing.

"Are you sure?" He asked, in a remarkably un-condescending sort of way. "Not to say that one would make up this sort of thing, for it surly must be very distressful, but there are times when dreams do seem very very real and there are stranger things than dreaming that you're the member of another race. Then again, perhaps this is your dream and you are truly human?"

That idea was actually a rather interesting one as were it true Xanatos would only be a figment of this male's imagination. "Wouldn't that be remarkable! To think, me a figment of your imagination... That sort of puts a perspective on life, doesn't it?"

Xanatos seemed to wait for an answere but a mere moment. He shook his head, laughing at himself, "But in all seriousness, Mr. Silas, I'm not quite certain what to tell you except that you're taking this whole thing remarkably well if all you're doing is sitting by a pond and wondering about it. You didn't even seem to react to the fact that I can speak, and most humans, no matter hwo much they love us, don't seem to think much of the intelligence of mere 'animals."

Sherlock FTW (2:04:50 AM): "If this is all a dream, it's a very long and realistic one.." he sighed, looking back up to Xanatos as he rattled off his philosiphy of it. Well, he hadn't called him crazy, so that was good. He hoped. That, or both of them were crazy, and someone was getting a damn good laugh off of his subconcious. The idea of both of them being a dream, though.. it seemed highly unlikely. Atleast, with everything that'd happened to him, anyway.

"But, yeah, I'm sure. There's too many memories not to be sure of it, is my opinion on it. People I'd met, places I'd been, things I'd done.." sitting down, as to more comfortably talk, Silas lowered his tone slightly. "Maybe it was a dream, but.. I don't honestly think so. All of it feels too real to have been a dream, which.. goes along with what you said, but this is different. You can tell when someone you love is real... and people you meet..." he rattled off, then hesitating a moment.

"And that's the thing, I'm.. honestly not suprised by any of this at all. This kind of thing is commonplace in my life." He laughed, shaking his head. "Weird things, anyway. Talking animals, memory loss, all of it." Hesitating once more, he suddenly took on an amused expression.

"Though, considering your reaction, you seem used to odd things, as well."

Covenmice (2:12:57 AM): Xanatos's expression deadpanned for one amusing minute, seemingly frozen in his normal sort of smile. In fact, the expression wouldn't have been distinguishable from any of his others save for the fact that the feli was totally, remarkably still in that one instant. It was almost a soft of full-bodied twitch masked with a ramrod straight sort of posture and unwillingness to show a reaction. "Odd is a good word for it, wot," He finally laughed, dropping back into his usual, relaxed position as if it hadn't existed. "My family is rather strange for these parts, even as strange goes. But that's beside the point, i think. The point is more that you are not supposed to be a feli... but here you are, and well... not much one could do about it now, i assume?"

There was a pause, as he seemed wont to do, as he watched a butterfly wander about over head. Though his voice was slightly towards the distracted side of the spectrum, the conversation went on, "Though one should suppose that to give up so easily on a life one had would be foolhardy if not a touch... mm... cold? Not quite the word I was looking for but it'll do in a pinch, which this is. Ahem, anyway, as I was saying--or, i should say, as i was getting AROUND to saying--perhaps it would be best for you to simply... make the best of things for the time being. Stick around, be one of us for awhile, and see if you might find the reason you were brought here in such a fashion in the first place."

The butterfly flew off and Silas had Xanatos's attention back in a moment. The Seraphim smiled, "But if you do need a helping hand i'd be more than happy to obli--Flighty! that's the word i was looking for! Flighty.

"It would be a touch flighty," He stated triumphantly.
