Starlight fell like rain upon his fur, embedding itself and adding colour to the blackness.. but nothing shone so brightly as the glare of bright yellow upon his tail that sent the blackness fleeing in a smokey haze. Even the pink of his inner ears, and the eyes hidden behind dark eyelids hadn't been safe from the stars' decent. His parents had been all but flabergasted at his appearance, so close to the name of the one his mother had put behind her so many years ago. It seemed only appropriate that his name came from another so purposely put aside. Perhaps it was because of this that Xanatos had been sent off with his father that day.

None of this the kit really knew or understood, of course. Most of his world consisted of exploring the new place his father had brought him to play. In fact, he didn't even know that Riddick technically wasn't his father, a fact the elder feli seemed perfectly fine in keeping from his newly found "son." As he'd been charged with keeping him that day, Riddick had thought it better to take the kit to the feli house. Home was a dangerous place with some of the feli he had the (mis)fortune of living with.

Not that the Feli House was any better in the long run. Not too long after arriving, a disturbance in the kitchen had prooved to be Gorbash making a fuss about something or another. Riddick had gone off to regulate his mentally challenged housemate since her mate was no where to be found, leaving Xanatos with strict orders not to leave the house or go upstairs.

This wasn't really too hard a thing to follow. Xanatos hadn't been out of his bundle long, and though curious, was still rather timid about the world around him. For the longest time he'd just laid, curled up in the light shed through one of the living room windows. Oh, that great gaseous ball in the sky, so remnisant of the one his tail was marked by; Xanatos quickly found himself falling in love with the warmth it shed upon the world, battling with the cold outside to do its duty.

A short nap later, the kit blinked his star-studded eyes and gave a cute little yawn to greet the world. after a short stretched, he slowly wobbled to his feet. Standing was, of course, still new to him, as was just about everything else. The kit looked about the room, his father still having not come back, and let his ears twitch left and right to catch the few noises about. He could hear Riddick a little further off, arguing with a female--likely the one that was causing the commotion in the first place.

Turning away from that, Xanatos moved slowly over to a book shelf and began to poke his nose through the strange objects scattered about the room.

The world was such a dull shade of everything now, a conversation that the poor feli had recently been a part of had all but rubbed out the brightness in the world, and he himself had slid into the perfect personality type for his kind - solumn and a little down in luck.

Unknowing to the little starburst feli, he had slipped in none too long ago to sit upon one of the more welcoming chairs and just sulk to himself - he knew that he had a lot of thinking to do, and this was always the best place to do so - it was always so warm and inviting, one could hear a pin drop on the floor if they stood still long enough.

And so there he was, flopped over the arm rest of his favorite chair, his tail hanging from the adjacent armrest, only swaying due to the light atmospheric breeze that would float in from the hallway that led towards the door entrance, sparkles falling from the tip. It was almost like those little shards of light knew that the siren had been down, as they were less in number and they fell in a sorrowful way. Lastly, the song that spilled from the siren's mouth unconsciously, was one of unhappiness and stories of those long left behind.

He would have made the perfect emo wallpaper.

Once done with the bookcase, which held nothing Xanatos could make sense of anyway, he went around to poke his nose at the great. It was too hot, though, so he didn't try to touch it and moved on instead. It was about then that something caught his eye and ear simultaneously.

A strange, but somewhat pleasant, sound was eminating from somewhere in this room. The kit turned in a circle looking for it, and on his third or fourth pass finally realized it was a darker-coloured feli that blended in rather well with the fading light in the living room. All except for the sparkles, actually, which were far more important to the kit than any vestige of sadness.

Rushing over so fast that his legs tanbled upon each other and he tripped more than once, Xanatos finally made his way to the chair where the sparkles dripped off and onto the floor. Jumping up and down beneath it, his paws batted at the sparkles merrily--he could just barely reach the actuall tail, his paws caressing the very end of the fluff every so often.

The game was fun; it wasn't too long before Xanatos's giggling interrupted the melody quite firmly.

