Air Force is pretty hard to get into if you are prior service these days, or was when I retired. Lot easier to go from Air Force to Army. Good luck with it.

It can happen. You just have to find a career field with room. But as the person above me just said, its easier to go from Air Force to Army than it is to go the other way, I have friends who have done so. Either way, good luck working with the system.

All I know is that if your prior Army, you won't have to do BMT again. You'll only have to do Technical Training for the new MOS you've picked. That's about all I know on the subject.

First off, you have to complete your enlistment in the Army. They rarely let an active duty soldier out of his/her contract early unless they get picked up for a commissioning program.

Another big thing to keep in mind is that unless you have an MOS that translate directly into a USAF AFSC (their equivalent term for MOS) and one that the AF needs, then your chances of getting into the USAF aren't very good.

I do not know if you need this information anymore, but I am currently serving in the Air Force. The last I heard on this issue was that going green to blue is a little harder but not impossible. If you haven't already, you may want to check with an Air Force recruiter near where you are stationed.
