There was an orange-gold blur on the horizon and the white stallion on the knoll could only assume that it was the sunrise. So, it was tomorrow already was it? The night had passed in a blissful flash of crushing like a colt and dreaming like a young stallion less embittered than he knew himself to be.
Eira.
The Ichsa wasn't far off so far as he knew and he'd be meeting up with her before this brave new day was old. Her smile, her eyes, her slenderness, the delicate dusting of white across her rump so pure against her rich brownness.
Morthan chuckled to himself and blinked at the rising orb of fire in the sky. As it climbed his vision improved and the world around him wandered slowly towards something that passed for focus. Green was the main impression he was getting at the moment though, green and blue and orange gold. Grass, sky and sun. D'ob was a beautiful place even when seen without it's sharpness, seen as little more than colour with the odd contour of a hill.
The Reya stallion rearranged his muscular tails and stretched out his wings with a contented sigh. Today would be a good day; they all had since he'd run into the tendril-winged mare who seemed to almost know his thoughts before he spoke them. He couldn't wait to see her again.

*One wing, two wings and soon on all fours, Jetta had to grown as the sun glared down at her face. Folding her left wing back to her side as her other wing flopped over her face as she glared back at the sun. So it wanted to toy with her? Snorting, her rust colored eyes narrowed as she glanced about the valley. Empty, just as she had left it the night before.*
"Good, still alone." She smiled hoping really not to see anyone else. "At least that's one improvement to this bleak time of day."
*Stalking forward through the waving grass, the long blades dragging along her belly like small fingers. The feeling made her visibly shiver, as she opened her wings and lifted herself off the ground to rid herself of the feelings. It was only up here did she notice someone else or something else. It was white at least and it seemed to move as well. Circling high and wide she watched the strange white object on the ground, not quit wanting to land and be attacked by whatever it happened to be.
Still her curiosity was starting to get the better of her foul temper that had started early that morning. So quick did her personalities change, too strange that she felt many didn't wise to be near her, wise for them at the very least.*
'What could that be?' She wondered narrowing her eyes. 'Whatever it is, it sticks out. Badly...'

The blue-eyed stallion's tails snapped at a buzzing fly as he studied the grass under his hooves. Slowly, very slowly, the individual blades were becoming visible. Each one perfect, each one individual. The Reya chuckled and lowered his head to n** them off. Sweet, rich and good.
He hadn't been grazing for long when a flash of movement caught his sharpening eyes. The white stallion snapped his head up and turned to face it. Somebody was up either early or late.
He squinted.
Yellow, green with... yes with leather wings and a heavy build. Aeri then? Mare or stallion? He couldn't tell yet, he wasn’t even entirely sure it was an Aeri. It could well be one of his own possessing an unusually heavy build or it could be a crossbreed. Well, it seemed to be coming in his general direction, perhaps he would find out soon.
Giving himself an all over shake, the albino waited for the other Nequus to either touch down or pass him by.

*Spotted, yep she had been spotted, she could tell as the object below her moved. Stretching her legs out before her, Jetta took a dive toward the ground, coming down for a most ungraceful landing. She was never good with landings, in fact she didn't seem all that thrilled about the whole thing. Take offs were a breeze, but landings... They pretty much taking her own life in her hooves to wither land safe or crash and burn. Sorta speak.
The landing was some what better, though her hooves slipped upon the still slightly damp grass. Nearly sliding on her rear she managed to remain standing, her yellow and green wings folded to her sides. Jetta had landed some distance away from the white object, that became more clear as she had come down. It was another Nequus, but not of a species she had seen before. It had the wings like her own, well almost. But it had more tails then she did and a pointy thing coming from it's face.
What kind of monstrosity was it? Surely it was not of her own kind. None of them, that she had seen had such protrusions as this one did. Holding herself up as proudly as she could, in hopes to not look like a foal. Her actions were less then honorable as she paced about the stranger, her long green tail twitching over her flank as her rust eyes watched. So tempted to just shout out asking what it was, though she had half a mind to make a complete fool of herself as well.*
"What are you?" she asked herself, though it was totally loud enough for the stranger to hear as well, if it was listening.

Poor as his vision still was the white stallion didn't notice anything overly awkward about the mare's landing. It looked a trifle strange but most thing did until the sun was well risen. As the soft words floated through the air the many-tailed Nequus pricked his ears foreward. For once his poor eyesight paid dividends; he was able to make out what had been said.
"A Reya," he informed the brightly coloured female with a slight smile. "Name's Morthan by the by." Hum, she didn't look all that friendly from what he could tell of her body language with his still blurred eyes. Well, no matter; he was fairly sure of his ability to either fight or escape if needs be. Her unfamiliarity with his kind would be one his side should she decide to be aggressive.

*A Reya? Jetta had never heard of that breed, in truth, she hadn't even seen anyone for that matter. She gad heard of breeds such as Jala and Bae. But a Reya, that was a new one on her. Stepping closer, her curiosity sill was getting the better of her. Lowering her head a bit and turning it to the side.*
"A Reya huh? That's a new one on me. you seem to have the wings of my own heritage, even with the minor differences. Like that bony protrusion coming out of your face. Surely a defect right?"
*Sure she was acting very foalish with all her questions. But truly she wanted to know, or it would drive her crazy trying to find someone else that knew about the breed. Her eyes narrowing she had pretty much brought herself up closer to the stallion, pulling her face just about to his. Dangerously close for most anyone's liking that was for sure. Her wings fanning out at her sides a bit, Jetta was determined to learn what she could about the breed that seemed much like her own.*
"Spill it, I want to know about your kind, so start talking." She 'demanded' even if she wasn't in the right place, nor did she had the right to be 'that' close to the stranger. What was his name? Moathan? "My name's Jetta, common, simple and easily forgotten."

