I don't understand Y-Y
everywhere I go on gaia and even say the slightest about yaoi-exedera they disown and hate me.
like I put up a rikuxsora thread (that had no hating no bashing no flaming, nothing)
and half of my guild and their mothers are totaly bashing me in the face.
literaly this girls mom called me a f**.
It seems that het people think that yaoi fangirls are horny-depraved...*sang therm here*'s
and no one can givve a rats hat about us....?
its all really depressisng.
I had like 10 pm's from 10 different people telling me how bad of a person I was O-O
CAn someone please explain why this is happening?

and 2 pages of the freggin topic was just a whole bunch of girls hating on me.
like even brining up previous things I said and making them sound like I was hating on people!

seems like some places on the internet you go, there's either a higher amount of yaoi(people) or in other places you just get.........ya'know. hated?

I know what you mean!!
I was at a Con not too long ago and I was talking to some guys. I don't know how it came up but I said I liked yaoi. The guys practically ran away. (They said some lame excuse like a minute after I said I liked yaoi and were gone.)
Now, I had been talking to these boys for a few minutes. Intelligent conversation about anime and games. Not me trying to get them to make out or saying that no pairings but my OTP yaoi pairing would work. But the moment yaoi was brought up, they bolted. Now, the real question is: Why?
I think I know why.
Crazy ******** fangirls.
From what I've seen in THIS guild, everyone is pretty smart and cool. We all love yaoi and we act silly and have fun but we can talk and type. And I know that pretty much everyone has seen that one fangirl who's done this.
"O.o! IS taht Sasuke-kuun and Naru-chan?/ OMG!!1 I lvoe taht paring. it's supa kawaaii1 so is Sasike Gaara. Adn I HATE that slut Sakura. She shuold diee!! stressed scream stressed scream stressed I own a doujinshi! It's so kawaii!!1! heart heart I hvae no brain!!1 " (I added that last part for my own amusement.)
I'm pretty sure most of us acted like this at some point or another. But not really to this extent. So now, new yaoi fangirls are coming along and are seeing this and are acting the same way. So they are all acting stupid and scaring people into hating normal yaoi fans. (Or as normal as you can get, loving anime and yaoi.)
So what can we do about this epidemic?
I really don't know. All the good ideas are either a) not going to work b) really stupid or c) illegal

I pretty much agree with the link. I may be a yaoi fangirl and I do have certain pairinga I like in fan fic. But I don't just read those ones. I also haven't written a yaoi fic because I'm not so confident in myself to pull one off.

That hasn't actually happened to me before.. Maybe someone would argue with me how some pairings shouldn't be together or whatever.. But no ones actually hated me for it or anything.. It must be an ugly experience.

Sometimes, you can get hated easily....
so now I'm watching what i say, because those damn flamers can find even the smallest-no-hatefull detail in a submission and turn it into

It's those nutso fangirls that make all us calm ones look bad. I haven't gotten bashed or anything, but those types annoy me. Here's a good example of something I saw that was annoying.
OMG!!! Sora and Riku that is like so hot!!!!!!!
I wanted to bash that person's head in.
Anyway, I don't care if guys know that I like yaoi. Big deal.
Maybe somebody should start a guild that teaches new yaoi fangirls how to act so they won't look bad... I would if I had the resources.

It's not just homophobes, either. Even if a guy isn't homophobic, like my brother, he still gets creeped out about itm kinda like if a guy was posting pics of lesbian girls in their sig. Some girls would probably get ruffled by this and strat bashing him.
I'm not saying this is ok; I personally believe the people who go out of their way to bash someone have no life. Kinda like politics, where they bash gays incessantly.
Don't feel discouraged by these morons who have no life and find entertainment by insulting a person's likes and dislikes. mrgreen They have nothing of interest to say, anyway. smile

Eh. I get that alot in school. My friends and I talk about fanfiction basically non stop. Some jerk over hears us because he has no life and bashes us. We get annoyed quickly. So this is what we do.

That shuts him up real quick.

At my school, we have a Day of Silence for those gays and transexuals who are being prejudiced against, in which we wear all black, little rainbow pins, and don't say a word all day. Some of the people who participate were kicked, jeered at, and one girl was even asked to kiss a guy's girlfriend.
It makes me sad to know that there are stupid people like that out there.
I also have a few friends who are very much into yaoi and shonen ai, and we are part of a bigger group of friends who know this... and accept it. We made a mural of yaoi pictures that we hung in one friend's locker- she isn't a big fan, but she left it there, all year. We even have a devout Catholic girl in our group, who can accept us and respect us for who we are.
I guess I'm also happy that there are these people in the world, too.
