Beep, beep, beep…
My eyes slowly opened at the sound, and my arm reached to silence it out of instinct. I lay awake realizing today was my 18th birthday, and like always no one was going to celebrate it. Tears started to run down my whisker-like cheeks as the phone began to ring.
I lazily walked over to the phone. Before I could put the phone to my ear someone was already saying my name.
“Naruto....Naruto are you there?”
“Sakura.”
“Good, you’re up. Get dressed and meet me at the ramen shop tonight at seven thirty, okay?”
“B...But Sakura! We’re off today.”
“I know that. Just do it, okay?”

I wonder why Sakura wanted to meet me. Maybe she wants to go on a date with me! I heard music and voices as I turned the corner…
“Surprise!”
“Happy birthday Naruto!”
“Huh…for me?” I felt hot streaks falling down my face. A birthday party for me.
”Well it is your birthday, stupid,” an older boy said sarcastically.
“Sasuke, what are you doing here?!”
“We forced him,” a blond and Sakura said at the same time.
“We all got you something,” said the raven-haired boy. I could not help but grin when I looked at him.
”In celebration of your birthday, I have worn your colors!”
My grin widened as I stared at a boy who was normally dressed in green, with orange at his ankles. He was now in all orange and his bowl cut was spiked up.
“Lee you look so cool!” I had never been happier in my life. Most of the presents were ramen and clothes.
“Sasuke, I told you to get him something!” yelled Sakura.
“I did get the idiot something. I just can’t give it to him here.”
Huh?
Sasuke got up to leave. As he passed me, he leaned over and whispered, “Met me at the training spot in twenty minutes.” With that he was gone.

When I got there Sasuke was nowhere in sight.
A sharp pain went through my back and shoulders as I was pushed backwards into a tree. I realized the raven-haired man had just pinned me down, his arms holding me still. He pushed hard on my shoulders so I couldn’t move.
“Sasuke, what are you doing?!”
“You really are an idiot, you know?”
“What...?”
“I am giving you your present.”
That’s when I saw how close he was to me. “What are you doing, b*****d?”
“Happy birthday.”
Before I could say anything in response, I felt soft lips on mine. I fought at first, until the shock wore off. Then I began to lean into it. The warmth that I thought I would never feel from another person filled my body as we parted.
“Sasuke…what was that for?”
“Why, didn’t you like it?”
“I never said that. It’s just that I thought that...”
“I hated you.”
“Well yeah.”
“I could never hate you, Naruto. I have loved you since we were thirteen.”
“You love me Sasuke?”
“Yes, Naruto, I love you,” he said as our lips touched again.