At first he thought nothing of it, something was in the room with him, but he wasn't sure as to what - probably some random body in the feli house who needed to find a book, it was a difficult task to find one in this room when Bambi was out and about (Probably with his daughter, the one who's always on some sugarbend.) and so he just ignored them.

It wasn't until he heard the child like titters that emitted from behind him that he decided to investigate as to what possibly could have any interest in him or the area around him, as the silverine gaze that softened his features so much turned towards his behind, as his head moved, and spotted only the dead quiet backdrop of the library.

Peculiar.

But then he heard it again, the giggling livening up so much more that even his own humming was drowned in the happy sound of the child, and the curiousity of the adult perked up so much that he turned onto his back and lifted himself up to look over around the arm rest.

And there he was, the little one's bright eyes shining up at his tail, his delightful squeels bursting out at random moments as he danced around the end of the purple appendage, the sight only very slowly warming up the wounded heart of the siren as he watched the youth.

"It's fun, isn't it?" he murmured finally, curious as to what his answer would be.

Xanatos squeaked a little when he was addressed. He'd only been playing with the tail--a game that had only been made more fun by the fact that it'd begun moving about--and somehow hadn't expected the other feli to say something about it. Looking up at the strangly "painted" face, Xanatos decided the other didn't seem angry and therefore it was okay.

He offerend Thel a grin, sitting back on his hind paws for a mere moment before he tumbled backward. Gravity was a lesson hard learned, but Xanatos was definatly picking it up. He sniffled a little bit, for the fall hurt, and curled up into a ball. A mewl of sadness tore itself from his lips--so young, he only understood one emotion at a time, and right now he just hurt. It didn't occurr to him that he hadn't answered Thel's question. "owiee..." Tears threatened his luminous orbs as they raised up again to Thel's form before squeezing shut.

Ai No Yami
Yami's ears perked up to the sudden mewling. It sounded like another about his age, which made him more than a little curious. Slowly he made his way toward the noise and sniffed a bit to see if he could tell anything about the other. It was a youngster sure enough, as he had been around the Grinch and knew what an adult smelled like; that and the other smelled very simliar to himself.

He sat nearby, tilting his head but unsure of just what to do. It wasn't in his nature to cuddle persay, but he felt a little pang in his midsection, maybe empathy? He didn't know. Raising a paw, he patted the other's shoulder, not sure if it would help or not but it was worth a shot.

Nerpin
He sure knew what that felt like, as he watched the child suddenly shift moods so fast he swore he felt a slight breeze during it, but he didn't want to think of that just now as he rearranged himself in a more comfortable position - draping his forepaws over the armrest that was right next to the whelplet as he started to well up after the little tumble.

Furrowing his brow he reached out with one of his paws and rubbed the little one's head a little, humming to him softly as the sparkles littered the fur of the void colored child, the purple shards danced on his fur like galaxies so far away that unfortunately were blessed with a purple sun.. Never the less, he murmured to the child softly, hoping to heal whatever small thing hurt in him, almost wishing he to were young and easily won over with sweet words of kindness.

"It will be allright, it's not that bad." he hummed, softly.

Kisoni
A few sniffles later, the kit seemed to be okay. His moods were, indeed, lightning quick and soon enough the kit had raised his head again to be showered with sparkles from Thel's paw. He hadn't missed the arrival of another kit, but as all kits did, he didn't think too much about anything beyond his scope of interest. And those sparkles were definatly interesting.

Pain forgotten, he turned his attention to trying to catch a sparkle on his tongue as one would commonly a snowflake. Several he caught on his nose, making him sneeze each time, but eventually he managed a bite of one--it tasted like static and made his tummy feel funny. The kit giggled then, big eyes on the adult before him. "You do pretty shinies!" Oh the joys of being young. He picked up language fast, but not that fast.

Finally acknowledging the other kit, as a turn of his head had actually gotten Xanatos's attention, he blinked for a moment at him in dull wonder. This one was as small as he was, and similarly coloured--even his tail did the same smokey act! Unsure of what to say, the kit just stared a moment before attempting to eat another stray sparkle.

