Oh lord, musical tastes for me are more or less set around metal. I enjoy OSTs too, Dance, Techo, Rave, Jungle (the 90s stuff, not this stupid "grime" s**t we have Drum & Bass, and the only hip-hop I'll even go near is the nerd-core kind. Also I do like a little bit of punk and ska, some reggae...and even some reggae-punk-metal.
As for the list of bands that I like, well to be honest...I like a lot of bands. This is just copied from my profile, however that was just from my music folder...I have loads of CDs that I haven't converted to MP3 yet...that and I'm discovering about 1-5 bands a day. So without further ado:
3 inches of blood, Absu, AC/DC, Acid Reign, Akashic, Amorphis, Angra, Anthrax, Arcturus, Apocalyptica, Aryeon's works, Athiest, Augury, A7X (regardless of them being pretentious bastards, I quite dig 'em), Axenstar, Bal-Sagoth, Behold... Mind you I'm sure that some of these bands will probably show up in that list: Being a "barbarian" I'm sure you're into the oily group of muscle-bound men that are Manowar, Turisas for the Battle Metal, Iced Earth, Judas Priest & Iron Maiden because they're all blatantly cool (and how could we call ourselves a metal fan if we didn't like those) and perhaps the intergalactic thong-clad scumdogs that are GWAR? However I could be wrong...might be a bunch of bands which don't rank high up on the list. wink
