 With an unplanned sneeze, the innocent female tried to regain her composure, and she shook her head distastefully at the feeling of a sneeze. Such a hot day it was, and she couldn't help but avoid the sun for most of the morning. Although her body was light, she didn't like the muggy feeling of a radiant sun, so the shade fit nicely into her tastes at the moment. Summer was like this everyday, and it made her miss the wintertime!
With a little sigh, she noticed that the sun had moved across the sky, almost being around late afternoon. Sometimes she wondered how long she would doze off for, and how many hours she would waste spacing out, rather then doing anything. Of course, she loved her dreams, and cherished what she would think about, but at the same time, sometimes she woke up completely dazed.
It was something she accepted as a way of life, though it worried her since it seemed to reflect on her being lazy! She only hated when she would wake up completely spaced out, and not know how long she had been out for.

Artemis was lonely and wandering. Unlike a lot of mates she knew her and Thestral spent days sometimes months apart, he had a wild nature and she knew that but she missed him. She also missed her children, they had grown up and were living their own lives, she was even a grandmother and that made her feel really old.
She had decided to take a walk in hope of seeing either one of her children or Thestral, it happened every now and then but she never expected to see them, just hoped. Instead she noticed a female, one who was brightly coloured and seemed to have wings that looked out of place. Artemis wasn't a harsh girl in fact she was loving and caring and wouldn't say a bad thing about anyone. She loved to meet new creatures.
She walked over to the female, smiling happily, her eyes were bright and softly she called out,
"Hello there!"

Ghost turned her head quickly to see a lightly colored female calling to her. With a bouncy expression, she turned her body and trotted over to face the female. "Hello there to you!"
Ghost gleamed, but sort of felt embarrassed that she didn't notice the female right away. Luckily, it didn't seem to pose a problem, and she continued to hold her smile while she looked at the pretty female. Her wings fluttered happily, and she was excited to meet another.
"How are you on this.. hot day?" Ahh yes, it really was a nasy humid day, but for some reason since the female looked so friendly, she already felt comfortable around her. She didn't even know her name yet, but Ghost felt compelled to be so social right off the bat.

Artemis was relieved when the female turned, she was known for talking quietly and sometimes others didn't hear her. She felt stupid repeating herself over and over.
"I am ok thank you, I just needed a walk to clear my mind, how about yourself?" She spoke quietly and softly, she couldn't help it. It wasn't in her to talk loudly like most her siblings or most of her family in general.
"I am Artemis by the way, what is your name?" She liked to know others names, it seemed odd to talk to someone when you didn't know what they were called. It was like talking to a stranger who be nothing more then another creature without a place in the world. Artemis found that to be wrong so always made sure to find out ones name.

"My name is Ghost!" She said happily, "It is nice to meet you Artemis." The female in front of her was so elegant, Ghost wished she could act all mature and such all the time! Even though she was sort of childish, she tried hard to be respectable in a conversation.
"Clearing your mind?" Ghost tilted her head a bit confused, since her mind was like, the completel opposite. "I hope you don't mind me asking but, what do you mean by that?" Her eyes were focused, and she imagined what clearing the mind must be like. "I think a lot so, I think it would be impossible to clear mine." She giggled a bit, and flushed while looking back at the female.
She really was so naive to many things, but it was through talking to others where she learned some of her greatest knowledge.

Artemis laughed at the females question and realised that if this youngster didn't clear her mind she obviously hadn't had any children. She was sure that all parents needed time out to just think about nothing for a while.
"Its when I can just think of nothing and not worry about my children or whether my sons kids have came out their basket yet and things like that. Its me time where I can just be happy." She smiled at the thought of the youngster dreaming and remembered back when she dreamt about what she has now. Oh she was getting old.
"I take it you have no children of your own?" She asked in her soft voice. She didn't want to just assume that Ghost had no children because she might be wrong and then she would feel very silly.

"Oh I see, so it is sort of relaxing then." She nodded happily, wondering if she would ever benefit from that. "But you have children, how nice!" Ghost wanted children, well, with Hesperos but.. everytime she thought about it, her face would swell up drastically.
"I don't have any children, but I am very close with a stallion so maybe one day.." Again her face flushed, and she turned away only because she was always so embarrassed about loving Hesperos. "I bet having children is nice.." She brought her eyes back on Artemis and smiled.
"So, since you are so pretty, your children must be too! I wonder if I could train myself to be as good of a mother as my own was. I guess that's what makes me worried sometimes." She nodded solemnly.