Ai No Yami

Yami blinked at the other kit. Only when the other was staring at him, did he realize that they had similar traits. Their tails particularly. "Do I know you...?" he asked, blinking again as he went after the sparkles coming from the adult's tail.

Nerpin
And then suddenly there were two of them, almost exactly akin to eachother, except that the patterns on them differentiated slightly so, but his eyes deceived him slightly and he almost wanted to think they were siblings. Although, common sense and the fact that he looked -nothing- like his sisters made him realize that they were just very simular, and he just decided to shake his head and fake a wonderful smile for the both as the sparkles fell down like snowfall's lightest point.

"I don't make them, they're just there." he stated, giving a soft saddened giggle as he looked at his body exude more of the glitter "They just appear on their own.. I can't understand why"

Kisoni
"But... if they... " Xanatos's face scrunched up. He knew what he wanted to say but wasn't sure how that was frustrating. He tried again, "if they are... on you, they come from you?" That wasn't exactly right, but the kit seemed extraordinarly proud of himself. He puffed his chest up a little with a kit-grin.

The statement his strange little counterpart had made distracted him, and he tilted his head at the other, "I not met any small ones before." Xanatos shook his head. The sparkles once more became the center of his world as he suddenly realized this new kit had them too! He pounced on the other's tail, nearly bowling himself over, and gripped the fluff in his teeth as he tried to eat the sparkles. Did everyone have these except him? Well, no, his dad didn't... but his dad din't have fluff, either.

Ai No Yami
Flicking his tail away from the other's mouth, Yami yelped a bit. "Owwwie!" It didn't hurt much but it surprised him none the less. "Careful.... is me." he said, swishing his tail a bit as he realized that he had little bity balls of light coming off his own tail. He hadn't bothered examining himself, as when he was in the bundle, it was dark and didn't seem to really matter all that much.

Standing, Yami got down on his forepaws and his rear in the air he wiggled his tail playfully. "You wanna try again?" he said with a smirk.

Nerpin
He couldn't help but snicker at the personality that these two held as he laid his head on the edge of the armrest, watching them play and war over the little gems that fell from the bodies of the purple adult and the little blue kit. Shaking his head, he answered the little star child's innocent query in the best way he could possibly have, scrinching his face as he did so.

"Well.. they are.. me. Yes. But, they sort of have a life of their own.. just.. are there. You know?'
he said with his eyebrows furrowed in an odd "I think I know what I'm saying" kind of way, the feelings od depression had been displaced momentarily by the sweetness that came with these children - the true and caring Thelxiope had only returned momentarily.

Kisoni
"No," The kit answered with a shake of his head. He didn't understand. To him it seemed like the same thing.. but that didn't bother him too long. After induging in a short game of chase with his fellow kit, Xana found himself at the base of the chair. A few attempts at jumping, and a bit of claw torn cloth later he was up on the seat of the chair. Smiling proudly, the kit padded over to the Arm Thel was on and put his paws up on the purple one's side. "You're big!"

Why he bothered to state that, the kit never said. Instead he giggled, "An' your sparkle taste funny--Can I eat 'em?" As if he hadn't been already.

Nerpin
Raising an eyebrow, Thelxiope had once again forgotten the age of the other feli once more and just chuckled to himself, understanding the quaint answer and nodding - kind of like one of those 'you'll understand when your older' chuckles before watching the whelp make it to the top of the chair, his silver eyes watching sterfully, hoping that Xana didn't fall down.

Upon hearing the childlike statements, he just giggled a bit and smiled to Xana, sort of nodding in agreement. 'I am big, and.. if it makes you happy, I suppose you can go nuts. They've got through worse scenarios~"

Ai No Yami

Yami understood the older Feli, but more than likely because he had sparklies of his own so maybe that was why. He did like the fact that he got some attention with the sparkles but he had the distinct feeling that he'd be wishing they weren't quite so attention grabbing... For the time being, he watched the other two interact as now they were both on top of the chair... and he was not.

