He was continuing on his travels, a quest to find new creatures. He had met one already and she was wonderful though she looked a little frightening. It was defiantly worth leaving home even if it was only going to be for a short time.
The sun shone down on his black and blue body, he didn't like hot days his black coat sucked up the heat and it always made him far too hot. It was an annoyance that he had no choice but to live with and he did adore the sunny days. It always seemed to make everything more colourful and lively.
He was by the river, which was to be expected he loved water and missed being by the sea. It was so strange to be so far from home. No sand and no sea but lots of grass and trees. It was a different world and though he missed being at home he did love it. A new world with new faces, it amazed him everyday.

 Laughing, Saiena splashed her way through the river, the swift-moving water lapping up against her spotted sides. While the day wasn't exactly muggy, Sai had always adored the water; one of the side effects associated with growing up on the lake, she supposed. Besides, it was a BEAUTIFUL day to be in the water, it was so clear and delightful!
Diving forward a bit, she then pulled up her legs and allowed herself to float downstream, imaginging herself to be a bubble in the current with no cares in the world...
But a bubble with eyes still, as she noticed the other Soquili rigth away as she floated past him. "Hello to you! Lovely day for rivering, no?"

Ahmik hadn't been looking down at the river when the voice called to him so he stumbled backwards a little rather confused before looking at the female who called out to him. His first thoughts happened to be something along the lines of 'she is blue'. He hadn't seen another blue horse the only one he knew was his mother. This female was already liked by Ahmik just for being blue and then she was in the water which gave her extra points.
"Hello to you too!" He chuckled a little and nodded, "Yes it is. The water looks beautiful, is it warm?" If it was he might get in the water and join her, it would be easier then trying to talk to her from the river bank when he could be swimming or doing what ever it is that she seemed to be doing. She didn't look as if she was swimming.

Considering the pull of the current, Sai had already passed the stallion by the time she called out to him; consequently, in order to actually carry on a conversation she'd had to stop and wade back upriver a bit, keeping herself firmly grounded. But then, it was rude to yell, wasn't it? And the only way she'd have been able to be heard otherwise was to yell REALLY loudly, so...here she was.
Grinning, she bobbed a bow as a way of greeting, answering his question by splahing a small squirt of water in his direction. "Well, I think so, but you'd best make up your own mind. Either way, it will probably benefit you either way, unless you have an AMAZING heat tolerance. Or are you not that warm?" He looked warm, but she always thought dark Soqs looked warm. Probably because they WERE warm to the touch more often than not... "Anyway, see what you think!"
She always enjoyed having company while out and about, especially if it was a novel meeting. So far, this had the possibility of being just that!

He laughed and entered the water, letting himself being pulled towards her.
"You are right, it is a benefit, a lot cooler then being out there. I bet you don't get that hot do you?" He chuckled he couldn't help it! He was in water and that made him incredibly happy.
"I am Ahmik by the way!" He smiled as the water seemed to splash around him, oh this was great! Not as nice as the sea waves splashing on your side but this would be good enough for now.
"I take it you like the water a lot then?" It wasn't often he found others who liked the water as much as he did, he was grateful for it.

"Hot enough. That, and I just like water. Probably because I grew up on the lake, the BIIIIIIIIG lake, and learned how to swim almost as soon as I could walk. Well, I actually fell in the lake and nearly drowned, but you can bet I learned how to swim after that!"
One thing about Saiena was that she liked to talk. Given the opportunity, she would chatter away for ages....but she at least made an effort to restrain herself. When she thought about it. Which WASN'T the case at the moment!
But his introduction reminded her that she ought to step up to that plate too! "Well, nice to meet you, Ahmik; I'm Saiena, but you can call me Sai if you want. Do you swim much?" He sure didn't seem timid about the water, that was for sure!

He smiled, he couldn't help it she seemed so lively.
"Nice to meet you too Sai! I swim lots at home, I was born on the beach so I learnt to swim in the sea from a young age! Its great fun. I love the sea with the waves and the nice sandy beach!" He was remembering his home as he spoke, the sea wind on his face the sea around his hooves, yes it was awesome!
"Where is this lake that you grew up on?" He was curious, he hadn't traveled too much so he didn't know where this lake was.

"Oh, you were raised on the beach? I've only been to the beach once, but it was so nifty, with the really tall waves! Don't care for the water that much, at least not for drinking, but it's a really pretty place!"
Ahmik's query about the lake brought a surprised look from Sai, however. He didn't know about the lake? But the lake was MASSIVELY, HUGELY ENORMOUS!
Folding up her legs again to resume her floating, he gave Ahmik a surprised look. "This very river feeds into the lake, Ahmik! It's a HUGE lake. so big you'd have to runs for weeks and weeks to make it all the way around it! That's so crazy you haven't seen it...but I guess it makes sense. I only saw the beach once, cause it's a really insanely long walk, so I guess it works in reverse for you. Not having wings makes things hard sometimes, doesn't it?"

