River is quiet and unassuming. He dislikes putting himself in social situations and takes care to separate himself from others, not so much out of dislike of people but just distrust in himself on how to handle them. He would much rather spend his time alone reading or listening to music than sharing time with a companion.

Zia would like to be a recluse, but she's far too sociable. She gravitates towards the bookstore/coffee shop scene and will happily while away the hours tucked in a corner reading forgotten out of print books, though with proper encouragement she'll go anywhere with anyone to do just about anything. She's easy to deceive and she hates that about herself, because it means she'll fall for anything.

Zia dislikes the color brown and so bleached her hair at a young age, and has long since dyed it a multitude of different colors. She has olive eyes with an astigmatism in the right, so she wears contacts. Her ears, lip, and nose are pierced. She has a tattoo of stylized bird wings on her shoulders and a black star just above her collar bone.