Kisoni
Xana grinned. He was happy to play with the sparkles offered to him and immediatly began to try licking them off the other one's fur. He got several, and rolled back onto the cushion as he giggled in laughter. The way the sparkles felt going down made him hold his stomach to keep from quivering too much--it felt so funny. After awhile the staticy feeling faded and he rolled upright to look around for his playmate. When he spotted Yami he grinned at him as well, "You sho'eat some! They good!" Looking back up at Thel, Xana added, "You lucky! You gets'em alla time!"

Ai No Yami
Looking at his own tail, Yami raised an eyebrow. "But... I don't eat me." he said simply, wondering just what the other meant. It seemed rather odd to him to eat.... his own tail.

Saint Sergio
User ImageVoices attracted him from a slumber behind a bookshelf in the living room. Yes, this pink Feli kit slept in odd places and angles. His sliver ears flicked irritably. He hated being woken up from a nap as deep as this one was. He was dreaming of hunting rabbit with his Uncle Marco, for goodness sake. Who could possibly be talking after so many days of blissful silence? One way to find out. This pink and silver fuzz ball padded out and gave a huge, groaning and moaning stretch, popping several joints.

Shaking himself off first, he padded ever so much closer and spotted a few other Feli kits and an adult. One kit caught his interest immediately, and that was the one that had a yellow sun on his tail that was GLOWING. Shiney caught his eyes. Crouching low, he crept up behind the kit and poked him in the back and then sat beside him like nothing happened. This was Body Bag's way of saying: "Tag! You're my new plaything." He looked to the adult with the sweetest of smiles, looking picturesque of an innocent young kit who didn't come from a family of crazy, deranged Feli.

He brought his pink tail to curl around his paws and gave a sleepy yawn as he looked to the final kit, examining it and arching a brow above his silver eyes. It seemed the kits he met lately were a lot more colorful than he, but now their eyes were prettier than his two toned ones, in his opinion at least.

Seeing the introduction of another whelplet, the siren wondered if he suddenly had become a whelp magnet - come one, come all, see the hurt mythological he-siren, make him feel.. squishy and girly, what the hell. Never the less he shook his head a bit and gave a sweet nod to the little hellion, one that he wouldn't know that this particular adult was the only son in a family of four messed up children who's father was a poltergeist.

Breaaaathe. Returning to the gaze of the first little one, he gave a rough laugh and hummed happily about it, before answering him in the best way explainable "Sometimes it's not so good - I'm easy to find in a game of hide and seek, just follow the stream of purple~"

[SS - 2 notes xD Thelxiope is a "Siren", so he always sounds like he's singing, cause his voice is just like that, secondly he's very effeminate. 8D;.]

Ai No Yami
Yami had to think about that one for a moment. Once he got it, he laughed. "I sorry... not laughing at you."

While he was a dark Feli, it didn't mean he wanted to make others feel bad. He hoped that the other didn't feel like he was making fun of him. It just seemed like a very funny mental image, that was for sure. He could picture the purprle trail going towards the adult.

Kisoni
"I glow!" Xana countered chipperly. Truly, he did, and his cheer could outshine any darkness about it as easily as his tail did. The prod on his back caught his attention and he turned fine yet another kit behind him. Was this the day of the kits?! All males, too, though that didn't seem to matter to him. "Hello."
User Image
His smile was simple an innocent, completely unawares of the kind of feli sitting before him, never mind the other kit's seeming innocence and sweet looks. Little did the group know they were about to get a unique introduction as to the lineage behind the newest kit's sweet facade.

"DEATH FROM ABOVE~!" A harsh, yet feminine, voice crowed as a Dark feli chose that moment to dive bomb onto the back of the chair. The whole thing wobbled and would have sent the kits to the floor had t he wall not been directly behind it to stabalize the object. Gorbash perched on the back of it for a mere moment before leaping down behind her son. She scooped him up against her and began to wash the back of his neck.

