I am, of course, talking about pointless entries of the 'How to Use: DN' that you find within the manga(some of you, in your own DN). I only have volumes 1-6(and 11, tra la la), and am starting to find the rules becoming redundent.
For example, there's one rule saying that when you give the DN back to the shinigami, you lose your memories of the Note. It is obvious that you lose the memories of *just* the note, or at least that's the conclusion I came to. Then there's a 'htu' in a later volume that elaborates on this a little too much. Took up half a page, I believe.
And then there's the entire thing about the DN running out and not running out. emo
It's not that I don't enjoy these, it just gets a bit repetitive.
Most awkward 'htu' ever: There are male and female gods of death, but it is neither permitted, nor possible for them to have sexual relations with humans. The gods of death also cannot have sex with eachother.
......WTF? Was that purely to combat any Rem/Misa, Ryuk/Rem, and Ryuk/LightMikami shippers? Or just to give us horrible, horrible mental images? ;_; It just brings up the mental image of Ryuk and Light and Rem and Misa- OH KIRA MY EYES ARE BLEEDING. gonk

I know, it gets repetive sometimes, and often gets into to much detail that isn't important anyway, but I don't get how the shinigami thing works either. Where the hell do shinigamis come from then if they can't have sex? What's the point in having a male and female shinigami, if that's the case. I thikn Tsugumi Ohba was just running out of ideas for the rules.

Yeah, when I actually sat down and read all of the HTU pages in my notebook, I started noticing them getting a little weird and repetetive. But I don't remember that one. xDD
I'm glad it's there, though. x:

I'm under the impression that shinigami come from humans who used the DN and died. >.> I was also under the impression that being male/female was defined by your reproductive organs. If you don't have any(which is implied by 'nor possible') you aren't really a gender. I agree with Nillava, they're all asexual.
I think Ohba just wanted to screw with out minds. gonk

Quote: I'm under the impression that shinigami come from humans who used the DN and died. >.> At the end (and I mean VERY end) of the series, Ryuk says that humans are all equal in death and go nowhere (can't remember the exact quote, but it was along those lines), that's why they go to neither heaven nor hell. So I'm pretty sure that rules out the 'turning into shinigami' theory... although I think that would have been cool ^^

Where I am, at least.
