i just noticed that eko didn't have a thread, and he's one of my favorites, so now he does!
eko was an awesome character -- he was mysterious at first, and sweet once you got to know him, but still unpredictable. he had an interesting story arc, and his flashbacks showed dramatic changes he had to go through, from thug to priest, after the death of his brother. he was one of the first to see the monster face to face, and he could kick your a** with his jesus stick skills.
also, gotta love the accent ^_^

his imdb says his nickname is wally -- i can see why!

Mr.Eko scared me. I call him 'The big black guy who cut off his beard'. Any idea why he did that?

i think it had something to do with the two "others" he killed. he had two little strands growing on his beard, one for each person, and when he confessed to ben he cut them off, like they had been a sign of his guilt, and once he had confessed he could be free of his guilt. i dont' know if that's a real custom somewhere or what, but oh well.
can't say he ever scared me. i didn't like him at first (because he attacked jin T.T) but starting w/ his first flashback episode, i found myself really loving the character.

Mr. Eko was awesome! It upset me when he kicked the bucket... Sorry, if I spoiled that but your way behind if you didn't know.
I'm glad he never gave his confession! Personally, I thought he was in the right! I agreed with him every step of the way on that!
I'm not saying what he did was all that good, but I don't think he needed to aplogize. confused