Xana stared at this terror that had dropped upon them out of no where. At her apearance he'd dropped low to the ground, or the cushion as it were, and his ears laid flat against his head. Who was this creature? Where had she come from? How had she come to be?

"Shush," Riddick's voice came against Xana's ear and he felt the skin at the back of his neck being pulled by the male's maw. Xanatos found himself lifted in the air carefully, then being placed at the feet of his father whom still sat on the floor below. A comforting tongue lapped at his ears and neck until his fur had laid back down against his body.

Looking up from his son's form, Riddick raised his strangly coloured eyes to the group on the cusion. Thel he hadn't a problem with as the male didn't seem to have harmed anything; no, Riddick's glare was all for the female bathing her own kit. "Gorbash, that isn't funny. You're scaring the children."

"Maybe the soul-beasts need to be scared," Gorbash twittered. She still hadn't let go of the thought that the "Things that came out of my body" had stolen a part of her soul.. she'd simply come to accept it. On some days, at least, there were still those times where her children scared the fight straight out of her. Riddick found he missed those days.

"Your son is not a soul-beast, he's a child," Riddick exlained for the umpteenth time. Why did he even bother anymore? Normally he'd have just hit the female over the head and stalked off, but the presence of innocents always seemed to soften him a little. Surely, his own son burrowing into the fur of his belly helped to further the lose of his edge. "Really, woman, have you no sense in your head?"

"I should hope not!" Gorbash sounded completely offended by this accusation. Her head jerked up to face him and she let go of her only begotten son, "I want nothing in my head that hasn't the right to be there."

Riddick's eyes closed for a mere moment. Were was Nagumo when you needed him? He, at least, seemed somewhat able to reason with this vile, twisted, insane excuse for a living creature. Speaking of vile and twisted, yet another of the pig-feli's children padded into the room with them, adding another female to the conversation.

Satan seemed to be the most sane of that litter's brood, at least that Riddick had met... but that didn't mean much at all. Her father was sane as well, in a sense, but he was pure, unabashed evil at best. Satan looked at the other kits about, including the form of her own brother, and stopped at the edge of the cushion. Sitting, she offered a smile to the group before her eyes fell on Thel's tail. In a manner of mere seconds the green furred terror had dashed up and latched onto it with a resounding cry of "SHINEY!"

Xanatos winced and further pushed himself between Riddick legs to hide under his father's body. As for the adult male, his expression changed once more to pure, unadulterated pitty as he looked up Thel. ".... Lovely evening, isn't it?"

"DEATH FROM ABOVE!"

His ears twitched and his head turned just tin time to see something swoo down and then scoop him up. He screamed in a a voice so high, it hurt his own eardrumbs as he tried to wiggle away, biting and clawing and kicking. "Let me go! I don't know you, go away!" He was frantic sounding, frantic in movement. It wasn't fun. However, seeing he wasn't getting away, the pink kit settled down and growled, bristling with being treated like this. It was only a little after he'd heard a second voice did he recognize the scent. The same scent as his bundle. It was momma!

He settled more comfortably, purring loudly as he looked up to the pale Feli with goggles on his head taking away his plaything. He needed that plaything to play with. "Hey~" he whined and reached out for Xantos, tail thumping irritably like a spoiled baby not getting his way. "I wanted that! Give him back!"

And yet someone else caught his attention. He turned his head and found his sister pawing at a tail. "Satan!" he chirruped quite happily, grinning like a mad kit he then switched to reach out to her. "Satan, where's my other sisters? Where've you and momma been? Why have I been the only one to come out for a while? Why aren't you as fat as me? Come over here, green face!"

He wiggled away from Gorbash and grabbed onto Satan's tail, dragging her back over to his mother, he settled down between her paws as best as he could and then pulled Satan with him, under their mother. "We are soul-beasts. We feed of of souls. Rabbit souls, frog souls... Cow souls. You know? The bloody, gooey, yummy things we eat daily?" He purred quite contentedly. He didn't know until now, but he missed his momma.
