Hello everyone,
I'm curious as to what bass effects you all use (if you use any at all)...
Oh, and before I go on, here's my effect set up...
Boss TU-12 Tuner -> Boss PH-3 Phaser Boss Super Overdrive -> EH Big Muff Pi -> Digitech Bass chorus -> Boss Bass EQ -> Boss Digital Delay..
(If anyone has any questions about why I have certain effects where, or what they do, don't hesitate to ask :B )
Okso, questions: + What effects, if any, do you use? + Why are they where they are? + Is your board modeled after any certain musician's board? + What is your playing style?

I'm not a huge fan of bass effects, they seem to be more toys than practical, but the ones I'm a fan of are the ones that improve your tone, Sonic Maximizers, Compressors/Limiters, filters, etc.. But I do dig a little distortion every once in a while, I'd love to have an original Russian EH Big Muff.

Mmm.. Yeah,
I want to try to avoid having a massive pedalboard with some things I will probably never use much, yet I just can't seem to want to take anything out of my board.
Ex., I took out my phaser and messed around on the bass, then realized that there were 2-3 tones that I think sound decent out if it. I need a new hobby xD
I've been wanting to try some vintage effects...

currently what ever is built into my head, though i want a wah pedal and an FX bord. that would be awsome. I haven't looked into it soo much, though... I can't afford much gear right now. Any ways, My current set up like I don't know I usually turn on close to every thing, except over drive I don't like that so much. I use the bright thing, and stuff... I don't really know too much. I want the max number of tonal options I can get though that's good for me, more choices, so for one song it can sound like a growling truck, and the next a screeming banchee. Plus wah because that's a serioulsy important thing for bass in my opion.

my setup is
Bass>>Boss Bass Overdrive>>Boss Bass Chorus>>Amp
originally i put the chorus last cos it has dual outputs, (mono/stereo)
but then i learned that different orders make things sound completely different
so i changed the pedals around
and i really didnt like the sound
with overdrive to chorus you get a clear growl with a little chorusy thing over it which sounds really good and thickens alot of stuff up (i play in power trios or with one guitar preferably)
and with the chorus on first, it was all good untill the overdrive came on, it was like, an overdriven chorus, the distortion was mixed with the chorus, so like, it wasnt a clean overdrive sound, i didnt like it, it was sloppy and dull and eew...

The only effect I use is a Big Muff Pi distortion pedal. Russian made of course. But I guess that's because i'm in a metal band, and I don't really see a need for other effects in it. If I played a different style I might try other effects but I havn't needed to so far.

I toy around with effects from time to time, but I don't sink money into cool new things that i won't wind up using too much. I have a tremolo/vibrato/phaser/autowah pedal that i tinker with, but I don't have much use for it besides the vibrato for a classic rock feel, a vintage fuzz/wah pedal that has a really fat tone, and a vintage MemoryMan Chorus/Delay pedal that needs to get fixed. Otherwise, I just rely on my own two hands to make me sound good

I use an Electro-Harmonix Metal Muff. It's designed for guitars, but I like it's sound with a bass.

I love the use of effects. I avoid using too many though. Don't like floorboards that much either. Saving up for a Moogerfooger Bass MuRF. That thing is awesome.

i currently run through a
Boss Overdrive Boss Chorus
and i'm going to get my Guitarists Boss Hevy Metal Pedal, so i can use the overdrive for mroe of a bluesy sort of overdrive and the heavy metal for a more filling crunch, to fill the gap when the guitar solos and we need a second guitar... good idea... but i just dont think its needed... but hey... free pedal
and... i want an Auto Wah and like... a Compression pedal
or something
and i'd love a normal Wah pedal... (i'm working on solo stuff...so it all can come in handy... and stuff)
