I got this idea from seeing this picture in someone sig. But you know Kakashi's old team?  Now as I begin my rant,I realize this could be fanart,but it does'nt matter because the colors are accurate. 1. Now 1st thing to notice,Kakashi's team's arc was the last thing showen before we started Shippuden. Which mean's it's got to be important. The last thing to happen to Naruto and his buddies,was Sasuke leaveing to join Orochimaru. That's pretty important isa'nt it? So why would they stick a whole new little story in the in the very end,and not in the middle or begining like most flashback of preshippuden. And why after such an important event? Because! This one was very important! The events in that flashback are going to cause somthing to bubble up in shippuden were not sure what yet but it's obvious somthing. Bacily,this was not just another flashback this was a "pay attention this will happen again or somthing will because of this",and also how we were shown this specific point of Kakashi's team.2. Now look at each member of Kakashi's team. Kakashi,Rin,and Obito. There kids just like his own team. Now then each of them could represend one Kakashi's team. Rin,has almost the same hair,and is also a medical ninja like Sakura, so that could be her. Obito is an Uchiha,possess the sharingan and argues with the other boy on the team often,(I know his personality is nothing like..)but he would represent Sasuke. And Kakashi being the one,who came from a hard backgournd, haveing to feel guilty all his life for what his father did and being unliked for it would be Naruto I belive.
3. Ok Now that I've cleared all this up you're thinking where the hell am I going? I will tell you. Obito,has we heard Kakashi say,loved Rin. Now keeping all the above in mind could this foreshadowing for someday? That Sasuke will fall for Sakura like Obito did for Rin? Especilly since everything in the arc was so important you think it could be so?

Kakashi has said that Sasuke reminds him of himself, though, thus...
Kakashi > Sasuke
Obito > Naruto
Also, Rin seemed to have loved Kakashi more than Obito. ( Sounding familiar? )
Yeah, so, actually, this would be leaning more towards NaruSaku. Because, Kakashi told Rin that she shouldn't love him. ( Which actually sounds like something Sasuke might say )
Though, if NaruSasuSaku was following KakaObiRin, then Naruto would die. And we all know that isn't going to be happening.
Wow. Did I make any sense?

Well, I think it's easy for people to see themselves in a person/people they knew from the past.
I think that Kakashi's old team were merely meant to explain Kakashi's character; mainly, how he obtained the Sharingan.
So, I personally don't think that Yondaime's team was made to specifically be an outline of what Team 7 is. I think that the Sannin does more of that job.
But I also think that Team 7 is their own team, and therefor will have their own outcome; not just follow what Yondaime's team or the Sannin team came to.
I think you did I great job thinking this out, but I don't think that Sasuke will fall for Sakura just because Rin fell for Kakashi or Obito.

With your first point you were on the mark. Since in the anime they haven't even shown Kakashi Gaden {sp?} It is a foreshadowing. But when you get down to the similarities you are off.
Kakasho represents Sasuke, Rin is Sakura, but her hair is brown not pink. Obito represents Naruto. He has Naruto's loving persinality. Kakashi was the jack a** back then. PLUS! Rin was in love with Kakashi. Obito was in love with Rin. Naruto is in love with Sakura, well he was. So if that is foreshadowing anything, its NaruSaku, which I support. I like both pairs.
This is just my opinion though. So no flamy. :]

Although I have to agree with her first point. Maybe it is foreshadowing. I don't think Naruto will die, but something will happen.

i think obito is like sasuke and if you guys hae problems and are here merely to correctt others mistakes scrrew off and make your own forum on here i dont think the people that make the forums appreciate constant critizting.... so NO NIT PICKING!!!!!!!!

A thread in which everyone agrees with the thread creator isn't a very good thread at all, and probably wouldn't last long. Topics should be made to let people say and discuss what they think, and it doesn't neccessarly have to be in a bad way, either. Besides, you can learn something from listening to what others think, get a different view of things, and maybe change your idea and make it even better. But you won't learn anything at all when people just repeat what you say.