Artemis just smiled, she loved this girl already but then how could she not? Ghost was just so easy to like it was hard not for Artemis to love her.
"It is nice having children though it can be hard, you see one of my sons is a Kalona and my daughter a half-kalona and I worry about what they are up to and who they might be hurting. It can be painful being a mother." Artemis didn't sound sad as she spoke and she continued to smile, after all it was life, what point was there in complaining about it?
"I am sure you will be blessed with children one day if you wish to have them. I am sure you will be a great mother, I believe all females are great mothers just some choose not to be." It was an odd theory which probably didn't hold true but it made sense in Artemis' head and thats all that mattered.

"Kalonas?" Ghost's eyes widened, though since she had been around Ariston so much, she wondered if it was another case of a kind Kalona. "So does that mean your mate is a Kalona?" Wow, how crazy! Though, Ghost was more interested now, since Artemis had quite the life. It was nice to hear other stories, and Ghost listened carefully as Artemis spoke.
She blushed at her compliment, only responding "Thank you," but her ears perked up at the remainder of her sentence. "Why would someone choose to be a bad mother? That is just.. awful." She would never do that, especially for the sake of her children!
"So you have a daughter, a son.. that must be nice, a bit of a variety." She gleamed and smiled. "You are so kind, that I doubt they are hurting anybody." It just didn't seem like it could be possible.

Artemis had let Ghost say all she wanted before she dared answer as she knew her answer may end up being a long one. It made sense to answer all questions at the same time as they were so related to each other.
"Some mares aren't happy having children for one reason or another and so they choose not to look after the child or love it how they should do. I guess some mares are just like that." She paused for a while to think for a minute, she didn't know any bad mothers but she knew there were some out there.
"My mate is a Kalona, well yes he looks like one though he is far from being one. I believe he has some mental condition, he can't talk you see and acts rather unusually. He is a sweetie though. We had three children, Besyrwan, Tenebrus and Ahana. Besyrwan is like I am, but in mostly his fathers colours. He has two baskets of his own now. The other two are off somewhere doing Kalona like things. I thought they would be like their father but they are not. I am sure they are alright but being a mother means I worry whether there is a need to or not." She laughed. It was the most stupid thing about being a mother, she always worried about her kids even when they were right by her side. Mothers were odd things, and she would know!

"It seems you have been through a lot.. you must be strong." She said, after Artemis had explained everything to her. "I think I understand now why you might want to clear your mind." She smiled, though more serious in the discussion now.
"I don't think worrying is bad, I worry all the time about my brother and sister, and about my mother and father. I am sure it is a bit different when you are a mother but, I think worrying is good for the mind." In a strange way, it just sometimes made sense to her. "So one of your sons is now a father? That is so nice." Ghost was almost envious at the thought, but she knew her time with Hesperos would come.
"So you haven't seen your kids in awhile?" she tilted her head, wondering if that would be a main worry for her. "I am sure that is very hard..." Though, when Ghost grew up, it was time for her to leave her family, and even she found it very hard.

Artemis nodded as the other female spoke. She was young but clever and Artemis believed she would make an excellant mother, after all she was willing to learn and to listen and that was important.
"It is hard not seeing them but they have their own lives, in the end if Thestral believes its the right thing to do we can always have more children though of course they would never replace the first three." She smiled at the thought of having foals running around again. The place was just so quiet without them that it seemed strange.

Ghost didn't know how she felt on the concept of having more then three children run around, but she figured she first needed to get through the first batch to prove that she could handle motherhood. And besides, she was still new to this all anyways, so she just nodded, sort of understand where Artemis came from.
"Well more children could never replace other children," she bobbed her head quickly, "though it would probably be nice to know that more of your kin are out there in the world." She had never really thought of it that way, and she smiled at the thought.
She pondered for a second and she tried hard to think of a way to stray off of the topic of kids, since it seemed like a hard subject for Artemis. "So what else do you enjoy Artemis, like in your free time?"

Artemis nodded. "I love having youngsters running around, makes me feel young again!" She chuckled at the thought, she could hardly remember her childhood sometimes.
"Free time? I run a lot. I spend most of my time on my own hoping my mate will show up. He likes to turn up at the most random times so I feel quite bad really. I should probably spend more time with others, and my siblings too. What do you do?" She was curious, the young female seemed so sweet she must have lots of friends.

Well.. the thought of having little ones running around would be pretty cute, and Ghost smiled at the thought. She would also feel proud knowing her children were pouncing around in front of her like that.
Ghost giggled as Artemis spoke, but then lifted a brow when she was asked the question back. Well, it was always embarrassing to admit that Ghost dreamed a lot, so she pondered some more 'normal' things that she had done. "I just like being around others, I don't spend nearly enough time with my family which is a pain." She sighed, and tried to piece some other hobbies together. "I like anything new I guess, so I wander around in hopes of finding jus that." She was pretty childish at heart, but to her that was always fun.