"Wings?" He had never seen another creature with wings other then the birds and sometimes he longed to be up their flying with them. He believed it would be like swimming out of water.
"I would love to be like the birds, they can see everything if they wanted!" He smiled and lifted his hooves off the ground to try out the odd floating thing she was doing. It was odd, very different from anything he had done before but it seemed enjoyable and that was good enough for him.
"I would love to see this lake of yours, it sounds amazing!" For now though he was happy trying out this floating thing.

That Ahmik was unfamiliar with winged Soquili didn't occur to Saiena, even as she heard the question in his voice. "Yes, wings; you know, the feathery or scaly appendages that grow from the shoulders of various creatures and some Soquili allowing them the power of flight?"
Grinning, she stuck her tongue out at him in response to what she perceived to be teasing; after all, her father and brother were both winged, as well as a couple of her father's herdmates, so she'd grown up seeing winged Soqs. That didn't mean she couldn't be jealous, though. "I agree about the flight, though; I always found it to be GROSSLY unfair that my little brother got to have wings and I didn't. Still, I can run circles around him and that's good enough!"
In a positive thinking vein, naturally. Because positive was good. Ahmik was nice and positive as well, which made it easier for HER to remain that way! "Well, keep your legs up for a while and the river'll take you straight to it!" One of the handy uses of water, transportation... "And it's MUCH easier than walking, doncha think?"

Ahmik listened but was a little confused. Wings? It just seemed so odd he couldn't imagine it. Then again he found out about nightmares, it would make sense that there would be others with wings.
"Your brother can fly? Cool!"
He listened to her and nodded. "It is so much easier! I can't wait to see this lake!" He was ever so excited, this was something new for him to see and oh how he loved new things!

"Yep, my dad and brother both. Though in my brother's case, he's lucky he has a horn as well because he's such a horrid klutz, he'd be a disfigured lump if he didn't have the ability to heal himself!"
Laughing, Saiena flipped around and paddled herself around to Ahmik's other side, taking advantage of the faster edges of the current to reduce her own energy output. It was nice to have a change of view.
However, his surprise at the idea of winged Soquili made her suddenly ask, close on the heels of her earlier chatterings, "have you ever seen a unicorn Soquili, Ahmik? I suppose Killy's technically an alicorn, since he has wings too, but the basic principle is unicornish as far as the horn goes, I'm pretty sure."

Ahmik listened about the horn in awe. Things were so odd away from the beach!
"No I haven't. I haven't met many others. I have lived by the beach all my life so I haven't really gone very far, haven't met many others because of that." He smiled as she seemed to more faster then before.
"Is an alicorn a unicorn with wings then?" He was trying to work things out as she spoke, he was finding it all really interesting.

Now he was getting the hang of it! "Yep, alis are winged unis. Kileyo, my brother, has feathered wings with his horn, which my dad always says is great because HE has feathered wings and really doesn't know how the other types of winged Soquili fly so he NEVER would have been able to teach Killy how to fly safely otherwise, and that would have sucked since wings you can't use are a terrible waste, you know?"
Once again, that whole bit of dialogue was delivered at high speed and in the sense of a run-on sentence, all without Sai realizing it. She'd always been told she needed to speak slower or her ideas would spill away out of control, but try slowing down when you've got a lot to say!
And talking to Ahmik, she had a lot to say. Imagine, never seeing a wind or a uni or anything but regulars!
Diving completely under the water to cool off, she burst back up to the surface amidst a spray of water. "So, do you have a big family, Ahmik, or did you get to see many Soquilis besides them? I'd think that LOTS of Soquili would like to see the beach, but maybe you guys were more secluded, or something..."

Ahmik listened, he was really interested in what she had to say as he had never seen them so maybe today was her lucky day because he wouldn't stop her talking, not while she was interesting anyway.
"erm... my family is small, we lived in a cave my father found, I think he liked to keep mother safe, she has a really bad memory. I stayed in the cave or near by most of my life because I didn't have a reason to go anywhere else. I met a few mares who came near the beach but otherwise didn't meet anyone. When I started my traveling I met up with a mare who was part nightmare, she was really nice." He wasn't sure if Saiena would know what a nightmare was but then she seemed to know a lot so he expected her to know.
