Journey's mane blew back into her face. Great, just great. Real good help there, wind.
She was trying to cross a very steep gorge, balancing herself on a heavy but unsturdy log that insisted on creaking and groaning in the wind and under her weight. She spread her wings for balance, too caught up in her crossing to realize that she could use them for more than just balancing.
The wind whipped at the left side of her body, causing her to shift and wobble uncomfortably.
"Conflibbit..." she whispered under her breath. Why did it have to be windy the one day she was crossing a perilous gorge on a log?!

Sadie yawned and flicked her tail and she walked along the narrow and steep mountain pass. One false move and she would be tumbling down over the edge of the cliff. But this did not worry her at all. She was used to the mountain and had always loved it up there. One it was cold and she liked the cold, dah she was a huskey soquili, and two Taylor hated the cold and would never go up to the mountains with her.
So when her compainion got too annoying, she would retreat to her mountain and wander up to the snow capped peaks and back down again. It was a long journey, about a days worth, and so traveling up and back down was enough to satify her.

Journey reached the other side of the gorge safely, but her mind was still on the swaying log and the fierce winds. She was uneasy now, her thoughts clouded by images of herself falling from the log to the ground hundreds of feet below.
"Stop it," she told herself, absently walking towards the snowy mountains. It was summer, yet it was still snowing up there... the idea was mind-boggling.

Sadie continued down the pass as the wind blew through her short mane. It also carried the words of someone unfamiliar to her ears. She stopped and tried to scent the wind. She couldn't get a good wiff but it was enough to tell her another was on thier way up the pass.
"Ello there!" she called out so as not to spook who or what was coming her way.
