Kicking hard in the water, Cosette was getting much more used to swimming. Her first attempt she had to stay in the shallower parts without falling under a bit every now and then, but now it was getting easier for the arctic mare. She had a lot of time to practice - the heat wasn't anything like summers in the mountains, or so she told herself. She blatantly couldn't remember what summers were like in the mountains, but from how she was adapting to her new surroundings... Cosette could only rightfully assume that they were much cooler.
The water was almost crystal clear, reflecting the sky nicely. However, that image would be dissembled with every little kick she made to get ehrself closer to the land, wanting to rest her legs for a bit. Along with swimming to avoid the heat, she also had more time to because she didn't seem to be meeting all that too many Soquili. She had met quite a few, but now it seemed that the longer she stayed, the less new faces she met.

While kicking and slashing, Cosette asn't paying much attention to who was nearing the lake front. She doubted anyone would come near here, all probably under their trees in the shade or sleeping in. But not Cosette! She wanted to become a better swimmer. She had begun to get closer to where the cat tails were growing, and a childish grin came to play on her blue lips.
It would be fun to swim amongst them, no? Kicking her legs, she neared the aquatic plants, lowering her body so that only part of her body visible was her nostrils and the upper part of her head. She breathed outwards, bubbles gurgling. At this sound, Cosette began to giggle even more, popping her head up for air. What a funny sound! Unfortunately to those behind the cattails, they would only ehar the noises and not the source of them.

At the sound of another talking, especially in stutters, the thought that she might've scared someone rolled into the arctic mare's mind. Thrusting her head out of the waterand through the cattails, she saw the funny-looking foal. Offering a cheesy grin as an apology, Cosette pushed a hoof onto the gorund and dragged herself from the water, shaking her heavy mane and flicking her water-soaked tail.
"Ah, sorry there little one. I'm just getting used to swimming," She explained, thinking she was talking to a filly. Opening her red eyes, they widened a bit before squinting to observe the one she was talking too. his filly looked rather big for being so young. Different build... Didshe eat a lot? Or was this how fillies looked before growing? Tilting her head Cosette began to walk around the skunk-colored mare, trying to figure it out.
"Please don't mind me asking," she began, "But you aren't a foal, are you?"

Flower nodded and forced a smile. "S-S'a pleas'a ta m-meet'cha Cosette." She said, eyes lighting slightly. The mare tilted her head to one side when the artic female gave her such a long title. She chuckled softly. "J-Jes, Flow'a'll do love." She told her. She relaxed a bit when Cosette stopped circling her. Frankly, she found it to be a bit rude, but no matter, it was a minor detail.
At her next question Flower's eyes widened and her cheeks burned red. "N-No, you're n-not scary." She said, wishing to the gods she could stop her speech impediment. This was one of the first Soquili, or Usdia for that matter, that she'd run into who mentioned it. Most usually just avoided the topic, oh lovely. She took in a breath to try and calm herself down so that she could, hopefully, stop stuttering.
