Alright If you were born in the 80's, then this should take you back. Transformers spoke to the duality of man...... AND GIANT ROBOTS! Now, after 2 decades, Transformers is finally being released as a new movie. They have the original voice of Optimus Prime as the voice of the movie one. And they have the transformation sound from the original (which will cause so many older fans happy). are you old enough to have seen the original? what do you know about Transformers? Do you plan on seeing the new movie?

Oh of course I'll be there!!! Woot! Hurra for original sound!
I am old enough to remeber the original..you mean cartoon right? ...I was born in the 80's thoug, so in 1984 when it debuted I was tooo young to enjoy. I watched it when it came out on WB or Fox...when I was a kid. I never read the comics, but I did watch the cartoons regularly.
Optimus Prime was always my favorite. ♥♥
I don't really remeber much story though, only that there was a 'war' goign on between Autobots and Decepticons. I don't remebmer how it was they came to earth... ??

yes I mean the cartoon. I was born in '87. Long after Transformers first premeired. I saw it on Sci-Fi (among other things)
My favorates are Bumblebee and Soundwave. Yes, an autobot and a decepticon.
I'll give everyone a little refresher course on the story, Before the movie comes out.
A great war raged on the planet Cybertron between two factions, the Autobots and the Decepticons. As a last ditch effort, a small group of the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, decided to leave Cybertron to find a new sorce of energy to turn the tides and bring an end to the war. The Decepticons, led by Megatron, discovered this plan and decided to follow and stop them. After a short flight through an astroid feild and a battle on the Autobot ship, the Ark, they lost control and crash landed on earth. once on Earth, they went into stasis (think hybernate or stand-by on your computer), as they where all badly damaged. 5 million years later, the ships systems reactivated and repaired all inside, starting with the Desepticons. Each was given a form to best disguise them on Earth (fat lot of good that did). After a few years of battle and search for energy (which they refined into Energon), both sides managed to get there ships working again and left back for Cybertron.
AND THAT'S ONLY FROM THE TWO HOUR MOVIE "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE"..... I have it on VHS.

Meh, i dont remember. I would watch the old cartoons with my brothers, like Voltron and Gundam. I DO remember transformers, and i perfectly remember optimus prime, like, like....erm...... >> this white transformer with a blue face....and then a red and black one..>>
Gosh, reaching back into memories is so hard. But i am well aware of like, megatron and the decepticons. My brother used to buy the action figures, and i remember he even paid like 60 dollars for a complete set of voltron figurines---OMG I REMEMBER GIGANTOR!!!! He appeared in various episodes!!! *runs around, excited*
Oh and yes, i plan on watching the movie. it will bring back memories. biggrin

I was born in 1981, so my memory was starting to kick in when Transformers first premiered in the US. Yes I had to catch reruns later on to refresh my memory, but I do recall being hooked from the start, I like dinosaurs alot back then, so naturally Grimlock and his Dinobot team were my favorites. Sadly after our first move, the bulk of my collection was lost. But when beast wars came out, i was glad to see the return of the transformers and had been collecting from that point. I have already seen the new live action movie and it was HELLA COOL. I mean I was totally blown when I heard, not only the original transformation sound, but the original Optimus Prime voice, I thought, YES HE'S BACK. i will be getting the DVD when it comes out about October 16th, pretty early considering only a week ago it stopped showing in the theatres here.

I saw the new movie and loved it. I was not born until 1989 so I never saw the old shows.
