Today was a day for the gardens. The sun was out, the sky was blue, and everywhere flowers were blooming. However, for Gavin the flowers were doing a little more than just blooming and looking pretty.

"I swear!" he turned back to Ina, who he'd successfully dragged along. "Giant flowers! With thorns and everything! They attacked me when I come here last."

And things that looked like teeth, but he'd leave that part out for now. As they moved from sidewalk to mulch, he picked up a nearby stick. Instant sword! A few days ago he'd wandered much farther into the gardens than he usually did. He was lucky he made it out. Whatever that funny mage guy planted in there couldn't be legal.

But it sure made for a fun day. Plus with two of them, surely they could defeat whatever botanical monstrosities were out there.

Ina had been eager to come along when she had heard about man-eating flowers. It was just like a story book! Though she was still rather puzzled as to why Gavin hadn't beaten the flowers, like the heroes were supposed to. She had come to the conclusion that he needed a damsel first before he could do such a thing. So, she was quite ready to be in "distress", for his sake.

"They must have been pretty far in, I didn't see any last time I was here," Ina murmured, though it wasn't a comment of doubt, but of insight. Her ears twitched attentively as she peered around the garden. It was a pretty big place. Who knew what other monsters lurked here, besides giant flowers that attacked you.

"They are very far in," Gavin responded courageously, acting like he valiantly cut through this jungle of a garden to do battle with the flowers. He wasn't completely lost when I vine grabbed his foot. Of course not. That's just absurd.

He pushed a fairly large branch out of their way. After all, it was his job to clear the path. It was also his job to remember exactly where he found these supposed flowers. Now was it to the left, or the right...

"This way!" he motioned, deciding to turn left into the taller stalks. They might have been sunflowers, or some variation. Either way, they were very tall. Everything got darker beneath the leaves.

Ina followed after him eagerly, more then happy to let him lead the way. She liked it when he took charge. It was funny, because it was the opposite when Haki did it. "Okay!" She piped with a wag of her tail as she bounded along. She kept her gold eyes scanning the flowers though. One could never be too care...they had to be ready if the monsters appeared suddenly or if something else came.

Gavin led the way for another minute or two--taking a left turn here, a right swerve there--until he finally came to a stop. Now the plants were so tall that it felt like nighttime, the few glimmers of sunlight looking like tiny stars peeking through the foliage. He looked to the left--a small pathway that led into an abyss of darkness--and then to the right--another pathway leading into an even larger abyss of darkness. Aw shucks, he was lost.

Something rustled in the leaves behind them. "Uhh...let's go this way!"

Gavin grabbed Ina's hand and went for the right path. More darkness probably meant more man-eating flowers, which was the whole purpose of this trip. Right?