Well, this one was a nasty little b***h wasn't she? Morthan's pallid eyes finally focused on the excessively close face and he treated her to a thoroughly under-whelmed stare. "Jetta. So glad to meet you," he said coolly. "Since you ask so nicely, it's a horn. Used mostly for fighting you know. Piercing eyes, slashing tendons, puncturing lungs; that sort of thing.
"As to my kind," the stallion went on in the same low tones, "we're quite rare and famed for our loyalty and prowess as warriors. Stereotypically we tend to avoid other breeds, possibly because of cocky little upstarts like you. It would be an awful shame to leave blood all over the world, wouldn't it now?" Let her try something, Gods let her try something so he could give her a scar or ten to remember him by. The day had started so well and then she had arrived.
"Now I'm going to ask this once," the pale Reya said, tucking his head in so that his horn was ready to be thrust out at the Aeri's neck if it came to it. "I'm going to ask you to take a few paces back and adjust your attitude, girl. I'm not a patient stallion and I am perfectly willing to get your blood all over my coat. If you keep going the way you're heading at the moment, your easily forgotten name will be forgotten by the world very swiftly in the wake of your passing. Do I make myself absolutely clear?”

*Well... That was like a rock falling from the heavens above. Just about falling where she stood, the impression of a sweat drop could be seen on her face as she skittered backwards most quickly, though she did trip up over her own four hooves. It seemed as if she had slipped on a banana peel or something, but the once demanding welp was now upon her back and her legs crumpled over her belly.
"Your kind seem fascination, but from your temperament? I don't know if I'd rather be me? Or try and grow a horn to be more like you..." She muttered not moving as she stared at the upside down grass.
*Rolling over onto her side first, before finally over far enough so if she wanted to, she could stand. Her own leather bound wings straitened themselves out before folding once more against her sides. Watching the stallion for a moment she had to wonder what had really ticked him off. Was it her? Sure it could have been, then again she didn't really know how to really act around others. Guessing that her inquisitive attitude wasn't the way to go around anyone. Specially when they had a weapon on their person that could slaughter her faster then a cat could a mouse.*

Morthan gave a snort of satisfaction and shook himself to loosen the muscles he had tensed. So the girl had a brain after all; good to see because, for all his talk, a fight hadn't been what he'd wanted. "That's better," he said aloud. "I've no idea what you're going on about my breed's temperament; we're far from alike you know. I just happen to be a bit short tempered when it comes to rude little... large upstarts asking impertinent questions and stalking me like a Rit does a butterfly."
The stallion ran his eyes, ever sharpening in the growing light, over the Aeri’s brightly coloured form carefully. She didn’t look like a threat now, he considered as he rearranged his many tails, just a bit of a daft girl. Annoying at worst. "I don't know how you plan to grow a horn," he said after a few moments of scrutiny. "The only ones with horns are Reya like myself, Ichsa and half breeds with enough blood from either of those breeds. No matter how hard you try you're not going to pop one out of your forehead."

*She had a brain alright, though she seemed to rarely use it half the time. Some say that she hatched too early or something and it never really developed to the extent of everyone else's. It could be truth, then again it could be wrong. Who was to really say, Jetta was born from a dying tree, the last fruit it would ever bear.
Her own rust colored eyes traveled over the length of the pallid stallion, noticing that he held no pigment what so ever, well besides the blue eyes that seemed lost within the blanket of white. A blanket of white he seemed more then willing to tarnish so quickly with her about.*
"I'm sure there would be a way, but in my current conditions. Highly unlikely." She had to agree placing her head on the ground. "And as you have seen that no one would like me. I can already feel that you are a top stallion in these parts."
*Pulling herself off the ground she shook the dust from her coat. Her wings beating a couple times, before folding them back to her sides, stepping about the stallion, further 'examining' him for what Reya's looked like. Well not the most glamorous of creatures, but couldn't be pushed around, that was for sure.*

Morthan gave a soft snort of amusement and shook his head. A top stallion? Well it was a nice impression to give even if it was false. "I don't live here," he informed Jetta, watching her watch him. "I live near to Casa Tiner, the ice mountains. I'm just on my way back there from this little jaunt to kindlier lands."
Did she really believe she could grow a horn? How? On willpower alone? Next thing she'd be hankering after the muscular tails his breed bore. Daft girl… but perhaps she was young or just very inexperienced. Judging people right off, on very first impression, was something he oughtn’t to do and he knew it.
What if he'd judged Eira on being an Ichsa, a breed he hadn't though a lot of for a very long time and had only recently got over. He wouldn't have her company, her laughter at his side and her easy acceptance of all that he had told her of himself thus far.
He really ought to make the effort to be civil to this Aeri.
Morthan sighed and ruffled his wings and tails for a few moments before settling them again. If only getting out of grumpy old git mode was as easy as realising he probably ought to.
