I've noticed along my travels in this guild that several people seem not to know the rules of the game as well as they could, even as players and not DMs. Thus, I have decided to create for your benefit a question-and-answer thread where you can ask about combat maneuvers, prestige classes, feats, sourcebooks, roleplaying, and spells, since I have access to almost every sourcebook published for D&D v3.5 and have memorized many things from them. Questions I can answer range from "How do I properly roleplay my alignment without annoying the other players?" to "If I want to create a D&D version of a character that already exists, can I do that within the rules of the game, and how?" so just ask, and I'll answer as best I can.

My question is....will you ever have a girlfriend? The answer is "No." See I saved you the task of answering the question. Go back to being a petty little 15 year old, cuz you haven't provided a single element to the group that wasn't already here in some form. There are magical things called "house rules," there is also an amazing thing called "role playing." Imagination is amazing. Grow up. I hope one day you are looking through books and you realize you still don't have a life. I have read most of every book from 2.0 through 3.5, but i don't post this kind of pompous BS. I think you need to go out, maybe talk to a girl or two and maybe learn to not be a douche. Cuz you honestly aren't that useful here, and you need to learn to not be an a-hole.
(This was edited a few times for content, any idea how hard it is to not cuss at someone who sounds so dumb?)

Rhesus, I'm going to have to give you a warning here, though I agree with *some* of what you said, you should have said it..nicer?...differently.
I have to agree with the part about sounding pompous. It does sound as such even if you did not mean it as such. There is not one person that knows all. I've talked about house rules before, as Rhesus has also mentioned. D&D is a great game for such things. Thats one of the bonuses that I enjoy about the game, you can fiddle with it in anyway you like.
I like the idea of having a question and answer spot for things, but also know that in your 'travels' of this guild, you may have missed (or may not have) the places where people have asked questions and they were answered. Everyone on this guild helps everyone else out. Not just one person. Since we all have different points of view, it helps to get input from everyone (no matter how mundane the question may be).
Again, Rhesus, you have been warned.

Serious Question:
Actually I do have a question pertaining to D&D and I was hoping you would have some insight since there is currently no rules clearing up the topic. So, if I was playing a Soul Knife, and then take levels in the prestige class Incarnum Blade, when I bind soulmelds to my mind blade/(whatever) chakra, would I gain the abilities when the Mind Blade is not currently manifested? Would the souldmelds even continue to exist if the mind blade disappears (due to being disarmed or throwing it)? I think that is all of what I have to ask for now. Since I couldn't find rules I would assume it is at the DM's discretion.

So no, I will never have a girlfriend! Savindus, I made this thread with the intention of helping. I apologize if I was out of line, and if you really think I'm a pompous a**, I'll leave the guild and never come back. Rhesus: I apologize, I've not yet gotten my hands on Magic of Incarnum, so I'm not able to answer this off the bat. Since I'm unfamiliar with how this "binding" takes place at the moment, I'll get back to you on that.

Like I said, it sounded as such although I'm sure you did not mean it as such. At this point, I do believe you'd be a good addition to this guild. Like I stated before, this thread is a good idea. I just hope that you would allow anyone to help in this thread (I, too, own many of the books as I'm sure you noticed in the equipment thread). I know some, if not most of the rules, but generally, I'm just better at knowing how to find the information, not knowing it off the top of my head.
I would like it if you stayed in the guild. I, for one, will have to try to read things without adding so much emotion to them, but please know that that is a difficult thing for me as I tend to add emotion to all my reading and writing.
We all have a common interest here, and I'd like to keep it as such.
[Edit: After you post, I will delete all the unnecessary posts. Also, if you can give some insight to Rhesus' question when you are able to obtain the book, please do...he's trying to be an a**, but it is a legit question of his. I've read through the book, and at this point I'm claiming DM's discretion.]

Hey, I will apologize, as for being Warned....YES!!!! I have succeeded at being an @$$!
I was going off of some of what I read and some of what Savindus added (the emotional reading and whatnot). So a lot of it sounded like you were being arrogant (a lot of which was the inflection savindus gave to it...yes I blame you partially all might moderator).
The binding ritual on my question is conducted similarly to the way clerics get their spells and whatnot, but i know that isn't much help. It's a relatively unique thing so it is hard to explain. Are you familiar with the psionic class atleast?
Anyway, I again apologize, but will attempt to weasel out of the blame by blaming it on savindus.

Don't you guys think you are beinging a bit harsh? Shes just trying to help out some of the people in the guild who don't know the rules as good as some of the others. There are some new people in the guild who have never played before so this thread was more for them then us.
I would agree there are some people out there how could use some help with the rules. (Not saying any names) But those people seem to stay out of the RPs so if you are in any RPs, try and know most of the rules and if you don't know one that everyone else does, we'll help ya out.
Rhesus you are DMing a campign! You should know most of the rules and if you don't get help from Savindus. (Cuz hes beaten me on many things...)
(I'm not taking sides or anything. I just don't want tension between guild members...)

*is going to sound stupid now*
I never did fully understand Two-Weapon Fighting. My friends have tried to explain it to me, but none provide writen aid (Yeah, I follow by example). So they never showed me a "formula" for it.
I understand that for each attack you make with both weapons, they're at a -2 penealty, but then it gets weird... especially cause I'm a four armed barbarian gnome.
My DM is allowing me the use of the Multidexterity feat (I don't remember exactly what it allows me to do, the DM keeps our sheets) but I do know that I have to have the Two-Weapon Fighting feats in order to get it to work.
So, pretty much I'm asking for a formula so i can write down what my barbarian's move/attack and full attack would look like.

basically two-weapon fighting takes away the penalty that you would have for using your off-hand.
When you start out, without the feat, you take a penalty for fighting with your off hand (so if your right-handed, you take a penalty for wielding a weapon with your left hand).
By taking the feat, you now ignore this penalty on your off hand...or in your case, hands.
I'm not sure the formula or anything, but I will see if I can locate it...it may take a while.

Ok...to fix a slight error in what I said. Normally, without two weapon fighting a character would get -10 (off hand)/-6 (primary hand). Once you get two-weapon fighting the penalty goes down to -2 (off-hand)/-2 (primary hand). Since you have two more arms, those would then get -4 and -6. Each additional arm would give you an additional -2. So: Full attack: Quote: -2+STR+BAB/-2+STR+BAB/-2+STR+BAB/-2+STR+BAB (or + DEX if you are using bows and such) Move/attack: Quote: -2+STR+BAB (or DEX if you are using a bow and such) I hope that helps.

Oh, you have no idea how much it helps. As much as I enjoy being a powerful character, I knew 8 attacks (2 per arm) was a little much. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that stood infront of my character died in about 1 round. Albeit, I'm still gonna be doing 50+ damage per attack ^^.

Incarnum is a different power that psionics, so it stands to reason why a souldmeld wouldn't go away cause you were disarmed or threw your soulblade. I'd be of more help, but my books are at my friend's house. Damn him for having my books X3
