I've always loved Marine life. My favorite are the sharks, they are amazing and beautiful.
But the pollution to the oceans is horrible, the reefs are dying. This is causing so many different species of marine life to die.
Is anybody else getting annoyed over this destruction like I am?

Yes I am. It's not even just killing the animals but humans are also dying. I would THINK that would be somewhat of a red flag to fix.

I am overwhelmed reading and discovering of the new species loss all over the world. It’s definitely troublesome and causes a great deal of annoyance as you put it. I do wish things would turn around but at this rate it’s hard to say what chance out natural world has. It’s unfortunate and devastating but maybe new creatures will evolve capable of withstanding human carelessness (pollution). I’m rooting for all the animals of this planet and I definitely hope we stop mucking up the waters for all the beautiful reeves and sharks that you mentioned.

The ecosystem is really gentle and the people who can bring about change by setting policies and such aren't doing much on anything.

-nods slowly- It's really disgusting... Here are a couple of articles that will likely make you even more convinced that the oceans need our help, if you need any convincing at all. It seems you know what's going on better than thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands... of people in the world. 3nodding
Here's part of an article from National Geographic News: In June, along the shoreline of Mauritania, in northwest Africa, scientists made a gruesome discovery: the carcasses of 230 dolphins, a pilot whale, and 15 endangered hawksbill and leatherback sea turtles.
"Because of the mixture of species found, and the fact that some of them were entangled in sections of fishing nets, it is likely that these animals were killed as bycatch," said Jean-Christophe Vie, deputy coordinator of the World Conservation Union's species program, based in Gland, Switzerland. Across the world's oceans, large commercial fishing boats haul aboard huge nets and 60-mile (97-kilometer) lines teeming with unwanted creatures—bycatch, sometimes referred to as "bykill" or "dirty fishing."
Bycatch is a mix of young or low-value fishes, seabirds, marine mammals, and sea turtles, often considered worthless and tossed overboard—dead or dying.

More? Pollution of the world's oceans is quickly becoming a major problem on Earth. We know very little about the effect that pollution has on the oceans but we continue to dispose of chemicals, sewage and garbage into it. Most people likely do not even know what types of pollutants reach the oceans. There may be billions of people who do not believe ocean pollution is a problem. In the following pages, I will look at the various ocean pollutants and the potential impacts they have on the ocean animals. Toxic pollutants in the ocean ecosystem have massive impacts on the plants and animals. Heavy metal poisoning (such as lead and mercury) from industrial fallout collect in the tissues of top predators such as whales and sharks. Sometimes this type of poisoning can cause birth defects and nervous system damage. Dioxins from the pulp and paper bleaching process can cause genetic chromosomal problems in marine animals and may even cause cancer in humans. That last part in red in ESPECIALLY significant. "Dioxins from the pulp and paper bleaching process can cause genetic chromosomal problems in marine animals AND MAY EVEN CAUSE CANCER IN HUMANS"!

Sorry for typing so much, but there's SO much more that I could add... it's really horrible what humans are doing to the world, and yet some people don't even KNOW what's going on! Just trying to make a clear point, hopefully I've got your attention. smile ;.;Tr!nity;.;

I'd be devastated if i found out the nautilus became extinct. It has survived relatively unchanged for millions of years. Or so I've read. It is unreal that we did and are still doing what we have done to the ocean. I've always said that we humans are deciders of this planets fate. It looks like we are still blind to that fact.
