The steady 'drip, drip' of blood against the worn dirt path of the ground below her was the only sound that accompanied the silver mare in her journey across the plains... discounting the padding of small paws and the distinctive concerned reprimands of her new furry friend. After several minutes of arguing with her, Sukari was finally able to convince Tsuri to go hunt herself some dinner, and leave her to herself again.

Her legs wobbled unsteadily beneath her as she continued on her way, labored breaths accompanying the occasional stumble as her limp hindered her steps. Nanaki had done a number on her, that was for sure... but he had still let her live- and she was furious about it. It wasn't just that he was a soft-hearted fool- but by sparing her life, he had disgraced her with the worst humiliation possible. Now she was forced to rely upon the kindness of others, whether she wanted it or not- and she most certainly did not want it.

Another pained, frustrated grunt tumbled from her mouth before her legs finally gave out beneath her heavy form, erratic breaths stirring up the dirt on the ground before her. Great... just great. At least Tsuri wasn't around to make her humiliation complete... although with her luck, someone else would be.

While he had been hoping to find some company when he'd started out earlier that day, he hadn't really been specific enough in that desire. At least, that was Guilian's first thought when he came upon the bloodied and crushed grass that marked Sukari's presence. Injuries tended to be complicated, their bearers disgruntled, and their care better left to the ministrations of unicorns.

However, he wasn't so much the jaded type that he would just ignore clear signs of trouble, and following the trail for a bit he soon observed... "Sukari-Chica?"

Her ears flattened back against her skull at the familiar male voice, and an inward sigh accompanied an annoyed eyeroll at her turn of luck. Someone up there must have been having a laugh at her expense... well, nothing that could be done about it now, anyway.

Frankly, Sukari didn't want to be seen in this state by anyone, much less someone that had already seen her vulnerable side, and someone she was at least a little concerned with how they thought of her... but there was no helping it. Turning her head to meet his eyes, she offered what she hoped was a small grin, although it could easily have been mistaken for a grimace.

"Salutations, Guilian... it seems we have a habit of not meeting under the best of circumstances." She was irritable and frustrated, yes, but not enough to take it out on him. Shaking off a bout of dizziness, she struggled to heave herself onto her feet again.

"It would certainly seem that such is the case, wouldn't it?" Quickly getting over his initial surprise, Guilian's eyes quickly took stock of the situation and, more specifically, Sukari's injuries. Frowning, he moved towards her as she tried to stand, holding up a wing in blatant rejection of the action. "Don't exert yourself so on my behalf, Chica; I can see that now is not a time for formalities, even if the need for such existed. Please, rest yourself."

To get his point across, Guilian settled himself down on the ground beside her, deciding that the prudent thing to do would be to wait a little bit before asking Sukari about her injury. After all, last time he'd gotten the distinct impression that she was less than forthcoming about such things...so he wouldn't push that yet. "Speaking is easier when one is comfortable, no?"

One eyebrow raised at his reprimand of her trying to get to her feet again, and one eye twitched in annoyance before she simply sighed and let it go, collapsing rather ungracefully back down onto the earth with a wince. There was no point in arguing when she didn't even have the energy to stand... although it was embarassing.

"I hardly consider 'standing' a formality... but since I am rather low on energy at this point, I will concede your point."

She paused again as he settled beside her, noting the familiarity of this... not just in the pose, but how he was tiptoeing around the subject that he undoubtedly was curious about- how she wound up this way. She shifted uncomfortably, absently hoping that Tsuri had gotten sidetracked, and wouldn't be back for some time.

"I suppose so. What are you doing out this late, anyway?"

"Considering that you were reclining and only stood as I showed up, standing is indeed a formality in this context, but a debate of semantics hardly sounds entertaining." For Guilian, that was a wry statement, although not entirely without amusement. After all, in it's own way, this meeting had charm.

However, never let it be said that he couldn't get to the point when warranted. "Roaming, naturally. I adore the later hours, Sukari-Chica; they hold so much promise and so much allure, it's almost indescribable. But what about you...aside of being injured?" This with a flick of his eyes to her leg and an undeniably curiousl look to her face.

Giving in to the urge to roll her eyes at his contradictory statement, Sukari hid a small ghost of a grin as her amusement showed. Trust him to start a debate on something that lacked any importance.

"Ah, I should have remembered as much." She nodded at his explanation- it was how they had met the first time, wasn't it?

A small, almost indecipherable wince flickered across her closed features before it was gone at his question. What could she say? He knew her past, so there wasn't really any point in hiding it, right?

"I was thinking about how much pain I just put one of my surrogate herd members through," she mumbled, almost inaudibly. There was shame in her voice, but also a grim determination- Nanaki had been the one to stop her, so it was his own fault... it wasn't as if he had been expecting to leave unscathed. "I lost the fight... but I could tell he didn't really want to win."
